Thoughts For Friday

TGIF. I am so glad its Friday. My sister is flying back through here for work so I get to spend another weekend with her and I couldn't be more excited!

I picked up a new nail polish color, Essie Wicked. I absolutely love it. I painted my nails last night and think its the perfect fall color. I really love dark nails. P.S don't judge how dirty my rings are in the picture!! I really should clean them more often!

Wednesday night we had a Sprinkle for our friend Ann who is due with her second baby girl in November. This was my girls night outfit. I am obsessed with the blouse I wore, it is the best color green ever! It is one of my favorite fall finds.

Blouse: Marc Jacobs Micheala Silk Blouse
Jeans: Seven for All Mankind "The Skinny"
Shoes: Micheal Kors

I just got my Design Sponge At Home book in the mail and I am in love. What a great coffee table book. It is filled with so many great design ideas. Here is a sneak peek.

I don't know about ya'll but I think Jessica Simpson is definitely pregnant. It looks like she totally has a baby bump going on. It seems like her and Nick both seem to be happy and moving on. I am not going to lie though I sure do miss The Newlywed Days. That show was my favorite and I really liked them together!

I had the most amazing salad for lunch yesterday at Caviar and Bananas, one of my favorite food shops in town. It was fresh kale, dried cranberries, blueberries, and Gouda with an amazing dressing. Sounds weird right?? But it was so good! I would have never thought to use kale as lettuce for a salad but it was delish. They have have a farro and mushroom salad with truffle oil that is ridiculously good too!

Tomorrow night we are cooking Philly Cheesesteaks with our good friends. Random right? But Matt is obsessed with Cheesesteaks. I think I am going to make this for an app: Kettle Chips with Blue Cheese and Balsamic Reduction. Delish and easy!

Happy Weekend Lovelies!

Nursery Love Affair

Several of my good friends are preggo right now with their second babies. No don't read into this post and think that I am pregnant. I most certainly am not as is evident from the wine headache I have from last night! But I do think about baby number two alot especially what kind of nursery I would design. Here are a few I love. I tend to love a more modern nursery with hints of traditional aspects.

Love the color palette, stripped walls and rug.

I am always a fan of chandeliers, mirrored furniture, and sheepskin rugs! Gorgeous for a little girl.

Love the zebra rug, stripes and that glider is insane!

Geometric carpet + vintage glider recovered

I have been eyeing this crib and changing table forever. I love how masculine it is for a baby boy!

I am in love with this retro changing table and the wall cover. Simple and Chic.

I have saved this picture forever for inspiration for Sterling's big boy room. Love the animal prints, stripped wall and reading corner.

Love the idea of a giant mirror behind a crib.

Love the rustic vibe of this nursery. The old barn door is so cool behind the crib.

Great color scheme. I love the rug, dark gray walls, and modern artwork.

So for all my preggo friends there are some fabulous nursery designs out there. Oh and if you missed it my girl Chassity had some amazing designers put together mood boards for her future baby boy's nursery and they are incredible. If you need more inspiration head to her blog HERE to see all the designs! I saved so many of the boards for future ideas they are all fabulous!

Jalapeno Popper Dip

Are you surprised I am back with yet another dip recipe this week? I swear I need to go to dip eaters anonymous. I love some dip! As I mentioned yesterday this dip is amazing. The perfect start to a Mexican meal or really any meal. The combo of cheeses and jalapenos is truly delicious. We served our dip with the Hint of Jalapeno Tostidos and it was the perfect combo. I highly recommend you make this, enough said!

Jalapeno Popper Dip

Ingredients:
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese (room temperature)
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup cheddar cheese (grated)
1/2 cup parmigiano reggiano
1 (4 ounce) can sliced jalapenos (pickled)
2 jalapeno peppers (chopped, optional)
1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
1/4 cup parmigiano reggiano

Directions:
1. Mix the cream cheese, mayonnaise, cheddar cheese, parmigiano reggiano and jalapenos in a bowl and pour into a baking dish.
2. Mix the panko bread crumbs and parmigiano reggiano and sprinkle over the dip.
3. Bake in a 375F oven until bubbling on the sides and golden brown on top, about 10-20 minutes.

**I recommend adding the fresh jalapenos to give the dip a touch of heat since pickled jalapenos are pretty mild. I used 1.5 jalapenos in ours but next time I will use 2 for more flavor and heat.**

Obsessions

BURGUNDY JEANS
This is one of my favorite fall trends. I just bought the Joe's Jeans Alice Skinny Visonaire Burgundy jeans and love them. They sit high on your waist and are super flattering! They are the perfect wine shade and I can see myself wearing them all the time!

CHEVRON RUG
I finally had to ditch the white faux sheepskin rug I had in Sterling's nursery. White rugs are so gorgeous but pretty much a bad idea in a nursery, especially a boy's nursery. That thing was covered in so much pee, dirt and grim no one would clean it! I was inspired by this picture.

and ended up ordering this similar rug from Urban Outfitters. It was a steal and I think it will be a great replacement!

FRYE BOOTS
I am really loving these Frye boots. How fabulous would they look with leggings, a loose tee and scarf. I can't decide which pair I like better!
Here is Elin Nordegren sporting the black logo boots. They look amaze!

JALAPENO POPPER DIP
I made this dip this weekend and wowza was it good. If you love cheese and jalapenos you will love this! I will share this danklicious recipe tomorrow!
