NDM Style: MZ Wallace

We had the best weather this weekend, the kind that just instantly puts you in a good mood.  I understand why people get depressed in the winter all the cold, snow and dark gloomy days can get to you!  We spent alot of time outside so I persuaded Matt to snap a few pictures of my new favorite tote bag.

I am always on the lookout for cute totes.  This MZ Wallace one is my newest obsession.  What I love most about it is it looks like a Kelly Wearstler pattern.  I love the black and white graffiti/ splatter paint look!  Black and white is always so classic to me.

If you are looking for some cute longer tees, the Mossimo one I am wearing is my new favorite and they are dirt cheap at Target.  Great for working out or just running errands.  This is a typical Saturday outfit for me.

Also I finally got some new running shoes.  I love these New Balances ones I am wearing, they are lightweight and so comfortable.  I am super happy with them.

I have been using my MZ Wallace Tote to stash all the kids stuff in and it also serves as a great gym bag!  It is quilted and easy to wipe down if you spill something which makes it a great Diaper Bag.  I keep it in my car with all Frances Moon's diapers and baby stuff so I always have it with me.

I just love the leather detail on the handles.

Truly an all around fabulous bag.  It is even big enough to use a weekend getaway bag.  Next time I head to Charlotte I will be packing it up and bringing it! It comes in a smaller version here but I am partial to big bags!  Once I became a Mom my motto was the bigger the better for bags!

You can shop some of the other fabulous MZ Wallace bags below.

This post was brought to you by Nordstrom,  all opinions and thoughts are my own!

Fish Taco Bowls

Get ready to have your minds blown.  If you love fish tacos you will love this decomposed bowl version.  They were so delicious!  Now if it were up to me I would have served these over brown rice but Matt has an aversion to brown rice and wheat bread (typical man) - he likes all things white so I obliged him with white rice.  You can add whatever toppings you like but I loved this combo. We used Mahi for our fish which we both love but any white fish would work fine!  I chopped and assembled all the toppings ahead of time and popped it in the fridge so all I had to do at dinner was cook the fish and rice- easy weeknight meal!  The bowls were so fresh tasting and full of flavor.
Enjoy!

Ingredients

2 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons cumin
Dash of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes
Pinch of garlic powder
1-2 pounds Mahi fillets (or other white fish such as tilapia)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Olive oil
3 green onions, chopped
1 cup cherry tomatoes, chopped
1 cup frozen corn, thawed, or fresh corn cut off the cob
1 15 ounce can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 cup shredded white cheddar cheese ( I love cabot or cracker barrel)
2 cups cooked rice
Avocado diced (I drizzled with lime juice to prevent from browning before dinner)
Sliced jalapenos
Hot sauce or salsa

In a small bowl combine chili powder, cumin, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder.  Drizzle fish with olive oil and then sprinkle evenly over fish add salt and pepper to taste.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.   Bake fish about 25 mins until flaky with fork.

Layer rice, all other toppings, and fish in a bowl and top with avocado, jalapenos, and hot sauce or salsa if desired.  Note- the toppings are best served room temperature for this meal.

Obsessions

I am so excited to finally share Frances Moon's announcement.  I worked with Liza at Bon Vivant and could not be more pleased with the final result.  We discussed what I wanted and she designed it from scratch.  She had it printed in gold foil and I just adore it.  Liza is amazing to work with if you need announcements, invitations, note cards,  really anything paper related.  She is uber talented.   You can email her at hello@bonvivantstyle.com.  She also sells some of her premade designs at Novel Downtown on King Street.  Trust me you will be blown away by her work

And I have to give Julia props for the gorgeous newborn picture she took of Frances.  So special that my dear friend happened to be in town right after Frances was born and was able to capture these special moments.  So of course her announcement is one of my obsessions!

Starting today Shopbop is having their big Spend More Save More Sale.  Use code Big Event at Checkout.  Shop Here.  I am gonna bite the bullet on these jeans, and this top.  I am trying to buy investment pieces and those two fit the bill.  This would be a great time to buy the Rag and Bone Harrow or Newbury Booties- I especially love them in this new Sable color.

Love this TB version of the D'Orsay.  You can get 20% off these as part of the Shopbop sale mentioned above.

I could not resist this new Clover Canyon number.  It is gorgeous and fits like a glove.

I am so ready for Summer, hopefully I feel comfortable rocking a bikini again but if not I am all over this Zinke one piece.

I live tee shirt dresses in the Summer.  They are so light weight and easy.  This version by Wilt is perfect because it is not too fitted, nothing worse than a clingy tee dress showing all your bulges.

This is the perfect slouchy tee and a great price.  It comes in 6 awesome colors!

I am obsessed with this idea from Baublebar where you can actually design your own earrings for only $38!  There are so many great color combos, design away. I would choose this purple and brown mix.

I am so excited I just found my favorite jeans in the best shade of winter white.  Perfect to wear now and later!  I bet they are super flattering for white jeans!

They now have my favorite Zella Jacket in a great new shade of pink perfect for Spring.  I am so gonna need this!

Scenes From Our Weekend

Happy Monday.  I hope everyone had an excellent weekend, we certainly did.  I caught up on organizing and cleaning house which is such a good feeling.  After all our events last weekend we wanted a weekend with minimal plans!!

Friday Caycee and I hit up Lee Lee's Hot Kitchen for lunch. Let me tell you  it was incredible.  I will be frequenting there!  We shared the ginger beef and green bean chicken and both were off the hook.  If you love Chinese food you must check this place out, it was so fresh.

Friday night we made Crock Pot Chicken Philly Cheesesteaks and they were so good.  Plus they were so easy.  The meat was super tender and flavorful.  You can get the recipe HERE.

I wore my red Tieks in honor of Heart Awareness month.  If you don't have Tieks you need a pair they are my favorite ballet flats.  Super comfortable and they come in the best colors!

Ever since turning 4, a certain someone has been very bossy and had a major attitude- this is a common look he gives me.  He thinks he is the boss, its a constant struggle.

Frances Moon turned 3 months and I can't believe how fast time is flying. She is still the sweetest baby ever, always smiling.

Saturday I went to my dear friends baby shower.  I was so proud of my wrap job I made Matt take a picture!  Wrapping paper is from Homegoods, they always have the best paper selection!

I made the mistake of buying the mini Cadbury eggs, lord help me I can't stop eating them.  The new dark chocolate ones are incredible.  I need to try the white chocolate ones next.

I got super lucky and scored this Jonathan Adler Kangaroo at TJmaxx.  I was ecstatic.  It looks just perfect in Frances Moon's nursery.

Gap is having their big kids semi-annual Sale and there are some great deals.  A few of my favorites.

Have a great start to your week!

Saturdays Steals and Splurges

First off Charleston just got a Madewell store and I could not be more pumped.  I stopped in to check it out this week and was in heaven.  I tried on a few things and was blown away by their tee shirts.  I picked up this one and adore it.  Oddly enough it is onsale online but not in the stores.  Runs on the large side I got an XS.  It is such a great classic striped tee.  Plus Madewell is offering free shipping thru the weekend.

I can't believe how cheap these glasses are now on Serena and Lily.   They were originally $68 and now only $18.99 for 4!  I love the taller version as well.

also love this wood and laquer tray.  It is a huge steal too was $148 now $44. It would look so good with a cheese and meat spread on it!

Neiman Marcus is having their big beauty event.   If you spend $125 you get this awesome free bag filled with great samples!  Shop HERE

A great time to buy Clu De Peau Concealor.  I swear by this stuff!  A splurge but worth every penny plus a container will last me a whole year.

Neiman Marcus Last call is having a huge sale prices are already up to 75% off then you get an additional 25% off!  I own this Vince Sweater and wear it all the time!
I love this Vince Dress.  Such a great closet staple.

NDM Style: Charcoal + Black

Happy Friday Friends!!  I am hoping we will have some nice weather this weekend!  Lately I have been obsessed with finding the perfect tee shirt and jeans.  I feel like as a stay at home mom of two that is my daily uniform.  A tee shirt and jeans can be totally dowdy if you don't have the right ones.  I am pretty smitten with my outfit today.  The jeans and tee are on constant rotation in my wardrobe.

The jeans are the JBrand Maria High Rise in black.  As far as JBrand jeans go the Marias are my favorite.  They suck you in majorly because of the high waist and are very flattering.  My mom swears by them too.

This tee is my latest obsession.  Rag and Bone tees are the absolute best.  They are soft and fit so well for a casual yet not sloppy look.  I just love the charcoal gray color it goes with everything!  It runs true to size but keep in mind it is not meant to be a fitted tee.  I am wearing a size small.

Behold, my new favorite bracelet combo.  These three have not left my arms since I was in Charlotte.  Wish I had painted my nails after looking at this picture:)

Does Kate Spade ever make a bad purse??  I think not.  This is quite possibly the perfect black clutch.  It is big enough for day or evening.
Kate Spade Clutch old but similar here, here and here

and last but not least the booties.  Rag and Bone Harrow Booties, a splurge but worth every penny.  They run on the smaller side so order up a half size if you are in between.

A perfect outfit for running errands during the day but cute enough to wear out at night.  All of these items are favorites in my closet that get heavy rotation.  Trust me you will wear the heck out of this tee and jeans!
