If I had a Million Dollars

I would spend alot of it on handbags. I just love a purse. Even on a fat day you still feel fabulous if you are carrying a great purse. I am also a strong believer in spending more on a really nice purse that you will love for years to come. I still love my Louis Vuitton I bought in college. Nice designer purses always withstand the test of time. For their fall collections, all the designers have really knocked my socks off with all their gorgeous purses. Here are a few on my probably never going to get wish list:)

PRADA NAPPA GAUFRE TOTE

CHLOE PARATY MEDIUM TOTE

GUCCI 1973 MEDIUM SHOULDER FLAP BAG

GUCCI SIENNA LARGE SHOULDER BAG

YVES ST LAURENT ROADY LARGE NUBUCK HOBO

DIOR GRANVILLE MEDIUM TOTE
DIOR DELICES GAUFRE CANNAGE LAMBSKIN TOTE The best thing about having a nice purse is your child will use it as a bean bag chair and not appreciate the beauty of it! But anything that keeps him occupied for more than 5 minutes makes me happy!

Random Friday

I am just going to go ahead and warn you, this post is all over the place today. I think this heat is making my brain fried. So get ready for some pure randomness.

I made Gwynnie's Blueberry Muffins from My Father's Daughter this week and I was so disappointed. Don't be fooled by how pretty they look.

Matt hit it right on the nail when he said they tasted like they were made with cornbread. They were just a weird texture. I am wondering if my flour was old, I keep it in a container so I have no bag with a date on it. Has this happened to anyone else with old flour? I hate that I wasted a pint of blueberries because we ended up throwing the muffins away. I am willing to try the recipe again with new flour and see if that was the issue. But this guy sure liked them even if we didn't.

My forever 21 dress came and it was as I expected very thin material. I think the dress is super cute and I love the color, but I didn't realize how see-thru the top part was going to be. I mean you can pretty much see my bra. I can wear my nude spanx slip on the bottom but how would you address the issue up top?? I think it would look stupid with a tank top underneath and you would see the lines of the tank. I am stumped. The dress was so cheap I didn't feel like paying to send it back so I am trying to work with what I got. A good lesson to buy in store at F21.

My Tilly Maison Lucite tray came in the mail yesterday and I absolutely love it! I think I am going to put it in our bathroom. I am already dreaming of what I want to order from her next.

Tonight we having hot dogs with truffled tator tots for dinner. One of my favorite meals ever!

I am thinking about ordering the Clinton Street Baking Company Cookbook.

I read a great write-up in House Beautiful about it that peaked my interest. They are a locally owned restaurant in NYC that apparently has an off the hook breakfast. Their pancakes are one of the main things they are famous for. Curious if anyone has this book or any thoughts on it?

I have a new guilty pleasure and please don't judge me but I kind of love the Ice loves Coco show on E. It is way more entertaining than I thought it would be and they actually seem like a sweet couple. I swear any reality TV show can suck me.

Is that enough randomness for this Friday? I warned you this post was gonna be rando. Have a great weekend Lovelies! xoxo

I want to get my Trellis on

I know this pattern is nothing new, but it's official I am obsessed with Kelly Wearstler's Imperial Trellis print. Well, really I am in love with anything Kelly designs, but especially this pattern!

I love it in every fashion and form:
As Curtains

For Pillows
I found a great seller on Etsy called decorativeinstincts that makes fabulous pillows with the trellis fabric for only $65 a pillow. Check them out HERE. I love these pillows and think they would look great indoors or outdoors.

Do you love this pattern as much as I do? And how would you use it in your home? I am thinking wallpaper is my first choice then curtains!

Asparagus, Scallion and Cucumber Salad

I feel like as of lately I have been sharing some pretty unhealthy recipes, ie Oreo Balls and Spinach Artichoke Wontons. I promise I don't eat like that all the time, although I would like to! I thought I would switch things up this week with a healthy salad recipe. I have had this recipe saved for probably two years now, so what better time to try it out than after my binge fest week of my brother's wedding! I love asparagus, it is one of my favorite veggies. And for all you wine lovers like me, asparagus is one of the best veggies you can eat to clean and detox your liver. Enough said, I eat it at least once a week to soak up all the wine I drink. This salad was way tastier than I thought it would be. The dressing is so good and the cucumber and scallions pair perfect with the asparagus. This is the perfect light summer salad. So go get your asparagus on and clean that liver.

ASPARAGUS, SCALLION AND CUCUMBER SALAD

INGREDIENTS

Dressing
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
3/4 tablespoon red wine vinegar
3/4 teaspoon Dijon mustard
3/4 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
Salad
2 pounds medium asparagus, trimmed
2 cups thinly sliced green onions
2 cups 1/4-inch cubes peeled seeded Kirby or English hothouse cucumbers
1 tablespoon chopped fresh Italian parsley
1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
2 teaspoons chopped fresh tarragon

DIRECTIONS

1.For dressing: Whisk first 5 ingredients in small bowl. Gradually whisk in oil.

2.For salad: Fill large bowl with lightly salted ice water; stir until salt dissolves. Cook asparagus in large pot of boiling salted water until crisp-tender, about 3 minutes. Drain, reserving 3 cups cooking liquid.

3.Transfer asparagus to bowl of salted ice water to cool.*

4.Place green onions in another large bowl; pour hot reserved asparagus cooking liquid over onions and let stand until cool, about 30 minutes. Drain asparagus and green onions well. Transfer onions to clean kitchen towel and squeeze dry.*

5.Combine green onions, cucumbers, and herbs in mixing bowl. Add dressing; toss to coat. Season with salt and pepper.

6.Arrange asparagus on platter. Spoon cucumber mixture over and serve.

** I didn't have tarragon so I left it out and I thought the salad still tasted great. It saved well too, as I ate it for dinner one night and lunch the next day and it was still tasty.**

Obsessions

It's that time of the week again for me to share my current obsessions, so here it goes!

CHANEL PURSE
I have been wanting a Chanel purse for as long as I can remember. I can't decide if I like the bigger version better or the smaller quilted one. Lucky LC owns both. Either way they are both on my wishlist!! Hopefully I will own a Chanel purse one day!

HORN NECKLACE
Ever since seeing my girl Gwennie in her horn necklace I have been on the hunt for one. I think it looks cute with everything. I found one cheap one at F21 and a bit more expensive one at ABS. Thoughts on which one is cuter?

FLIP FLOP WINES
I blogged about this wine a few months ago. Last week I was lucky enough to be sent samples of the Chardonnay and Cabernet and they did not disappoint. I loved the Chardonnay. You can't beat a wine that is only $7.99 and for every bottle you buy a pair of shoes is donated. A genuis concept really. I will be serving flipflop wines at all my playgroups!

CHARLESTON PICKLE COMPANY COLD POUR PICKLES
These pickles are made locally here in Charleston (not sure if they are sold in other cities in the South yet, so sorry to tease my non-local readers). They are cold pour pickles meaning the pickles are pickled without heat. This results in a pickle that retains it's color, structure and taste without any preservatives or chemicals. and they use organic cucmbers! These are the freshiest pickles you will ever taste. If you love pickles you must give these a try. I snack on them daily for my salty fix.

PINTEREST
Anybody else totally hooked on this site yet? It is addictive. It is such a great way to catalog things you love! It is filled with so many fabulous ideas, pretty spaces, and great recipes! A few of my recent favs:
Crock Pot Mac and Cheese, umm yes please

Adorable party idea. Who doesn't love sweet 16 doughnuts? Totally doing this at Sterling's next birthday party.

Anniversary + Weekend Pics

Today marks my one year blogging anniversary! Hard to believe I started this little blog a year ago hoping that just my friends and family would read it and now I have over 300 followers. I am so flattered that you all care to read what I write! Blogging has been such a wonderful experience for me. All you fellow bloggers are constantly inspiring me and I learn so much from each and every one of you! This has been such a great creative outlet for me now that I am a stay at home mom. I truly value all our "friendships" and your comments always make my day! So thanks for reading, inspiring me and motivating me! I am thankful to be a part of this crazy blogging world and have you girls in my life. I love you gals!

Now on to our weekend! We had a fabulous weekend filled with two playdates, a cook out at a friend's house and a fathers day lunch at our house! So much for a low key weekend, right?

This is my new favorite outfit. I seriously wear it once a week. I wore it to our Father's Day lunch yesterday and maybe Monday too (don't judge). Tibi Blouse, JBrand Rolled Cuff Jean Shorts, Tory Burch Flats.
Sterling giving Matt some fatherly love on Father's Day

I did manage to get a little love on Father's Day too!
My two favorite men

Sterling rocking his Tom Brady hair do as we like to call it.

Not quite sure about this whole sharing thing.
We are trying to teach Sterling the importance of not drinking and driving but I don't think he gets it. This party animal would not set Mommy's wine glass down!

My little man was completely exhausted from all his playdates and busy weekend! Yes, I am totally that crazy mom that still takes pictures of her child sleeping at night! I can't help it he is so darn sweet when he is sleeping!

I hope you all had a great weekend and special fathers day too!
