Bacon + Zucchini + Spinach Quiche | Mara Hoffman Sale | Favorite Workout Pants Back in Stock

I used to make quiches all the time but honestly it had been forever since I made one.  I forgot how easy they are to make and how delicious.   While Sterling was eating his piece he said "I wish you would make this every night, it is so good."  I was shocked this kid doesn't even really like scrambled eggs but he loved the quiche and it was filled with green veggies- major win.
Quiches are awesome because you can really do any filling you want.  This is a great way to use up some end of Summer squash and zucchini.   Bacon and cheese just make everything taste better so of course I threw in lots of both!
Enjoy!

- 1 pie crust (in the refrigederator section)
- 2 small zucchini, sliced
- 2 small squash, sliced
- 1 shallot, diced
- 2 cups fresh spinach
- 10-12 pieces bacon (I just use the Boars Head microwave kind)
- 4 oz gruyere cheese
- 4 oz mozzarella cheese
- 6 eggs
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 tablespoons whole wheat flour (regular all purpose is fine too)
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- salt and pepper

Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a skillet.   Add in the shallot, squash and zucchini.  Cook over medium heat until tender about 10-12 minutes.  Add in the spinach at the end and cook until it wilts.  Add in red pepper flakes and salt and pepper.

Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Place pie shell in pie dish.  Bake for 5 minutes and remove from heat.

Whisk together all 6 eggs.  Add in milk, flour, baking powder, salt, pepper and cheese.  Stir all together then add in the zucchini/spinach mixture.  Mix well.  Stir in crumbled bacon and then pour all into the pie shell.

Bake at 350 degrees 35-45 minutes until eggs have set and top is golden.  About halfway through I covered mine with foil so the crust wouldn't burn.

Mara Hoffman is running a huge end of Summer Sale.

This tank is also 50% off was $178 now $88.  I am wearing a small.
This stars dress is now 70% off.  I am wearing an XS.  It also comes in a pretty pink color as well. You could wear this style dress well into Fall paired with a cardigan or leather jacket and booties.
It was $264, now $79.

I bought these high waisted workout leggings during the Anniversary sale and they quickly sold out.  They are now back in stock in all sizes and colors.  I am all about some high waisted work out pants because they suck you in and they are super flattering too.  I have the olive green color but black is definitely my favorite too.  They run TTS, I am wearing a small.

I also really like these ones with the cut-out leg detail.
I always gravitate towards neutral pants but whenever I see people wearing fun patterns I think it looks so cute.  These 4 patterns in the high waisted style are all really fun!

Obsessions | Fall Pieces for Now and Later

I love Fall, it is hands down my favorite season.  I love the cool crisp air, the upcoming holidays and changing leaves.  Sadly in Charleston we have a few more months of heat before we see any real Fall temps.  Fall is also one of my favorite seasons to shop for.  Since the climate in Charleston is fairly mild I like pieces that can be worn now with our warmer temperatures and well into Fall.  This dress is one of those items.

I love how easy this dress.  I bought it about a month ago and it has stayed in heavy rotation.  It is fully lined with a slip which is nice.  It also comes in this blue/white color option.  I chose the black because I felt like it would carry well into Fall.  I found this ran slightly on the large side, I am wearing an XS.  Come Fall I plan to wear this with booties and maybe even black tights.

My hat is the one I bought during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale.   I was hesitant about buying a hat but I can't tell you how much I have worn this one.  It looks cute with everything.  If you are wanting to try a hat out this one is not expensive either.

A few other Fall favorites that would be great for now and later.

I just ordered these in the tan, so I will show them soon in an outfit post.  I liked the simplicity and chunky heel.
This comes in about 7 different colors/patterns.  The red stripe is my favorite and you can't beat the price at under $50.

I mentioned these last week and I finally ordered the pink but I also love this blue color.

These are perfect for now and into Fall.  They come in 3 colors and are under $100.
This is a great light weight tunic.  I think it would be great paired with leggings or skinny jeans.   It also comes in a beautiful olive oil color.

I love the detail on this purse.  It also comes in gray and black,  and isn't crazy expensive.
I love the ruffle detail on this on blouse.

I always love a shift dress, they are so classic. This dress has a cut-out back to jazz it up a bit.  I think you could easily wear this plain or dress it up with fun jewelry.
These JBrand Jeans are a long time favorite of mine and I love that they are out in some new colors for Fall.  I especially love the red and brown colors.
I am a sucker for this pink color.

The cream color paired with the embroidery is such a great combo.
I love my hat so much I am tempted to buy another one in a different color.  This style is almost identical to mine and it is under $40.  It comes in several different colors too.  I love this ivory.

This dress is only $40 and the color is perfect.

Scenes From Our Weekend

Can y'all believe that September starts this week??  Oh my gosh, I am having major anxiety over how fast this year is flying by!!  It is going to be Christmas in the blink of eye.  Truth be told we had a really low key weekend, not one single plan.  It honestly was nice, sometimes you need a weekend with nothing to do.

Thursday night we enjoyed some time out on our patio while we waited for pizza to be delivered.  I am wearing the gray jeans I blogged about Friday.  I just love the light color.

Friday after school I took the kids to Jeni's ice cream.  I had been promising them ice cream all week.  I have been trying to not eat many sweets but I just could not resist.  I had the Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks and it was simply amazing.
Friday night OOTD.  my tee shirt is now on sale 40% off and only $21 now:)

Saturday morning the boys went to the beach to look for shark's teeth so Frances and I went to the gym and ran a few errands.  I let her wear her Princess costume and she was so excited.  I love her infectious smile.  These pictures just make me happy every time I look at them.

Saturday night we made our favorite Cauliflower Tacos but with lettuce instead of shells.  I didn't even miss the shell.

Saturdays OOTD.  This tee shirt dress has my go-to dress this Summer and it is now on sale!  I am wearing a size 1 for reference, I would equate that to a size small.

This book has blown me away.  I finished it in 3 days and I swear I am about to read it again, it's that good.

Sunday was a church and pool day.

We stopped by CVS to get a few things and all the Halloween stuff was out.  We had a little fun with the masks:)

This chopped salad is my new go-to salad.
Chopped spinach + cherry tomatoes + cucumber + red bell pepper + kalamata olives + hearts of palm + pepperoncinis + red onion.  Then I mix olive oil, red wine vinegar and salt and pepper for the dressing.

Who would think a pool float is more fun inside than at the pool?  These two love to play with the floats inside.

Bedtime snuggles.  I honestly cant get over how big Sterling is getting.  He is about to be taller than me soon!

Have a great start to your week!

Saturday Style + Shopping Deals

I hope everyone's Saturday is off to a good start.  Now that school is back in session we are all used to getting up early so even on the weekends the kids are up bright and early.   Today Sterling is off for a fun class on sharks and to hunt shark's teeth and Frances and I are headed to the gym and to run errands.

I have mentioned my love for this burnout tee on here several times before and now it is 40% off!  That makes it only $21!  I have it in white, black and green.
I am wearing a medium because I wanted a loose slouchy fit.  I wore the green last night.

Here is the white version.

Lots of great end of summer sales.  A few items I own and really like are marked down.  If I had a picture of myself wearing the item I included it so you could see how it fits.

Piper Dress also HERE in more sizes
I have a small in this dress.  It also comes in red.

I have an XS in this.  This is lined so I think you might could wear it as a dress but it is pretty short on me so I wear it as a cover-up.  It also comes in blue.

I love these wedges because they are comfortable and not too high.

I am wearing them here, they are great with dresses and jeans.

These white jeans are my absolute favorite.  I actually love all the McGuire jeans because they fit so well.  These sit a little higher up on your hips and suck in the flab.  They are not see through and they offer the perfect amount to stretch.

Mara Hoffman Swing Dress also here in more sizes
I have this in both colors I love it so much!

I love this stripe tee shirt dress and wear it often.  I have a size 1 and I would equate that to a size small.
It is on sale in a few color options.

I have this in the pink/white version and love it.  The orange version is on sale.  Size down as it runs large I have an XS.

Marysia Swim is my favorite.  This is now 70% off.
I love the beautiful colors in this blouse!!  I have an XS in small in this style.

I don't own this dress but I have had my eye on it for awhile.  It is the same style as my blouse above. I like the Navy for Fall.

I don't own this dress either but I really like the style.  You could wear this well into Fall.  It would be really cute paired with booties.

Happy Saturday and Happy Shopping!
