Obsessions

Hope you all had a nice and relaxing 4th of July weekend. We took the boat out, went to a pool party, grilled out with some friends and watched the fireworks, it was a perfect long weekend.

PURPLE + GRAY COLOR COMBO
I am really loving this color combination for interiors which is funny because I am not a huge purple lover. But I love it mixed with subtle gray.

ROCCO DISPIRTO
I have a new chef crush thanks to Bravo. I had heard of Rocco before but didn't know too much about him. I am now hooked on his TV show, Rocco's Dinner Party. He can be kind of an arrogant dick but that makes me like him even more. I think he is so sexy. I have a soft spot for men that know their way around a kitchen.

DANYA DECKER CANDLES
I have a slight obsession with candles. These are my new favorite candles. They have a sleek modern look and smell amazing! They are made with an Eco wood burning wick instead of a regular wick, so they last longer. I have been loving the Yasmin and Tuberose scents.

MILLY BIKINIS
Milly makes some of my favorite bikinis. I am partial to a strapless bikini because I hate a strap tan line. I bought my first Milly bikini 4 years ago right before our honeymoon and I have been hooked ever since. They fit perfectly and look cute. Here is my new favorite.

NARS EYELINER + BRONZER
I have had the hardest time finding an eyeliner that I like. One that is not too thick and goes on smooth. I have tried gel, the flat liner kind you wet, you name it I have tried them all. Oddly enough my new favorite is a good ole black pencil by Nars. It goes on perfectly smooth. Their bronzer is also amaze, it is the perfect color without being too orange.

HOMEMADE RESSES CUPS
Enough said, I am making these this week, even though I am supposed to be on a diet after my binge filled weekend. I can't resist. I love a Reese's Cup and I imagine these are scrumptious.

Proud to be an American

On this 4th of July there are so many things I am thankful for. I am beyond grateful to our troops over seas fighting so hard for our freedom and this free nation we live in. They risk their lives daily for us. For that I am forever proud and thankful for the future they are giving my son. We are so incredibly blessed and lucky to live in this wonderful country. I heart the USA.

Orange Crush

Normally I am not an orange girl at all. Especially for interiors I tend to gravitate more towards blues and grays but lately I have been loving this burnt orange color. Tibi's new line sparked my interest, when I saw these beauties. I mean I seriously need that one shoulder dress.

Then I came across all these gorgeous interiors and I am kind of loving the pop of orange. I could never commit to this in a whole room but I am thinking a few accents like pillows or lamps would be fab!

I most definitely love orangish nails. Chanel's Orange Fizz is one of my favorite summer colors.

And one of my favorite drinks is a mimosa, so maybe I am orange girl after all??

What are your thoughts on orange? Yay or nay?

Kale Chips

This is a record, two healthy recipes two weeks in a row! I finally had some time yesterday afternoon and made Gwynnie's Kale Chips out of My Father's Daughter. These were so easy to make and even tastier than I expected. This is a great way to get your kids to eat a veggie because it crunches like a cracker or chip. I couldn't stop eating them, but hey nothing to feel bad about its just kale, one of the best veggies you can eat.

Baked Kale Chips
- 1 bunch Kale, stems discarded and leaves roughly torn into about 1.5 inch pieces
- Olive oil
- Salt

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Toss the Kale with olive oil and spread onto two baking sheets. Sprinkle with salt and roast 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned and crispy. Eat like potato chips.

**Make sure you tear the kale into big enough pieces because it does shrink as it cooks. I tore some of mine too small and it was hard to get off the pan.**

Obsessions

You would think I would start to run out of obsessions each week, but that is not the case. There is always something new I am loving!

Braided Hair
Lately I have been wearing my hair in a side braid. It is great way to deal with dirty hair, because lets face it I don't wash my hair everyday. My hubby loves it probably because I look like a 16 year old but I don't care its the perfect do for the summer! My inspiration, the gorgeous Rebecca Romain.

my take on it

Mary McDonald
Is anybody else obsessed with Million Decorators? It is my favorite show on TV right now. I really love every single decorator on the show, but I especially love Mary. She is fabulous and her designs are always something I would want in my house.

A few of my favorite Mary designs

Caftans
I don't own one of these beauties yet but I am hoping to get one during a summer sale. I love the effortless look of them. They are great for a beach cover-up or to wear out running errands.

Tibi and Raquel Allegra Caftans

Skinny Cow Heavenly Crisps
These wafer bars are so tasty. They are the perfect sweet treat after a meal. They only have 110 calories so you don't have to feel too guilty about eating them. I love the PB flavor.

Titos Vodka
If I am not drinking wine, I am usually drinking vodka. I like my vodka straight up with lemon and maybe a splash of seltzer. Since I really don't like mixers in my vodka, I prefer good quality vodka. I used to be a Grey Goose kind of girl until I heard about Titos. We did a blind taste test with Titos and Grey Goose and we all choose Titos. It is the smoothest vodka ever. A half gallon is only $29.95, so it is cheaper than Gray Goose and Ketel One too. I highly recommend this if you like vodka.
