Vegetable and Hummus Tart

This has been my lunch as of lately. Except for I cheat and use Naan Bread as the crust instead of making homemade. I usually just use whatever veggies I have at home. My standard tart usually consists of onion, spinach, tomatoes, red bell pepper, kalamata olives and feta cheese. The orginal recipe doesn't call for cheese but I think cheese makes everything taste better! I really think any combo of veggies would work wonderfully for this. This is such a tasty and easy lunch. I have also been on a kick of making my own hummus. I use Ina's recipe and it is fabulous! The combo of the hummus and veggies is ridiculously good! Best part my little man gobbles this stuff up, he loves hummus on anything, so this ensures he gets his veggies for the day!

VEGETABLE AND HUMMUS TART
Adapted From E Curry Blog
INGREDIENTS
Naan Bread or make your own (Recipe HERE)
Hummus- Recipe below
Spinach
Tomatoes
Red Pepper
Red Onion
Kalamata Olives
Feta Cheese
Parmesan Cheese

DIRECTIONS
Saute or roast all veggies until tender. I usually saute mine in olive oil because it is quicker than roasting. Note- I usually don't cook my tomatoes I just slice them and lay over the top of the cooked veggies. Spread Hummus on Naan Bread. Layer on Veggies, Olives and top with Parmesan and Feta Cheese. Bake at 350 degrees about 15 mins or until cheese is melted.

You can view the original recipe HERE.

Hummus
Ingredients
4 garlic cloves
2 cups canned chickpeas, drained, liquid reserved
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
1/3 cup tahini (sesame paste)
6 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice (2 lemons)
2 tablespoons water or liquid from the chickpeas
8 dashes hot sauce
Directions
Turn on the food processor fitted with the steel blade and drop the garlic down the feed tube; process until it's minced. Add the rest of the ingredients to the food processor and process until the hummus is coarsely pureed. Taste, for seasoning, and serve chilled or at room temperature.
**My hummus was extra thick so I added in olive oil and extra water to loosen it up to the consistency I prefer.**

Obsessions

Hard to believe it is October already!! Where has this year gone? I mean seriously it is going to be Christmas before we know it!

SEVEN "THE SKINNY" JEANS
A few of you emailed me asking what jeans I was wearing in my post yesterday. They are the Seven for All ManKind "The Skinny" Jeans. I am beyond obsessed with them. I have two of the exact same pair so when one is dirty I have a back up. They suck you in all the right places and sit higher up on your hips so you have no muffin top. These are the best jeans I have ever bought!

CHEVRON WING BACK CHAIRS
I have two old wing back chairs that my parents gave us in our den sitting waiting to be recovered. I have been looking for fabric inspiration and this just might be it. I love the modern pattern on an older style chair. Gorgeous!

ASOS.COM
Ok I must be living under a rock because I just found this website. Their prices are amazing and the clothes are so cute! Has anyone ordered from here before? These are a few things I am eyeing and honestly I could buy them all for the price of one Tucker Dress! The dresses retail for between $50 and $60. They even have petite and maternity sizes.

ROASTED TOMATOES WITH PESTO
I am addicted to these. I have had an abundance of basil from my garden so I have been making tons of fresh pesto. I have eaten these everyday for a week. They are so easy to make and melt in your mouth good. I use Ina's Recipe HERE.

ELK COVE PINOT NOIR
We did a red wine tasting at our house Saturday and this was the favorite red wine. It is perfect for these cooler temperatures. It had great flavor and a smooth finish. One of the better Pinot Noirs I have had lately. I think it retails for about $16.

Put A Bow on It

Happy Monday Friends. Hope your weekends were as great as ours! Good news the recipe tab is up and running. Please give me feedback if you think it should be organized differently. I did it by categories like appetizer, main course etc. This should make locating my recipes alot easier for you!

Now back to the topic at hand, bows. Anyone else obsessed with the bow-neck blouse?

To me this is the most stylish outfit ever and I plan to totally copy it!

Here are a few bow-neck blouses I have been eyeing.
MARC BY MARC JACOBS MICHAELA SILK BLOUSE
I love the red color of this blouse. Jewel tones are my favorite for fall.

RACHEL ZOE TIE COLLAR BLOUSE
Of course I love Rachel Zoe's version of the tie-neck blouse and I think the ivory would go with everything. It reminds me of the blouse in my inspiration picture!

MARC JACOBS PANTHER BLOUSE
Ever since seeing Blair from Atlantic Pacific wear this blouse it has been on my lust list!

MILLY MARZIA BOW JACKET
I have eyeing this jacket for weeks. I think I might bite the bullet and order it. It is so chic and I think it could be dressy or casual with skinny jeans.

In other news I found a new line of blouses I love called Gemma. I wore this Gemma Blue Blouse Saturday night. I found my blouse at Monkee's out on Daniel Island awhile back.

They have this version on Piperlime and I think its adorable. I am thinking about adding it to my ever growing blouse collection! The blouse is such a cute fit and I love the gray geometric pattern.

Can you tell I have a serious love affair going on with blouses? They make the perfect chic outfit with jeans! Which tie-neck blouse do you like the best if I buy one?

Thoughts For Friday

I wanted to share pictures from the wedding we attended last weekend which was amazing. Truly one of the best weddings I have been to, but of course I forgot my camera. I did manage to snag two pics of Matt and I on my IPhone. I went with the black one shoulder dress. Voting was mixed and in the end I had to trust my mom and sister's opinions, so the black dress won (yes, I did wear a one-shoulder dress both nights:).

Last night Matt and I finally watched Bridesmaids. Holy crap that movie was funny. There are so many things I want to discuss like the weird foreign brother and sister Kristen Wing lived with, the plane flight scene, and the mom with the 3 boys. Lets just say Matt and I both loved the movie. If you have not seen it please rent it asap!

For dinner we cooked some Truffled Lobster Ravioli I picked up at the Charleston Farmers Market. We made a white wine butter sauce to serve it with it and was ridiculously good. Local readers you should definitely check out the pasta stand at the Charleston Farmers Market. I am super excited because I am headed back Saturday to score some more goodies!

**Note that is not our ravioli picture I scarfed it down before I thought to take a picture!**

Last weekend in Blowing Rock I ended up at an Old Navy Store. Now I am normally not an Old Navy shopper, I usually never have luck there. Since there were no other shops in sight I browsed. I found this dress on sale for $14.00. I need an honest opinion, are the stripes too much? Is the dress too 1980's? I kind of liked it and thought it reminded me of Marc Jacobs/PRADA stripes but I am not totally sold. I know it was cheap but is it cute? I pictured it with high heeled booties for fall. Be honest because I am happy to return it!

US Weekly is reporintg Nicole Ritchie had a boob job and from the pictures it looks true. I am surprised as she doesn't seem the type to me to want big boobs.

My little man is totally ready for Halloween. He loved playing with my mom's pumpkins and gourds while we were home last weekend. His costume is another story! I need to get on it!

Lastly, does anyone have suggestions for getting their Toddler to brush their teeth? I can get Sterling to brush his teeth for maybe 10 secs before he clamps up! It is a struggle every night! Any advice is much appreciated!

Happy Weekend! Hope it is a great one!

Fall Style Round-up

There are a few standout styles I am gaga over this fall.

ONE: FUR VESTS
Rachel Zoe is forever sporting Fur Vests. Now I am not sure I can pull off a vest as big and puffy as hers but I love Olivia's black vest. I think a black fur vest looks so chic with an all black outfit and cute shoes!

HALSTON HERITAGE FUR VEST

TWO: STRIPES + BLAZERS
I adore this combo. I think it is such a polished look.

ELIZABETH AND JAMES BLAZER

A.L.C STRIPPED SHIRT

THREE: RED + CAMEL
I love this color combo!! J Crew has some great red and camel outfit ideas like this outfit.

CHUNKY CASHMERE CREWNECK

CAFE CAPRI

FOUR: MUSTARD YELLOW DRESS
Just found out the pink H&M dress I blogged about also comes in this fabulous mustard yellow. I love this color for fall! The perfect fall shade of yellow.

ZARA V-BACK DRESS

TIBI ONE SHOULDER DRESS
I think this dress would be perfect for a fall wedding! and it's on sale right now!

FIVE: SCARF + LEGGINGS + BOOTS
This casual look may just be my favorite because I know I will be sporting it all fall. It is comfortable and looks stylish! The perfect Mommy go-to outfit!

Vince makes some of my favorite tees because they are long enough to wear with leggings.
VINCE BOATNECK T-SHIRT

VINCE WHITE TEE

DVF SCARF

STEVE MADDEN INTYCE BOOTS
These are my favorite flat boots. I have them in the cognac color pictured and light tan and wear them both all the time. They work perfect over leggings and jeans! If you need boots for fall I highly suggest these!

What are your favorite fall trends? Will you be sporting any of these?
