Scenes From Our Weekend

I totally thought the Full Moon was going to set me into labor this weekend but alas I was wrong. I think this little lady is staying in my belly til her due date or later, just like her big brother. I guess I just don't have babies early!  I have tried to stay busy and not think too much about the fact that I am about to birth another baby and that scares me!

Friday night we had a super relaxing evening and ordered pizza.  I devoured my favorite a Margherita pizza.
I went on a 2 mile walk everyday this weekend trying to get this baby to drop aka come out.  This is my view these days.

Received the sweetest package in the mail from Shop Poppy Styles.  I am obsessed with her bangles.  You can check out her website HERE.  Aren't these gorgeous??

Saturday I had a wild hair to host a small dinner party with some friends and my sister in law.  Probably crazy at 39 weeks pregnant but I figure once the baby comes I may not be entertaining much!
We tried out a new recipe for Braised Beef Tacos that was amazing.  I will share it Wednesday!  We braised the beef all day and made homemade pickled onions to go with it.  The flavors were awesome!

Matt got some practice having two kids with Sterling and our nephew Drew.  He looks like a natural right?

Sunday I spent some quality time with Sterling while Matt worked.  We went to see Free Birds, it was such a cute movie, I highly recommend!  Sterling has been sweet lately loving on me and talking to the baby.  He even sat in my lap for the whole movie. I swear he knows his solo time is limited with me.  This makes me kind of sad but also grateful that it has just been me and him for the past 3.5 years.

After the movie I promised him we would start decorating for Christmas and we did just that!  I love the holidays and getting to enjoy my decorations even earlier this year is an added bonus.

Happy Monday!
I love this quote so very appropriate with Thanksgiving right around the corner!

Weekend Style Files: What I Wore OOTD

Two recent finds I wanted to share with ya'll. I wore them both Thursday night to my friend WayWay's art show and got lots of compliments.  I know I will get so much wear out of both of them! Both are currently on sale so get em while they are hot!

I love both separately but together I think they make for a pretty sweet outfit.
I wore this outfit with My Chinese Laundry D'Orsay Flats but it would have looked even better with my Rag and Bone Booties but alas I could not fit my swollen feet in them!
On sale right now for 40% off!  Such a great versatile Dress.  Would be fab at the Holidays with a fun red or green statement necklace.  Plus it is so comfortable.  Definitely works for pregnancy too because it has some stretch.  Runs true to size I am wearing a small.

I stalked this necklace forever waiting for it to go on sale.  Love it and its vintage feel.  You can get additional 40% off the sale price of it with code STYLETIME.  This is a huge steal!

JCrew has some awesome deals on jewelry right now!  A great time to buy a fun piece for the holidays or to save as a gift for someone!  You get to take additional 40% off prices below with code STYLETIME!

Baby Girl's Nursery Reveal!!

I am excited to finally show you guys the nursery today!  After months of planning and putting ideas and thoughts in my mind to reality the nursery is completed and I could not be happier.  I am pretty darn smitten with this space for my little lady.  I kind of wish it were my room.
I really tried to stay on a pretty tight budget for this room and luckily I did not have to buy any furniture I just used what was from Sterling's nursery.  Most of the accessories in the room came from TJMaxx and Homegoods so that saved money.   Recovering the Rocking Chair was our biggest expense but worth it!  It is so special to me that it was my Great Grandmothers, same as the changing table,  it belonged to my Grandfather.  This room makes me so happy,  now I just need a sweet little baby to live in it now!

One of my favorite parts of the room is the star decals on the ceiling.  It looks like Osbourne and Little Star Wallpaper right?  The stars are from a company called Urban Walls and they were so easy to install (thanks to my Dad).  I highly recommend them.  They come in so many different patterns but I was especially fond of the gold stars for a nursery.

I have to thank Lulu and Georgia for my two other favorite pieces in the room, the rug and light fixture.  I feel like the two together really made the room stand out!  They are excellent quality.  I could even see myself moving that rug to our den one day I love it so much!

My dear friend Katie did two of the pieces of artwork in the nursery and they are so special to me because she painted them.  Gotta love having talented friends.  You can view her gallery of work HERE.

She and I will share a closet (the joys of a small house) so I just included a picture of her half of the closet because I am sure some of you wanted to see her wardrobe.  I still have a bit of organizing to do in the closet but for now it works.  She is going to be one well dressed little lady that is for sure, I have been gifted with and bought some adorable outfits.

I have to give my friend Brook Bertschy big props for helping me out and taking pictures of the nursery.  If you need a photographer in Charleston you should contact her- she always does my pictures of Sterling too.  She is great with kids. Contact Info HERE!

I present to you the elusive nursery.

Sterling and I are pretty happy with the room!

Thoughts For Thursday

Tonight my friend WayWay is hosting her first art show at Novel. She is super talented.  I can promise you, you will love her artwork.  Her Dad is also displaying some of his nude works as well.  Locals you should stop by and if you can't make it, her artwork will be up thru the end of November!

Lately I feel like a ticking time bomb.  It is crazy not knowing when this baby will make her arrival.  I was so excited for the cooler temps here this week.  I finally busted out my BB Dakota Jacket and love it!!  Unfortunately it is sold out but there is an almost identical version HERE.  I paired it with my Missoni Infinity Scarf another favorite.

I have two new favorite food Obsessions:  Haagen Dazs Peanut Butter Pie Ice Cream and Sabra Jalapeno Hummus.  Both are amazing,  try them I promise you will love them!

Please tell me I am not the only fan of Sam Champion on Good Morning America.  I adore him and he is one of the main reasons I watch GMA- that and the fact I can't stand Matt Lauer- so no more Today show for me.  Anyways some pictures were released from his honeymoon and who knew he was hiding such a ripped body under his suits!!

I am not sure I am a loafer gal but part of me wants to try them out they look so comfy and would be so cute for weekend wear.  I would never spend alot on pair since I am not 100% sold on them but how amazing are these two pairs and they are only $25!!

Do your kids love the small grocery carts at the store?  I hate that they even make them it makes my grocery shopping take so much longer. Sterling never wants to ride in a cart any more- I can't even lure him with the rocket ship one.  This is him yesterday with his cart filled with junk food and ready to pay with his credit card:)  Plus we always end up with random stuff he throws in his cart like the crazy straws below.

Normally for Thanksgiving Matt cooks the turkey and I do all the sides.  I love cooking and trying out new sides.  This year since I will either have a super newborn or if she is late possibly be in the hospital over Thanksgiving I decided to delegate dishes to our families to make and I am just making a salad.  I think I am going to try out this Chopped Kale and Collard Greens Salad.

I really want this gold flatware from West Elm.  I have seen it styled on so many tables and it looks gorgeous!  Right now it is on sale too.....

Ok that is all I have for today!

Homemade Big Macs

I figured some of you might be getting sick of my vegetarian recipes and want one with some meat.   Ask and you shall receive.  I posted this picture on Instagram and got an overwhelming response of people wanting the recipe.  This recipe is so easy- well it was easy for me because Matt did all the prep work and cooking.  These burgers were magical, maybe because I hadn't had red meat in two weeks but either way they were good.

A few notes we were lazy and used 1000 Island Dressing instead of making our own Special Sauce. We decided at about 5 that night to make the Big Macs and that didn't give us enough time to let the Special Sauce sit for hours.   It was good with 1000 Island but I imagine it is even better with the homemade sauce, I included the recipe below.   We tried to cut and recreate everything else just like McDonalds.  Finely diced onion and Shredded Iceberg lettuce are key.  As for pickles we found all the pre-sliced jarred kinds tasted processed and funny so we bought the Boars Head Pickle Halves and then sliced them ourselves as thinly as we could, they worked out perfectly.

Take a close look at the picture below that is my stomach poking over the counter:)

|| H O M E M A D E  B I G  M A C S ||

1-2 Pounds Ground Beef (80/20)
1/2 white onion diced
sliced pickles (we used Boars Head Pickle Halves and thinly sliced them)
shredded iceberg lettuce
American Cheese
Sesame Seed Buns
1000 Island Dressing or Special Sauce (recipe below)

Shape meat into balls then flatten into thin flat patties- 2 patties per burger.  Salt and pepper each side of the patties.  Try not to mess too much with the patties while you flatten them it will make them tough.   Lay them on parchment paper after shaping so they are easy to remove and get to grill.  Heat grill cook burgers about 10 minutes 5 on each side or until cooked thru.  Take off grill and top each patty with a slice of American Cheese.  Layer special sauce. lettuce, onions and pickles and first burger patty on bun.  Place middle bun on and repeat layer process.  Add next patty and top bun.

1/2  cup mayo
2 tablespoons French Dressing
4 teaspoons sweet pickle relish
1 tablespoon finely minced onion
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon pepper

combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir well to combine,  Place in a covered container and refrigerate overnight or at least a few hours for flavors to combine.
