Scenes From Our Weekend

We had such a lovely weekend.

Friday I was able to chaperone a field trip with Sterling's school.  It is always so special to have one on one time with him.  We took the kids to Jeremiah Goat Farm out on John's Island and it was so cool. I think I may have enjoyed it more then Sterling.  We got to see their garden and taste all kinds of vegetables and herbs they grew.  We also got to see some goats and feed the baby ones.

Came home to this sweet girl trying to eat toothpaste.
She wants to carry her toothbrush and toothpaste everywhere.
Several of you asked about the sandals Frances was wearing.  They are Salt Waters and such great sandals.  I put Sterling in them too when he was little.  They have a hard sole and are great for new walkers.

Friday night we had Happy with my sister and her husband who were in town for the weekend.
I am totally obsessed with watermelon radishes, they are so pretty and tasty too:)
 Busted out my new runner.

We took the kids to the Yacht Club to let them run around.  We didn't last long because it was so windy.

Saturday we took the kids to the Farmers Market.  On the way we stopped at Glazed.  They have the best doughnuts in town.  The girl working there talked me into trying the beet stuffed doughnut.  I know it sounds weird but it was so good.  The maple bacon is always a favorite and Sterling loves the fresh raspberry one.

Best picture we could get at the Farmers Market.  It was such a gorgeous day out.
Sterling has to ride the pony every time we go!
Wore this outfit both days this weekend.  When I find something I love I live in it.  The blouse is now on sale.

Saturday night we kept my nephew while my sister and husband stayed downtown for their anniversary.  The kids had so much fun together.  I love how close they are.  Taking care of three kids was hard though! No rest for the weary.

Had a fun brunch with the whole crew.
Wearing my new sunglasses, that I love!  Mine are the blush color but they also come in 2 other colors.

Frances was laughing so hard at Finley dancing.

Made one of my all time favorite side dishes for dinner Sunday.  Peas and Pancetta from my girl Ina.

Have a great Monday.

Saturday Favorites

 Happy Saturday!
I first want to mention my black one piece that I wore last weekend is back in stock.  I got several requests about it.  It seems to sell out quickly so buy fast if you want it.  Runs TTS, I am wearing a small.

This Joie Blouse was just reduced.  I am wearing the size small.  It is a great blouse for Summer because it is super light weight, I wear a white cami under mine.

Ray Ban Sunglasses are on sale right now at Nordstroms.
I have the green mirrored ones pictured below and love them.  All colors are on sale.
This Free People Dress was just reduced to 40% off.  My friend Courtney wore the white version in Dallas and I just love it.  Also comes in pink as well.

This Holst and Lee Necklace is calling my name.  I have a similar one that I just adore.  I love the hot pink.  Only three left in stock which of course makes me want it more.

This embroidered top is only $59.  I just ordered the purple version!

and for the babies.  I had to have this tassel shirt for Frances!

Happy Saturday and Happy Shopping!

Thoughts For Frday

TGIF.  I am so excited because my sister and her husband are in town for the weekend.  Nothing makes me happier than having my sister in town!

I am loving all the new arrivals at JCrew this season.  My second romper I ordered arrived and it is perfection.  The material is so soft and I adore the palm pattern.  I am in a size xs, I found their rompers run on the large side.

I stopped watching Greys Anatomy a long time ago.  I realized hospital shows were a horrible idea for a hypochondriac.  I just saw on the previews they are killing off Derek and that makes me so sad.
Dr. McDreamy was the best part of the show.  Anyone still watching?  How does he die?

I could not be happier that it is peony season. They are hands down my favorite flowers.

We leave for trip to the Caribbean in just over a month, so I am full on resort mode shopping.  How amazing is this embroidered one piece?  I know I need to branch out with a bikini but I just love a one piece.

I am all about some of the pre-released songs from the new Mumford and Sons CD.  The cd drops May 4th and I can't wait to download the rest.
Believe is so good.

I have become obsessed with this cookbook.

This week I made the California Quinoa Salad for lunch and it was so good.  Such fantastic flavors.

If you are looking for a great Mother's Day gift, check out the boxes my friend Karina from Waffles and Honey makes.  There are 3 different boxes you can chose from and you can customize your charms.  I have the spa box and my necklace has a "s" and "f" for my kids.  The box comes gift wrapped and with adorable goodies.  Such a great gift and a great price under $100.

After being out of town last weekend, I have enjoyed my kids so much more this week.  Sometimes some time apart (although it was hard) is good for everyone.  It made me appreciate all the little moments that much more.

I am so excited about my new tote for Summer.  Barrington gifts was sweet enough to let me design my own tote and I could not be happier with the results.  Their new monogram collection is so fun.  This makes a great diaper bag too as it can easily be wiped down.
The Barrington Site is so fun to play around on, so many fabric and monogram choices.

I am hosting a girls supper club for Cinco De Mayo next week.  I am pumped for a fun Mexican themed dinner.  I picked up this embroidered runner this week at World Market and think it will be perfect. Don't forget World Market just started their Friends and Family event you can save 25% on all orders.  Use code FFSAVE.
I am thinking about wearing my tie dye dress for the fiesta and good news it was just marked down to 40% off.  I am wearing a size small.

When did Zac Efron get even more ripped??  Just a little Friday eye candy.

Good advice.

Cut It Out.

I wanted to share a new dress I picked up for Summer and guess what?  It was just reduced and is now 40% off!  ALC is one of my all time favorite brands.  Their pieces are so wearable and versatile.
This dress is great causal like I am wearing it or you can easily dress it up with heels for a night out.
I like the slight cut-out detail, it doesn't show too much skin.

I am a huge fan of white and black, always so classic.
My bracelets are handmade here in Charleston by Christina Jervey, she is super talented.

This Claire V Clutch is a favorite of mine.  The leather is so soft and I love the fold-over style.
This rose gold fold-over clutch in the same style was just reduced.

Awkward stance but I wanted you to see the slight split in the front of the dress.  It is fully lined to above the knee so not see through all.

Tassel Love.  I am pretty sure I will never tire of tassels.  These shoes also come in gold, yellow and red. Plus they aren't crazy expensive.  And trust me they are comfortable!

These TB hoops are great for everyday.  I have the rose gold and wear them often.
Also wanted to mention my lip color, it is the Smashbox Electric Pink I mentioned a few weeks ago. This gives you an idea of what it looks like on.

The back view,  and great part is you can still wear a regular bra with this dress.  The dress runs TTS,  I am in a size small.

You can shop my whole look below.

Asian Chopped Salad with Roasted Shrimp

I love a chopped salad.  I frequently dream about new combinations for chopped salads.  Something about everything being chopped so finely so that you get a bite of each ingredient makes chopped salads a winner.  This salad is a hodge podge of recipes I found online trying to recreate my favorite salad at Leon's Oyster Shop, the Siam Salad.  If you ever eat at Leon's try the Siam Salad it is incredible.

This salad is a bit different but has several of the same components like crunchy cabbage and lots of fresh herbs.  It is not heavy at all and the perfect light Summer Salad.  This is a great make ahead meal.  The chopped salad gets better the longer it sits.  I actually made the salad and roasted the shrimp earlier in the day since we had soccer practice.  It was easy to come home and it all was ready. We enjoyed it slightly chilled but you could reheat your shrimp if you prefer.

I usually saute our shrimp but for this recipe I roasted them and they turned out great.  You could also serve this with shredded chicken if you prefer.  I added in the Ramen for a bit of crunch but the Ramen does get soggy (still good) the longer the salad sits, so you could omit the Ramen if you want.  The flavors in this are so fresh and vibrant and both kids loved it which is always an added bonus.
Enjoy!
