Friday's Thoughts

So we had our AC fixed this week and boy and I am glad it was fixed.  The insulation was rotted plus there was some mold from the water damage.  Next week we will repair the ceiling hole and hopefully knock down the kitchen cabinet.
Pretty yuck right?

I stopped in Thera M this week to check out their Fall stuff and they have some gorgeous clothes right now!!
The jacket is a steal under $80 and so comfortable.  It is a sweater coat and I see myself tossing it on over everything this Fall!  It runs on the large side, I am wearing an XS.
I also loved the white blouse, such a classic white blouse with a modern fit.

Been loving this Chardonnay- for all you Banshee wine fans it is made by the same people.  It is a light Chardonnay and not oaky or too buttery which is why I love it.  The Waccamaw Red was also really good.

Took Frances Moon for her 9 month check up a few weeks late.  My girl is still pretty much 90th percentile in all the catergories, head, weight, and height!

My mom's friends gave her this coffee table book for her birthday and I loved it so much I got one for myself.  It is filled with the most beautiful angel paintings.   It also has bible verses and stories about angels.  I just love it.  Would make a beautiful gift for someone.

Can we discuss how sweet Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are!!  They seem to have such a good marriage and stay out of the public eye.  This was them at a concert this week.

I stopped by the RMS Beauty office this week and was blown away by this organic line.  I took home lots of products to sample and I can't wait to share all my favorites with you guys soon!

Pretty sure this sandwich combo will be in my near future : Bacon + Brie + Avocado. Genius.

Speaking of bacon how delish does this Spicy Candied Bacon look?  It sounds so easy too:

Spicy Beer Candied Bacon: 400 degrees 1 lb extra thick smoked bacon cup brown sugar 2 tablespoons any dark beer 2 tablespoons Franks Hot Sauce

My Tory Burch Dress arrived this week and lets just say I love it.  I tried on the navy version but decided to order the red because I don't have too much red in my closet.  I had a gift card left from my birthday back in March that I was pleasantly surprised to find in my old purse and put towards this beauty.  It is sold out on the Tory Burch site but a few sizes are left on Shopbop.  The red pattern is just so gorgeous.

Happy Friday Loves.

Obsessions

I am loving this classic black turtle neck dress.  I love the draping.

This is such a great sweater coat.  I love the classic black and white checker pattern.   I am kind of plaid obsessed for Fall.   It is a great price under $100!

This dress is amazing!!  I love the 70's vibe.

I love a good cozy yet still cute PJ set once the colder air sets in.  I think this one looks so soft and I love the skinnier leg pants.

I don't know why but I am loving the TB Horse print this year.  I love the blouse version but the tee is a better price!  Would be great with a cute cardigan once it gets cooler.

I just want to throw this sweater on over everything!!  It is a great shade of gray and looks insanely comfy.  Use code SHOPFORFALL to get 25% off this sweater and other new fall arrivals.

This bangle is also part of the JCrew sale.  It is steal with the additional 30% off.  I think it would look so awesome layered with other bracelets and also alone!

I featured the plum version of these flats yesterday and just saw they also come in black.  I love that these are half suede half leather.  The black would go with everything and trust me they are comfortable.  I wore the plum ones all day with no pain!  These are such a great price under $100, great for work or play!

I am so ordering these leggings.  I love the color combo.  Zella leggings are my favorite!

I also love this tank and the fact that you can wear it two ways.

Lastly for the babies a few favorites from JCrew baby that are additional 25% off!

NDM Styles : One Dress Two Ways

I just realized it has been awhile since I did an outfit post.  In all honestly I have not bought much new lately.  I find it hard to shop in this in between weather.  It is still hot as crap here in Charleston and I am over buying Summer Clothes,  I am so ready for crisp cool air and fall clothes.  I was inspired after I saw this dress on Liz.  I loved the colors and style and knew I wanted it to wear now and into Fall.  What I love most about this dress is how versatile it is.  Liz paired hers with knee high boots and it looked awesome, I paired mine with booties and flats and loved those looks as well!  You could also toss on a blazer or leather jacket as well for a more streamlined look.

I first paired it with some plum D'Orsay flats.  If you need new flats I love these Vince Camuto ones.  They look so similar to the Vince ones I wanted but they are a 1/3 the price (under $100)!  The color is the perfect shade of eggplant for Fall!

I am wearing a small in the dress for those curious.   It is super soft too.  I think it will look great with tights once it cools down!

This picture makes me laugh.    Sterling had been  peering out the window trying to get in the pictures!

I don't want to forget my necklace.  English Norman custom created this for me with the kids names engraved and I absolutely love it!  My mom loved it so much she is ordering the same one with all the grandkids names hanging down.  It is such a special necklace.

Shop her site here and you can email her about custom orders!

I am really loving the Soft Joie line.  It is the less expensive Joie line,  it is all is so comfortable and under $200.
I love the blouse version like the dress mainly because I love the pattern!

A few other Soft Joie Favorites!

Target Gold Lamp

I was so excited to snag this gold lamp for Sterling's room.  I had looked at several more expensive versions til my friend Mandy posted this Target one.  Y'all this lamp is solid,  even better in person and only $54!!  I can't say enough good things about it.  Some of you commented on Instagram you could not find it in your stores, it is still currently online but I am sure it will go fast!

White Chicken Enchilada Casserole

A few weeks ago my friend Sarah hosted Supper Club and served this casserole.  I loved it so much I knew I had to make it immediately. She said she found the recipe on pinterest- what did we do before pinterest?  I quickly looked it up and saw it was from Gimmie Some Oven- a great cooking site, they always have really good recipes.  The cream sauce in this casserole is so good and I love the addition of white beans.  You can make this casserole the day before if you need it.  It was awesome the first night we cooked it but the second night it was a bit soggier so keep that in mind, still good just a touch soggy.  I added jalapenos to the cream sauce to add a bite. I always use a rotisserie chicken to save time. Serve with sour cream and hot sauce and dig in!  This is really awesome Mexican Casserole!

|| W H I T E   C H I C K E N   E N C H I L A D A   C A S S E R O L E ||

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chiles
  • 1 (4 ounce) can chopped jalapenos ( I added this )
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 24 soft flour tortillas, halved
  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 2 (14-ounce) cans White Northern beans, rinsed and drained
  • 3 cups shredded Pepper Jack cheese
  • 1 avocado, peeled, pitted and diced
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro leaves

Method

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with cooking spray, and set aside.
Heat oil in a large saute pan over medium-high heat. Add flour, and whisk to combine. Cook for 1 minute until lightly browned, stirring frequently. Add half of the chicken stock, and whisk until combined. Then add the remaining chicken stock, green chiles, and cumin, and whisk until combined.
Let the mixture continue heating until it reaches a simmer and thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes. Stir in Greek yogurt (or sour cream) and whisk until combined. Remove from heat and set aside.

To assemble the enchiladas, place 8 tortilla halves in the prepared baking pan so that they cover the bottom of the pan. Spread about 1/3 of the cream sauce evenly on top of the tortillas. Sprinkle half of the chicken on evenly on top of the sauce, followed by half of the beans, and 1 cup shredded cheese. Repeat with a second layer of tortillas, cream sauce, chicken, beans and cheese. Then add a final layer of just tortillas, cream sauce and cheese.

Cover the casserole with aluminum foil. Bake for 20 minutes. Then remove the aluminum foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, uncovered, until the cheese is melted and begins to brown around the edges and the casserole is cooked through.
Remove pan, and sprinkle with avocado and fresh cilantro. Serve warm.

.................................................................
and I have to mention the cute dishtowel underneath my casserole.  I bought two of them at Open Door Shop and just adore them!
They come in a gray and eggplant color as well.  They also make cute bathroom towels!

Scenes From Our Weekend

This weekend the kids and I decided to head to Charlotte for a quick trip for my mom's birthday. I hate that we don't live in the same town so we rarely get to celebrate birthdays together. It was a quick trip but a good one!

My mom surprised Sterling when we got in town with a Olaf costume.  He was a little jealous Frances got her costume before him so he was ecstatic to get his own costume.  My mom found the costume at Party City for all you Frozen Fans like us.

We took the kids to the mall which they always love.  Thank you to Nordstrom for the free balloons.  They kept Sterling happy for awhile.

I finally got to meet my newest nephew Maxton and I am so in love.  He is the most scrumptious baby ever.  Dare I say it made me miss having a newborn around.  The noises and facial expressions they make are so darn cute.

Wore this tee shirt all weekend.  I swear by the Rag and Bone Jackson Tees and love the faded look of this one.  I like that they are longer and not too fitted.  I am in small for those curious.

We celebrated my mom's birthday.  I made a homemade peanut butter cake (thank you pinterest).  My mom loves peanut butter desserts and this cake was fairly easy to whip together.  You can find the recipe HERE.  It was good but I felt like the cake cooked too long and was a bit dry the icing however was awesome!!
Wearing my favorite Pheobe Sandals

We enjoyed a fun Mexican dinner out because lets be real with crying kids Mexican is always a good idea!  They can be loud and no one notices:)  Frances Moon was showing us how she claps and Sterling is always loving on Finley.

Sunday I went to Loft to try on the nude blouse in person and loved it!!  Get it while you can such a great neutral color and fit.  You can't beat the price!

Love seeing my dad with all the grand kids. Melts my heart and the kids all love their Big Poppie so much!

My sister and I hit up the Winestore for some wine for our Sunday dinner.  It is my favorite wine shop in Charlotte.  I love their tasting machines.  It is great to sample the wine before you buy it and they have such a great selection!!

This was one of our favorite wines we tasted. We bought 4 bottles of it! I highly recommend.

Happy Monday!
