Life Lately

Did ya'll miss me yesterday??  We had some internet issues which is always annoying.  Happy to report we now have a new router and modem so hopefully no more problems.
The past week has been super busy round here.  We traveled to Charlotte, and now my parents are in town this week helping out while we get ready for Sterling's 5th Birthday Party this weekend.   How do I have a son who is about to turn 5 and start Kindergarten?? I am in denial.

Had so much fun in Charlotte.  Came across this quote from Micheal J Fox and felt it was so fitting
" Family is not the most important thing, its everything."
Dad was out of town on a work trip and Sterling wouldn't get in the picture go figure.

I thought this picture of the cousins in their matching bear shirts was adorable.

Bought this top while I was home and it is slowly becoming a favorite.
On sale in the navy version for 40% .

I started reading Jane Green's new novel.  I always love her books and after Still Alice I wanted something a little lighter.  It has already sucked me in.  I love her books because I immediately always relate to the characters.  If you have not read her novel Tempting Fate I highly recommend it.

Picked up some sconces to to hang on each side of our TV in the den.  Pretty excited about them.  I will show pics after we hang them this weekend.

So proud of this Orchid Arrangement I potted myself for our dining room table.
All for under $35 !

Our TJMaxx is amazing.  This week they had the Valentino RockStud Shoes in.   I of course had to try them on.

Always love when my parents are in town because I can take advantage of the killer view off their back porch. It almost looks fake it is so gorgeous out there.

New cookbook for my collection.  Could not resist the hot pink cover and its my favorite food genre:)

I can't stop thinking about this white boho lace shift dress.  It is only $72!  It is from a new line called English Factory that is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.

Not only is it Valentines this week but is is also Heart Awareness week.  We wore red to support all those with heart problems.

These Alexis Bittar Bracelets are a steal, they were $245 now $97 for a set of three.  His bracelets are my favorite!  They also come in a black set.

A few of my other favorites

Happy Weekend.

Heart Shaped Raspberry Cream Cheese Tarts aka Homemade Pop-Tarts

I tore this recipe out of an old People magazine over a year ago and I am just now making it.  These little tarts are not only cute but oh so delicious.   They are basically like homemade pop-tarts.  I have seen other recipes where the filling is just jelly but this is filled with fresh raspberries, cream cheese, and honey.  The combo is fresh and not overly sweet.  Since they use pre-made pie dough, the hardest thing is cutting out the shapes.  You could do any shape you wanted but I did hearts for Valentines Day.  Beware not to put too much filling in them they over flow easily.
I honestly did a bit too much and it seeped out while baking.   We ate the spilled out filling with a spoon and it made Sterling's day.

They are actually delish without icing but with icing takes them to whole another level.  So I recommend slapping some icing on them:)
Enjoy!

- 1 package refrigerated pie dough
- 1 8oz cream cheese
- 1 pint raspberries
- 2 tablespoons honey

I C I N G
- 10 raspberries
- 1 teaspoon milk
- 1.5 cups powdered sugar

Roll out both pie shells on a flat surface.  Use heart cookie cutters to cut hearts- should be able to get about 20 hearts, which means 10 pop tarts.
In a bowl whip the cream cheese with beaters until fluffy.  Mash the pint of raspberries with a fork and then add into the cream cheese.  Add in honey and mix together.

Place half the hearts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.  scoop a small spoonful of the raspberry mixture in the middle.  Place the remaining hearts on top and mash together around the edges with a fork.  Then take a toothpick and poke several holes in the middle.  Bake at 400 degrees about 20 minutes until they start to slightly brown.

Meanwhile using a strainer over a bowl mash about 10 raspberries collecting the juice.  Add in powdered sugar and enough milk to loosen but not make it too liquidey.

Let pies cool before icing.

If you don't have heart cookie cutters, I rounded up a few options along with some other adorable Valentine's Day serving ware.

Obsessions

How awesome and adorable is this Valentines Day gift box?  Send the link to your significant other as a hint or this is great gift for a mom or sister or treat yourself!  You can choose between three different agate druzy stone necklace colors: ballet pink, midnight, or sea foam.
I chose pink:)
It is packaged so cute with candy and the necklace. Today is the last day to order before Valentines Day !

I actually spied this in Neiman Marcus over the weekend and fell in love with it.  The colors and pattern are gorgeous.

Loving the thin strap and tan color of the band.  It would go with everything. Also comes in all white which I really dig for Summer.

The mint color of this blouse is pure perfection!!
I just got these earrings and could not be more excited to wear them!  They also come in a beautiful green color.  I imagine these on heavy rotation this Summer!

Love the boho feel of this blouse and the gorgeous embroidery.

I have heard rave reviews about this Black Tea Mask and Cream.    It is supposed to be great for anti-aging and skin tightening.  It retails for $165 but Nordstom is running a sale and you get all three products for $110 plus an additional sample.  I ordered the set to try and will report back!

These calf hair pumps are gorgeous and such a great price!
This is such a classic yet fun one piece.  Love the ruffle detail.  This is suit you would own for years!

This pj set looks comfy and is cute to wear around in front of others. A great set for a new mom.

I own this in the pink version and wear it often.  Such a great everyday dress!  The green is such a fun bright color for Spring.

I so want this adorable tassel top for Frances Moon!

Lastly today at 11am today Furbish is doing a pop up show with artist Helen  Dealtry.
There are 25 orginal water colors.  I just adore these.  They would be so sweet in a nursery or little girls room or even a bath room too.

Brown Box Club || Finicky Filly

I am so excited to share the Brown Box Club with you ladies today!  Finicky Filly is one of my favorite local boutiques.  They carry all my favorite designers like Joie, Mara Hoffman, Tory Burch, JBrand, the list goes on and on.
They just recently launched the Brown Box Club.
Which is perfect timing because the store is shut down until after February 14th for renovations.  This way you can still shop!

What you might ask is the Brown Box Club??  Well in a nutshell it is shopping made easy.  It is basically like having a personal shopper for free.  You go online and fill out a questionnaire about your style and sizes and what you like fashion wise.  I specified since I am a mom I am in jeans most of the time, so I prefer casual outfits like jeans and cute blouses.  If you wear more dresses or need professional clothes just specify that and they will tailor the box to you.
You do not have to live in Charleston for this service, they ship anywhere,

The girls at Finicky Filly then fill a box with goodies selected just for you and mail it to you.  Now this is all FREE.  You are not obligated to buy anything and the box even comes with a prepaid UPS label to send it back.   You have 10 days to try everything on and decide.   You are not charged unless you choose to keep something.
The girls at Finicky Filly selecting my outfits:)

I was so excited to open my box and dig through.  Frances Moon was excited too because she spied a purse.  Girl loves a purse.

The box was filled with so much great stuff and it was all wrapped separately by outfits with the cutest little notes.

This is all that was inside my box.  I was totally blown away and really loved  everything.  Such a wide assortment from jeans, to blouses, to jewelry and purses.

I of course had to try everything on.  That is the beauty of the Brown Box Club, you can try everything on at home and mix and match with what you already have to see what you want to keep.
Selfie overload:)

I truly loved everything.  I had a hard time narrowing down what I wanted to keep.  I ended up keeping the floral Joie Blouse c/o, the White Tote c/o (perfect to stash all my daily stuff in), the Stripe tee, and twine and twig beaded green necklace ( I am wearing in the photo opening the box).
I have already worn the Joie blouse a million times.
The Annabel Ingall Tote is a dream come true.  It is the perfect everyday tote to fill with all my stuff and the kids.

I can't say enough great things about the Brown Box and after the success of my first box, I have now signed up to receive a box every 6 weeks.  My mom and sister loved the idea of no hassle shopping too and are signing up.  The best part is this costs no money ladies, it is like having a free personal shopper!! It is great for those of you who don't live in Charleston and can't stop in Finicky Filly.  You can also shop Finicky Filly using the House Account App.

You can get started by filling out the questionnaire HERE and soon enough you can have your own personal shopping experience and get your first Brown Box Delivery!

Thanks to Finicky Filly for asking me test out the Brown Box.  I was not paid for this post but gifted merchandise.
This however is a service I will continue to use personally I loved it so much.
