Fall Style Round-up

There are a few standout styles I am gaga over this fall.

ONE: FUR VESTS
Rachel Zoe is forever sporting Fur Vests. Now I am not sure I can pull off a vest as big and puffy as hers but I love Olivia's black vest. I think a black fur vest looks so chic with an all black outfit and cute shoes!

This casual look may just be my favorite because I know I will be sporting it all fall. It is comfortable and looks stylish! The perfect Mommy go-to outfit!

These are my favorite flat boots. I have them in the cognac color pictured and light tan and wear them both all the time. They work perfect over leggings and jeans! If you need boots for fall I highly suggest these!

Feta Artichoke Dip

It is no secret I am a huge fan dips, as you might notice I post alot of dip recipes. Appetizers are my favorite genre of food by far! This recipe is a family favorite we have been making for years. It is easy to throw to together and always a crowd pleaser! We serve ours with pita chips or crackers. Enjoy!

**BTW You might have noticed a few new tabs at the top of my blog. I am working on getting my recipes all in one place for you guys. All you will have to do is click on that tab for a complete recipe list, should make finding past recipes much easier. It is taking awhile because I have to go back and find every recipe but I hope to have it finished over the weekend!**

HOT FETA ARTICHOKE DIP
1 14 OZ can artichoke hearts drained and chopped
2 packages 4oz feta cheese
1 cup mayo
1/2 shredded Parmesan cheese
1 jar (2 oz) diced pimentos drained
1 clove garlic minced

Mix all ingredients together. Spread in baking dish and sprinkle with a little extra Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 degrees about 25 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.

I mentioned this wine awhile back over the holidays last year but we just picked up another bottle this week and it is a fabulous Cab. It is on sale right now at Harris Teeter for $19.99. It is so smooth with a great light finish.

SPOON FORK BACON
If you aren't familiar with this fabulous food blog you need to be. Amazing recipes and gorgeous pictures! Here are a few recents that have my stomach growling: Potato Rings with Homemade Buttermilk Ranch, Salted Carmel and Bacon Ice Cream Sandwiches, Fig and Caramelized Onion Tart. Truly amazing recipes here a must read!

HUNGER GAMES BOOKS
At first I was super skeptical about this teen series, but I just finished the first book and I am hooked! I can't wait to start the second book Catching Fire. I don't even know how to even describe this series but I promise these books rock!

Feeling Pink

Lately I have been really smitten with pink interiors. I see no way the hubby would ever let me put too much pink in our house but I would love to add some accents. I think pink can almost be a neutral if you pick the right shade. I love it paired with gray or black.

How amaze is this Christmas Tree. The perfect hint of pink for the holidays.

Since I probably won't be adding too much pink into our home decor, I am seriously considering buying one of these pink DVF numbers to fulfill my pink lust!

I'm Off!

I am headed to the gorgeous NC mountains this weekend for a dear friend's wedding. I can't wait to hang out with all my favorite ladies and enjoy the gorgeous scenery and cooler temperatures! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Catch you back here Monday!

House Wants

We are no where near ready to move or renovate our house but I definitely day dream all the time about things that I want when either happens. Here is my growing list of things I deem essential for our next house!

SUBWAY TILE
I love,love, love subway tile. It is such a clean and modern look. Would love this in my kitchen or bathroom one day.

A KICK ASS LAUNDRY ROOM
Our washer and dryer our in our garage and I hate having to go out there to do laundry. My dream is to have a fabulous huge laundry room one day.

WALLPAPER
I am dying to wallpaper something in my house. My top choices are the bathroom or entryway.

WALK-IN CLOSET/DRESSING ROOM
This is a must have in my book. I need somewhere pretty to house all my clothes, shoes, and purses!

Zucchini Ribbon Salad

So I have finally tired of my Greek salads. That's right after pulling a Jennifer Aniston and eating the same thing for lunch everyday for months I finally got a little sick of it. I came across this recipe on pinterest, which led me to a new favorite blog, Proud Italian Cook. All of her food is right up my alley made with fresh produce and pasta, and her pictures are gorgeous. You will want to cook/eat everything on her blog!

This salad is truly delicious. I even made it yesterday with squash instead of zucchini and it was still fabulous. I also added corn into mine because we had some extra we had grilled over the weekend and I thought it was the perfect addition. This salad will be your new go-to salad and not to mention it would be gorgeous to serve at a dinner party.

ZUCCHINI RIBBON SALAD (My Version)
-Zucchini
-Arugula
-Toasted Pine Nuts
-Grilled Corn
-Feta Cheese

DRESSING
-Red Wine Vinegar
-Olive Oil
-Dijon Mustard
-Salt and Pepper to taste

I have no exact measurements so just use as much or as little as you prefer. I used about 1 zucchini per salad and grilled it in two batches.





Here are the instructions in the words of the Proud Italian Cook
You'll want to make sure you cook your strips of zucchini either in a stove top grill or saute pan coated with a tiny bit of olive oil, they only take a couple of minutes. Make sure they cool completely before adding them to your salad.

I used arugula for my salad base and tossed it in a vinaigrette of 3 parts olive oil to 1 part red wine vinegar, added a touch of Dijon, a crushed garlic clove, salt, black pepper and oregano, any lemon based dressing would be work as well.
Lay your zucchini strips on top, toss in some feta or shaved Parmesan and sprinkle with toasted nuts, I used hazelnuts here with the feta, but pine nuts or slivered almonds would be just as good. To finish, drizzle a little more dressing over the top. Just let your creative juices flow and make it your own!
