Rompers + Popsicles

Lets chat about rompers.  Ever since seeing Gwyneth in this romper on Goop I have wanted a romper.

Then I saw her in this DVF romper which made me really want it.  Sadly,  this little DVF number is out of my price range and from 2011.  So unless it shows up on Ebay for cheap this one ain't happening.

I was in Forever 21 the other day doing a quick walk thru and I spotted a romper for cheap, $14 to be exact.  I tried it on and actually quite liked it.  I have never owned a romper or thought myself to be cool enough to sport a romper.   I am not going to wear this out clubbing (not that I ever go clubbing anymore) but I thought it was cute for running errands and for the pool/ beach.  Rompers are kind of weird and going to the bathroom may be pain, but I think it is a fun casual look.   For $14 I figured if it was only used a beach cover up, no big deal.  But it keeps haunting me that maybe Rompers are stupid and I am too old to sport this look. Here is the question is 30+ too old to wear a romper?  Be honest.

I have seen Kourtney Kardashian and Jessica Alba sporting cute rompers and they both are moms and over 30, which leads me to believe maybe I can rock this look without looking like I am trying to be 21.

Thoughts?  Is a romper best left for a 20 something?  Or can a mom rock it for casual wear?
I could not find my romper online at F21 but I did find this super cute one:

Now on to my next random thought, Popsicles.  I never bought the Zoku, the pop maker from Williams-Sonoma, I just wasn't sure I wanted to spend the money ( I can be cheap about some things).  Well my mom found me one at Homegoods for $6.99!  It works perfectly.  I made extra juice from my juicer this week,  froze it and shocker, Sterling ate the whole Popsicle.  Yep, he ate spinach and kale.  I was a happy mom since he normally never touches the green stuff.
I made two different pops:
1) kale, spinach, apple, lime and cucumber
2) orange and carrot

The next day he requested two pops "orange and green"
Popsicle maker = genius way to get your kids to eat veggies.
And for the grown-ups, I see these Margarita and Strawberry Peach Vodka Pops being made in the near future.  Who said Popsicles are just for kids?

Sadie + Stella Show Some Love

Hi pretties!  Hope your day is off to a fabulous start!  Today I am guest posting at one my newest favorite blogs, Sadie + Stella.

If you have not read Lindsay's blog you need for realz.  Girl is hilarious, always making me laugh.   When I read her posts I always feel like I am talking to a friend and cracking up.  She has impeccable style and taste in home decor and she loves some good food and cocktails- a girl after my own heart.  And did I mention she has two of the cutest pups around?

Check out this old chair she recently recovered.  Freaking amazeballs, right??  Head on over to her blog for lots more eye candy!
Today I am sharing my favorite room in our house and by favorite room, I mean the cleanest because it rarely gets used.  Add a kid to the equation and every room in our house is covered in toys,  finger prints and food crumbs.  This room was pretty much the only one that was picture ready:)  Here is peek, head here to see the rest!

Grilled Shrimp With Cilantro, Lime and Peanuts

You might remember the picture of my Thai Noodle bowl from Monday.  Well this is the Shrimp recipe we used to go on top of our noodles.   We will be making this shrimp many more times.  It was honestly the perfect combination of flavors and so easy to make.  We sauteed our shrimp instead of grilling them- we prefer them that way, but I am sure they are delish grilled.    I am hungry just thinking about this dish.

This shrimp would be tasty on a salad as well, but if you want to recreate our dish we used Rice Stick Noodles (found in the asian foods section of the grocery) and Bok Choy.  Little secret I have never cooked Bok Choy before but now I love it.

I googled a few recipes but ultimately made up my own.

SAUTEED BOK CHOY
4 bundles of Bok Choy, washed and sliced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 garlic clove minced
1 teaspoon fresh minced ginger
1 tablespoon fish sauce
1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
Sautee Bok Choy in olive oil until cooked slightly.  Add in the rest of the ingredients and cook a few minutes until fragrantly.

The combination was great.  I layered the Bok Choy on the cooked Rice Stick Noodles, then added the Shrimp and drizzled the whole thing with Sriracha.  Such an amazing meal!

Grilled Shrimp With Cilantro, Lime, and Peanuts
Ingredients
2 limes
2 teaspoons fish sauce
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 pound (about 15) jumbo shrimp, shells on
2 teaspoons safflower oil
Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper
1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped fresh cilantro
1/2 cup salted peanuts, coarsely chopped
2 scallions, finely chopped

Directions
1.Zest limes into a bowl. Squeeze in juice from 1 lime, and whisk in fish sauce and sugar.
2.Preheat grill to high. Brush shrimp with oil on both sides, and lightly season with salt and pepper. Grill until pink and firm to the touch, 2 to 3 minutes per side.
3.Toss shrimp with fish-sauce mixture, cilantro, peanuts, and scallions. Juice remaining lime over shrimp

Obsessions

I am obsessed with this dress!  Love the colors and the back is gorgeous.  Need her for a summer wedding but must be on sale:)

Julia's new artwork on Pawleys Island Posh.   It is simply gorgeous.  My friend is super talented and I am so glad she is selling her beautiful art.  I need a piece asap!

I love these simple bracelets.  I see myself wearing them everyday!  They are a great price for a timeless piece.

I ordered this blouse last week from Piperlime- it is on sale right now and then on Tuesdays you get an additional 10 percent off.  I really love a neutral blouse because they go with everything!  I have been on the hunt for things to wear with my colored jeans.  Thinking this might even look sick with my white jeans too. Really love the pocket details and V-neck of this blouse.
ESSIE PEACH DAIQUIRI
This is my new favorite nail color. Big props to my mom for picking this color out for me.  It is the perfect summer pink with a hint of coral!
This is more like Sterling's obsession but I wanted to share it for you Moms.  We read this book pretty much every night.  It is filled with so many stories.  I remember reading it when I was a kid.  Big thanks to our friends Alissa and Alec for giving Sterling this book.  Last night he even took it to bed with him!  It would make a great gift or addition to any child's library.

My Outfit: The Deets

Several of you had questions about my outfit in the picture from this weekend at the yacht club.  I normally respond to question via email but neither of you girls had an email address attached for me to respond.  So here are the deets:

Shirt is Vintage Cotton V-Neck Tee from JCrew.  I own like 5 of these they are the best tee shirts ever.  I highly recommend!  A few colors are on sale online right now.  I bought mine in the store for even cheaper.  They wash and wear really well.  I also love the Vintage Crewneck version as well.

The shorts are JBrand Rolled Cuff Shorts.  I bought them two years ago right after I had Sterling.  They were my first pair of shorts probably since Junior High and I love them.  I wear them all the time.  They fit well are not too tight or too short.  I found them online HERE.
The shoes are Tory Burch Emmy Flats.  Another favorite.  I have had them for 3 years now and they are still a favorite.  I wear these all the time!!
Hope that helps!

Scenes From Our Weekend

Is it Monday already??  This weekend really flew by!
My House of Harlow Leather Station Necklace arrived and me likey. She is perfection.  I debated between the black and tan but ultimately chose the tan and I am glad I did.  I feel like it will go with everything.

I hit up the Farmers Market Saturday and got all sorts of great veggies.  I love the Farmers Market in a major way.  My main problem is narrowing down what I really want to buy.  I have to only bring a set amount of cash otherwise I would go crazy!
I came home and made and Avocado BLT with fresh tomatoes and spinach from the market!
I potted some flowers with my brown thumb. I am really trying to learn more about gardening and keep some plants alive longer than 1 month.  I also started working on my porch renovation.  One rocking chair is now high gloss white (it was black before).  Took a few more cans of spray paint than I thought, but I love the look.  Glossy white looks good on everything.

I saw these cushions at TJMaxx that I am considering for the rocking chairs.  I really wanted the Trina Turk cushions but at $300 a piece that is so not happening.   I want a pattern but I am thinking I want different colors than yellow and green.

I ordered the Tibi Ikat Shorts but I just can't decide about them.  They are pretty pricey for shorts and I felt like I did not have that many shirts that looked cute with them.  A white tank tucked in looked best.   Plus I am not sure they are super flattering.  Most likely returning them.

Had a blast with my little man at the Yacht Club. He is quite obsessed with swings and slides these days.

Last night we cooked this Thai Shrimp Noodle Rice Bowl Recipe recommended by WayWay.  It was off the hook.  Seriously freaking amazing.  We will be making it many more times.

Hope your week is off to a good start!

Do You Fancy a Margarita?

Happy Cinco De Mayo Loves!  This is honestly one of my favorite holidays because I am a true lover of any and all Mexican food (could eat it everyday) and I am a serious tequila lover.  I swear give me some good tequila and I am a happy lady.   I was reading my new Bon Appetit last weekend and I came across an article tittled "How to Mix the Ultimate Margarita".  Umm, yeah I devoured the article and  then I promptly made both Ritas, nevermind it was only 3:00 in the afternoon but it had me wanting one.   Now they are household favorites.  I know you will all love the Blackberry Rita but don't snub the Jalapeno one.  I know it sounds weird but trust me it is really good in a crazy way.  If you like a little spice and heat you will love this drink!  Try them both and let me know what you think!

JALAPENO MARGARITA
