Scenes From Our Weekend

We honestly didn't do too much this weekend.  The weather was cold and rainy both Saturday and Sunday so we spent a lot of time indoors.

Friday night we had one of our neighbors over for happy hour.   I had forgotten how good Brad and Angelina's wine Miraval was.  It is a little pricier than what I normally like to spend on a bottle but so good!

Friday morning I hit up TJmaxx and was thrilled when I found this Alexis Bittar ring on clearance for $20! I love when I find a good deal like that.

I also scored these baskets.  I had been looking for some large ones to store toys in.

Saturday I took the kids to get doughnuts before my gym class.  Calories don't count on the weekend, right?  The kids were so excited about the Panther's doughnuts.
I had to laugh because both Sterling and Frances wanted to wear workout clothes like mommy to the gym.  This is what they came up with.

Frances is bathing suit obsessed lately and wants to wear them on everyday.
This horse one is from the Gap, use code GAMEON for 40% off.

Saturday night Matt and I binge watched MadMen and cooked veggie hot dogs.  Several of you asked what brand veggie dogs we like.  We have tried two brands Smartdogs and Tofurkey Dogs and we much prefer the Smartdogs.  With veggie dogs you can't grill them they fall apart, so you have to boil them. We actually really liked the Smartdogs and if you put enough toppings on you really don't miss the meat.

Since Sunday was such a gross rainy day, I took the kids to see Kung Fu Panda 3.  I didn't realize it was the 3D version til we got there.  Which was fine for Sterling but not Frances, she did not want to keep the glasses on.  Sterling is great at movies but Frances was a whole other story.  She was good and still for about 30 minutes and then she was all over the place.  Climbing stairs and chairs = not relaxing for Mom.  The movie however was really cute, I highly recommend it.

That night we went to a Super Bowl Party at our good friend's house.  I made the Kettle Chip Crusted Poppers I mentioned last week.  They were really good.  I made a few changes to the recipe and left out cilantro , sometimes it is too powerful a taste for me and I used green onions instead of white.
Only picture we snapped. Matt is more excited than he looks and Frances clearly did not want us leaving.
Lastly Loft is offering 30% off all dresses, no code needed.   I love this stripe one I bought a few weeks ago.  The material is thicker which I like and not clingy at all.  I just ordered this one, love the colors.
Twine and Twig is also offering 25% off site wide with code BEMINE!

Have a fabulous Monday!

Weekend Style | 4 Looks for Less

Happy Saturday! Today I have four looks for less to share!

look for less

ONE| Marysia Swim One Piece
I am a huge fan of Maryisa Swim and I am lucky enough to own a few of her bathing suits but they are VERY expensive.  I found these 2 Target versions that are almost identical to 2 of her styles and they are only $44.

Target Plunging V Neck $44

TWO | Fringe Tee

I actually just bought this in the gray version and love it.  The material is super soft and I like the boxy fit.  I am wearing an XS.  The ivory version is actually on sale for $18.

THREE | Off Shoulder Blouse with Tie Sleeves
I have admired this Tibi Blouse for awhile, so when I saw the Free People version for $78 I was so excited.

also comes in a chambray version

FOUR | OFF SHOULDER WHITE DRESS
I really love both of these but the BB Dakota version is a much better price point.

Happy Saturday and Happy Shopping!

Style Files Vol 2 | Poppy Blossoms + Panthers Pride

TGIF!  Today I wanted to share an outfit that would be perfect for Valentine's Date Night.
I bought this blouse a few weeks ago and it has been on constant rotation.  The floral print just makes me happy and I love the flirty feminine style.
The McGuire Jeans are amazing.  I had heard rave reviews about them and after I tried on a pair I was hooked.  They sit higher up on your waist and are such a slim sleek fit.  Very flattering!

The back is just as cute as the front.
Sizing wise I would say this blouse is TTS.  I am wearing a small and I like the length and fit in the arms.  There are only a few sizes left in the blouse but Shopbop is usually good about restocking sizes.

I am a huge fan of Bucket Tote Bags.  This particular style is on sale right now in several color options.
I am slightly obsessed with this Julie Vos cocktail ring.  I wear it almost everyday.
I am also realizing I have total man hands looking at this picture:)
The poppy blossom print which I love so much comes in several other different styles.
It also comes in this sleeveless version that I really like.  You could wear it now with a cardigan and then in Summer solo.
or in a dress version.  This may be my favorite.

So many fabulous options.

For all you Panther's Fans how awesome are these tee shirts?  I just ordered the Cam one and my sister ordered the Luke one.  Hoping it arrives in time for the Super Bowl!
Any friends who live in Charlotte Shop Pink Social will be having a Pop Up Shop today with Melvin Jewelry and you can pick up one of these tees in time for the Super Bowl!
Pop up Shop is at 220 East Blvd suite 200b

Thoughts For Thursday

Happy Thursday.  I am getting excited for the upcoming weekend for two reasons.  1) We have no real plans which always excites me 2) Super Bowl Sunday.  I am so proud of the Panthers and can't wait to watch them play while I dominate some yummy food.   If I can get my act together I want to clean out and organize our garage I have been on a roll inside our house cleaning out and want to do the same in the garage.  It feels good to organize and get rid of unnecessary items.

This Flamingo Suit, is quite possibly the most adorable thing ever (well besides the cute baby model wearing it).  The matching purse of course had to happen too.

Someone told me about this girl's tote and I tried to find it at Target for Frances but our store didn't have it in stock.  I did find it online though, reminds me of Mara Hoffman.

I have been loving my Bon Appetite Food Lovers Cleanse Cookbook so much.  I am not following the cleanse per se but just incorporating many of the recipes into our weekly meals.  I loved this Broccoli Quinoa Salad that I made for my lunches this week.

I am working with Alex Kaehler again (she helped decorate our dining room) to spruce up our den.  I am not doing a total overhaul but making some changes.  Many of you have asked about our new rug you have seen in instagram pictures.  It is the antelope rug from Ballard Designs.  I have long admired the Stark version of this rug so when I saw the Ballard Designs one and I had a 20% off coupon it was a done deal.  I LOVE the rug.  Only issue so far is it does shed some which I hope will get better as time goes on.  We are hoping to move the rug that was in our den into our bedroom.

This is a room I have saved for inspiration for our den.

This Free People Dress was one of my favorites from last year so when I saw it was out in two new colors, I knew I needed another one.  I had the red version from last year and wore it often.  I love the loose style and embroidery detail.  For those curious about sizing it does run on the large side.  I have a size small because I was worried XS would be too short.

I am trying to find a few new recipes to try out for The Super Bowl Sunday. These kettle chip crusted poppers are top on my list to try.

How adorable is this gift box my friend Karina at Waffles and Honey put together for Valentine's Day??  You can choose from 3 different necklace colors: Turquoise, Labradorite or Crystal Quartz.  They all come packaged like this one and would make such a special gift to send to someone. They also come with a handwritten note and are $79.

I came across this picture on Facebook from 4 years ago.  I have a love hate relationship with the Facebook flashback photos, I love to see them but they make me sad how fast time is flying by.  Sterling was such a little nugget here, hard to believe he is turning 6 in 12 days.

A few new lip colors I am loving:

I just ordered this BB Dakota white off shoulder dress for the Summer.  I just can't get enough of the off shoulder look and I always love a white dress.  It is a fun backdrop for jewelry and accessories. I hope the quality is good as sometimes BB Dakota is hit or miss.  I will report back!

Have a great Thursday.

Veggie Mexican Pizzas

Little secret I love Taco Bell.  It is one of my guilty pleasures.  I don't eat it often maybe 1-2 times a year.  It always seems like such a good idea and then I feel like crap after I eat it so I try to avoid it.  Their Mexican Pizza though it's the stuff dreams are made of.  Not gonna lie I also love the bean burrito, 7 layer burrito, crunch wrap, soft taco, nachos bel grande, cinnamon twists-  the list goes on and on.   I had a craving for one of their Mexican pizzas and decided why not try and make my own.  I left the meat out but you could easily add it instead of one of the types of beans or addition to them.  I actually didn't miss the meat as much as I thought I would.  These are still pretty legit minus the meat.  The key to the crispy shell is cooking them first in a skillet then in the oven.
These would make a great nibble for Super Bowl Sunday too just slice into triangles or squares and serve on a platter:)
Enjoy!

- Flour torilla shells
- refried beans with green chiles
- refried black beans with lime juice
- shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- diced green onions
- diced tomatoes
- sliced black olives
- sliced avocado
- red enchilada or taco sauce (I like the Frontera brand in a bag)

Spray a skillet with non-stick spray and heat to medium heat.  Take one flour shell and spread with refried beans with green chiles and then sprinkle with cheese.  Add another shell on top and place in skillet.  Cook a few minutes on each side until shell starts to get crispy and slightly browned.  Remove from skillet.  Spread a thin layer of refried back beans on top.  Then drizzle with red enchilada sauce and top with more cheese.  Place on a baking sheet in oven at 350 degrees and cook until cheese is bubbly.  Remove and add diced tomatoes, green onions, olives, avocado and another drizzle of enchilada sauce!  I also added some pickled jalapeƱos to ours before serving.
