Scenes From Our Weekend

We had a lovely weekend and I hope y'all did too.

My friend English hosted a trunk show down here this weekend and Frances Moon and I met her for a quick lunch to catch up.  I picked out this necklace from her new collection.  How gorgeous is it?

Friday we met up with my parents for Happy Hour.  They were down here with two other couples for the weekend.

Frances had her first Popsicle and its safe to say it was a hit. Wearing all white was not the best move but thank goodness for bleach.

Saturday morning Sterling was supposed to have a soccer game but because of all the rain it was canceled.  Since we were up anyways we headed to our favorite bagel spot- Bagel Nation for a delicious breakfast. I like the bacon, egg and cheese with a side of jalapeno cheddar cream cheese.

Saturday we worked around the house and then headed to a cookout that night.  I made my new favorite side dish | Asparagus Bundles with Prosciutto.   The recipe is in the new Ina Garten cookbook.

My sister in law had a bubble machine Frances was obsessed with.

Sunday I took the kids to church and rocked my JCrew dress.  Loving it so much I kind of want the navy now.

Had to snap a shot of these two angels after church.  This is one of our favorite doors as we walk to church, such a pretty color.

Don't forget the Saks Friends and Family Sale started yesterday.  You can take 30% off even sale stuff.
Use code FRNFAM for 30% off and code FREESHIP for free shipping.
I wanted to highlight a few of my favorites that are part of the sale.

I love this blouse. The pattern is so gorgeous in person.

I ordered these sandals during the early preview FF and really love the rose gold.

These two Equipment items are also part of the sale.  I mentioned the dress last week, and I bought the blouse last year and wore it often.

Lots of great stuff.  A few of my other favorites.

Ended the weekend with my loves outside before the storm hit last night!

Believe.

Thoughts For Friday

Yay for the weekend!

This week I was fnally able to try 167 Raw.  It was so good and incredibly fresh. Plus just a cool little lunch spot.  They also sell fresh seafood to take home and cook yourself.

The homemade chips and guacamole were so good.  I had the crispy oyster taco and grilled fish taco, both were on point.  I also was able to try the lobster roll and scallop po boy and both were incredible.

Several of you asked about my Equipment Dress and what it looked like on.  Runs TTS, I am in a small.  It is light and airy and super comfortable.
You can take 30% off the dress with code FRNFAM2!

I just love the floral print (and rose).
I just ordered this blouse too, already on sale plus additional 30% off with code FRNFAM2.  Total is  under $100.

How cute are Sterling and Frances before school this week?  I can't get over how much they look alike these days.

This blouse is my new jam.  I am thinking of ordering another color, I love it so much.
Currently on sale plus extra 30% off with code THEBEST.
Runs large, order down a size.  I am wearing a 2.

Made the easiest most delicious lunch yesterday | Greek Mini Pitas
Split Mini Pitas in half.  Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper and sesame seeds.  Bake at 350 about 10-15 minutes until crispy.  Mix diced cucumber and cherry tomtaoes and drizzle with olive oil and red wine vinegar.  Scoop the cucumber-tomato mix on the pitas and top with feta and fresh mint.

This bacon jerky from Trader Joe's is the bomb.
Go buy like 4 bags you won't regret it.  Matt ate this entire bag in one sitting.

I just ordered from Etsy for the first time. Is it weird I have never ordered anything on Etsy?  The site really overwhelms me, but I found this fabulous embroidered dress (shocker) for Frances.  It is straight from Mexico and all kinds of good.  The dresses are hand made and the detail is amazing.
Here is the buyer I ordered from,

Lastly, I am headed to Dallas next weekend.  I would welcome any suggestions of where to shop or eat.  I will have limited free time because of meetings but would love some fun Dallas recs.  I am staying at the Joule so anything close to there would be fabulous!
My favorite part of The Joule is the rooftop pool.  I can't wait!

Happy weekend.

Everyday Jewelry Favorites

As far as jewelry goes I am pretty minimal.  I do occasionally buy some fun statement pieces but for the most part I like pieces that I can mix in for everyday wear and an evening out.  Since Mother's Day is right around the corner I thought I would share a few of my favorites.  These would make great gifts for any mom or for yourself:)

These are a few of my everyday jewelry pieces I wear often.
Nail color is Chanel Orange Fizz my newest obsession

I wear the Alexis Bittar earrings daily.  I love the little bit of sparkle they have.

You can layer the necklace or wear it solo.  I chose the rose gold in both because I have been having a bit of a love affair with rose gold jewelry these days.  The earrings and necklace also come in gold or silver as well.  Both are a great price point under $100 - and let me tell you they look way more expensive in person.  They make a gift alone or the pair together.  They are simple, delicate, and feminine which I really like.

The ring is a stunner in person.  It also comes in this beautiful gold color as well.

The Rayne necklace is more of a statement necklace, but I am telling you it goes with everything!!  It comes in a bunch of different colors too if white is not your preference.

A few other gorgeous options for everyday wear all under $160

jewels

If you want to invest and spend a little more, I love the Lagos line.  My mom owns several Lagos pieces that I am frequently borrowing. She has been collecting her pieces for years.  They are timeless and go with everything.
These two bracelets I frequently borrow, along with the hoops pictured below.
Lagos Oval Caviar Bracelet | Diamond Rope Bracelet (similar)

Link Bracelet | Hoop Earrings | Cross Necklace | Criss Cross Ring | Prism Bracelet | X Bracelet Prism Necklace | Maya Ring (comes in 3 colors) | Diamond Ring

With Mother's Day in a few short weeks, all of these are great gift options from Nordstrom.  Don't forget they will price match and always free shipping and free returns which I love.
You can my favorites below.

Easy Pad Thai

Ever since I saw my girl Taylor post this recipe I have been wanting to make it! It certainly did not disappoint and could not be easier.  Now I won't promise you this is as good as Pad Thai from a restaurant because there is nothing better than really good Pad Thai.  But this dish is legit, full of flavor and I will most definitely make it again. If you want to save time buy a rotisserie chicken, you could also add shrimp if you want.  I actually tripled the sauce- we are sauce people round here.

|| E A S Y  P A D  T H A I ||
Recipe Via Rachel Schultz

8 ounces pad thai noodles
2 eggs
1 batch of Pad Thai Sauce (Recipe Below)
3 cooked chicken breasts, sliced (I used one Rotisserie Chicken)

1 cup cilantro
3 green onion, sliced
1/2 cup chopped peanuts

Pad THai SAuce :
  • whisk the following together :
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Meanwhile, scramble eggs for about 2 minutes and set aside.
In a large skillet, combine noodles, chicken, and sauce.
