Scenes From Our Weekend

Monday again?  The weekends just fly by don't they??

A few happenings around here:
I found a new favorite breakfast.  Whole grain bread toasted with PB or Almond Butter and fresh strawberries, it is so good!

A few weeks ago I won a contest on Sara's blog for the most precious dolls called Sophie and Lill.  They arrived Friday and are even more adorable in person.  The company was sweet enough to send Sterling a shark doll too, that is pretty awesome- it comes with tattoos and it was a huge hit!  Shop dolls Here.

The dolls are so cool because on one side they are a mermaid, angel, and princess but flip them and they are ready for bed.

Sterling of course insisted on sleeping with them all.  He likes a crew at bedtime.

Saturday I finally got back to the Farmers Market, I had not been since it opened this year.  Matt usually works on Saturdays so it is special tradition for me and Sterling and now Frances.  I had a delish green juice and egg taco from Ban Bahn Mi.

Saturday night we stayed out at Isle of Palms with some of our friends who have a house.  Things got a bit rowdy but we had the best time.  Sometimes a kid free night is just what you need.  We ate lots of fried seafood, played many card games, and had a dance party.

Sunday was Father's day and I hate I didn't get to spend it with my dad but I did get to spend it with Matt and my Father in law. We went to church and the sermon was just awesome about being a good parent and instilling the right values in your children.  It was an important reminder that I need to volunteer more and help others.  Since having children that aspect of my life has been on the back burner.  I used to volunteer every week.  It made me realize I need to start back and include Sterling because he is old enough now to gain so much from helping others.   I made a goal once a month to take him and help out somewhere.  Whether it is donating something or  just our time it doesn't matter but I want him to see how important it is to help others.  This month we are going to do the Ronald McDonald house, any Charleston friends with ideas of where to volunteer would be so appreciated.

Matt got lots of love on Father's Day.  We all sure do love him.  Once you have two kids you really need the other parents help and Matt has been amazing with both kids.

Later that day we went to a birthday party for one of Sterling's friends. It was a pool party and Sterling had a blast.

I wore a one piece because when dealing with kids I just find it easier.  I have kind of been Mara Hoffman obsessed lately.  This one piece is on sale and has a killer back.  Love mine.  It also has a strap if you need more support and don't want it strapless.

Back to reality back to Monday.

Thoughts For Friday

TGIF Friends. I am so ready for the weekend.  We have no plans tonight other than our standard Friday night pizza and then going out tomorrow night with some friends that are visiting!

If you are looking for some delicious tequila you should try George Clooney's tequila.  We tried it
this week for taco night and it was really smooth.  Apparently George knows his tequila.

If you are looking for the absolute cutest kids store please check out Progeny Shoppe and if you live in Raleigh even better you can shop in person.  I love every single item they carry.  They sent Frances Moon this adorable bubble, it is perfection.

My sister advised me of a sale Pottery Barn kids was running.  She had ordered the cutest travel duffel bag for her son and I totally copied her.  It is a great travel bag if you need one and with the monogram the total is still only $22.  I feel like it is a bag he can use for several years because it is not babyish.  They had several styles on sale for girls and boys.

My Equipment Grayson Dress arrived and I just love it.  I wore it out to a girls dinner last night.

We ate at a new restaurant Leon's that I have been dying to try.

It did not disappoint. We shared the fried shrimp sandwich, the black eyed pea salad,  and siam salad.
It all was excellent.

We had a bit of a health scare with Frances Moon this week and had to have some kind of scary tests run.  It makes my heart to go out to anyone with a child going through something serious.

Thank goodness everything was fine, but man was it un-nerving.  While we were at the hospital I stopped in Starbucks and found this chocolate, it is amazing!!

Matt and I finally finished Season 2 of House of Cards and loved it.  I need ya'll to recommend something new we can watch together preferably on Netflix!

I am so honored to be featured in this month's Peachy Magazine.  I am dishing on my favorite restaurants, shops, and activities in Charleston.  You can read my article here!

Enjoy your weekends!

NDM Styles : Florals

I have been obsessed with florals lately.  Just can't get enough of them.
I am a huge fan of Rebecca Taylor.  I always love her prints, patterns, and feminine style.
This top has been a summer favorite of mine, paired with my distressed jean shorts that I have been living in!

The colors of the blouse are so pretty up close.
I am wearing a size 4 for those curious about sizing.  This blouse is not as roomy as some of her other styles because it is a touch fitted in the hips,  so order TTS.

Loving my gorgeous bracelets Coralee Boutique was sweet enough to send me and this Gorjana ring goes with everything.  I find myself wearing it everyday.

Matt likes to make fun of my shorts and calls them Bon Jovi shorts, but I actually love them. They are so comfortable too!

This outfit is pretty much perfect for these hot Summer days.

The Floral print from Rebecca Taylor comes in several other styles, all on sale!  Shop below:
