Birthday Recap

My Birthday weekend was wonderful! We did alot of shopping, eating and drinking. I swear I gained 5 lbs, I am most definitely avoiding the scale until later this week!

Our first meal out was at Husk.

Matt was supposed to babysit Sterling but decided he was dying to eat at Husk, so my sweet sister-in-law came over to babysit so Matt could join us.

I have been to the bar at Husk several times and enjoyed it. I must say though I was a bit disappointed in the restaurant. Our service was horrible, we had a female waitress and she was not attentive at all. We had to ask her to bring us bread after we saw all the other tables had some. Our food was completely mediocre. We started off with pork belly sliders, that in my opinion did not have enough meat and were lack luster. My mom and I spilt the trigger fish and it was bland with no sides.

My sister, however, ordered the duck and it was fabulous. It came served with this amazing farro and roasted sweet potatoes. The duck was seasoned and cooked perfectly.

If you decide to eat at Husk definitely try the duck it was the star of the evening. I think I had such high expectations for Husk because everyone had hyped it up so much. Don't get me wrong our meal was not horrible at all (although the service def was) but it was not as excellent as I thought it would be.
Update- My husband asked for me to add that he thought the service was fine.

The next day we all went shopping in Mount Pleasant. My grandfather gave me a gift card that I used at Gwynns to get these cute TB Sandals. Gwynns is one of my favorite stores in Charleston, they have such a great selection of shoes and home accessories.

My mom treated me to this DVF Top (although mine is purple, not yellow)

Sterling was totally exhausted after our day of shopping!

After all our shopping we needed some refreshments, so we made our favorite drink, Skinny Ritas (tequila, fresh lime juice and agave nectar). It tastes like a Margarita minus all the sugar and calories.

Later that night, Matt took me out to my favorite Mexican restaurant, Zia for my actual birthday dinner. There is nothing I love more than Mexican food. I ordered the carne asada nachos and tequila flights = pure heaven.

Friday night we dined at Wild Olive.

My mom's friend Anita, came down from Charlotte to enjoy the girl's weekend with us!

Everything we had here was delicious. The Callia Malbec wine was off the hook as were the Risotto balls.

If you live in Charleston you must eat here! It was our favorite meal of the weekend. The pasta is made fresh daily and the atmosphere is lovely.

Saturday night my two girlfriends, Jill and Alissa, joined us for a ladies night out.

We all drank 3 bottles of wine before we even went to dinner, so I knew it would be a good night. We had planned to go to the rooftop bar but sadly it started raining and got chilly so we decided on JPaulz.

They have half price bottles of wine on Saturdays which was a pleasant surprise. We all shared some truffled mac and cheese and sushi. The perfect combo in my book!

Our waiter was hillarious and kept bringing our entire table free shots since it was my birthday.

Late night my mom and sister surprised me with Carmel Cupcakes from my favorite local bakery, Sugar. They literally melted in my mouth, they were that good.

Today I am in recovery mode for shizzle. Big hugs and kisses to Matt, my Mom and Taylor for making my Birthday so fun, fabulous and special.
Btw if you read this whole post I am flattered, I realize it was SUPER long!

I Dream of Closets

Ever since I was a little girl I have longed for a walk-in closet. Although as I get older, lets be real, I want an entire room converted to a closet. Sadly, my current house is old which = tiny closets. But a girl can dream. One day I will get my huge closet, and when I do it will be pink with zebra or leopard carpet. For now here are some closets that have me swooning.

I have to be honest I am not a huge "Mimi" fan but her closet rocks. Love the pink tufted chair.

I love Olivia and would love to raid her closet.

Yes please to the see-thru closet doors and pink hangers.

Last but certainly not least is the closet of Kelly Wearstler. It is perfection but I expected no less. I need that carpet in my life.

Happy Birthday to Me

Today I am celebrating my 31st Birthday. To me this seems like more of a milestone than my 30th. Last year when I turned 30, I had a 4 week old baby, I was nursing and sleep deprived. I did nothing to celebrate but drink champagne and eat Totinos pizza rolls- kind of sad and kind of fabulous at the same time. This year I am making up for my lack-luster 30th birthday.

I will be celebrating with these two ladies.

We will be enjoying alot of this.

Doing alot of This.

And Dining Here.

I can't wait. Pictures to come.....

Obsessions- All Things Bright and Beautiful

Today I am excited to have Aubrey From All Things Bright and Beautiful sharing her current Obsessions. Her blog features such lovely things and she always keeps me laughing with her witty remarks! You must check out her BLOG if you never have! Thanks for sharing Aubrey, I totally agree with all of your Obsessions, especially 4 and 5! xoxo

I'm so very excited to be visiting on Designer Bags & Dirty Diapers today! As soon as I laid eyes on that blog title, I knew we were kindred spirits and have *loved* it ever since! I mean, doesn't it just say it all???  The good, the bad, and the diapers. (c:

I generally have a looooong list of obsessions, so I'm just giving you the short and sweet version! Okay, maybe not so short...and in no particular order. Yeah, that's how we roll.

Kate Spade . Pretty much just Kate in general. But right now, I'm totally obsessed over the new ad campaign with Bryce Dallas Howard: LOVE.

Tufting. On sofas, headboards, ottomans...you name it, I *LOVE* it. Is there really anything that tufting doesn't make more fabulous?

Audrey Hepburn. It doesn't get any more fabulous than this woman. My Fair Lady is my favorite movie of all time.

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."

~Audrey Hepburn

Painted furniture. I know, who isn't, right? But I just love how you can breathe new life into something with a stunning color and really make a statement in a room.

Fabulous closets. I think I'm a completely nosey person...that is why I like blogging and other people's closets so much. I'm pretty sure it's because a fabulous closet combines two of my favorite things: great design and clothes.

Which brings me right along to the next obsession...wait for it...it's a shocker...

SHOES.

I know, right?

And why not combine two obsessions?

Definitely not obsessed with Christina (I mean really, the National Anthem???)...but swooning over that shoe collection!!!

And really, can you end on a better note than shoes??? (c:

Thanks so much Natalie for having me!!!

Shopper's Remorse

I have been in Charlotte visiting my family since Thursday and one of my favorite things to do while home is shop! The shopping is just so much better in Charlotte. They actually have department stores- Note to Charleston you should have not closed Saks, it was our only half way decent department store. While I was browsing at Nordstorms I came across these Donald J Pilner Cork Sandals. I did not buy them and now I can't stop thinking about them. They are the perfect sandal for Spring. They would literally go with everything and made my legs look so long. Don't you just hate when you see something you love and are trying to be responsible by not buying them but then it just eats away at you until you end up buying them anyways? Well these shoes are permeating my brain. Here's to hoping these shoes are in my closet soon.

On another note today starts the first day of my Birthday week. Yes (Much to my husbands dismay), I still like to celebrate my Birthday all week long although I am no longer in College. My Birthday is Thursday and I can't wait! Lots of fun things are planned, including a visit from my mom and sister:)

Green With Envy

Happy St. Patty's Day friends. I hope you all are enjoying this holiday with some green beer or better yet green champagne. In honor of St. Patty's day I thought I would share some fabulous green interiors. All interiors are by my girl and design hero Kelly Wearstler. She obviously loves green.
