Obsessions

After seeing Emily of Ivory Lane wearing this sweater I became obsessed with it. I went directly to JCREW that day and they had one small left, lucky me,  and I brought her home. Ladies this is the most comfortable sweater ever.  Perfect for Fall, it comes in navy and poppy as well. I kind of want another color I love it so much. Great for any of you preggos too because it is loose.

BB Dakota is killing it with their jackets this year.  Love this take on the Moto jacket and the price is just as fabulous as the jacket!

I have a real weakness for Vince dresses.  They are so effortlessly cool and comfortable.
This one is on my radar for Fall.

Had to include this BB Dakota jacket as well.  I am a sucker for anything Ombre.  This jacket will be mine come Fall.  Imagine the possibilities with it!

I picked this dress up a few weeks ago at the JCREW outlet and I am loving it.  The colors are perfect for Fall.  I wore it while I was in Charlotte with flats but plan to pair it with my Rag and Bone Booties once the temps cool down in Charleston.  It is a great sweater dress and fits really well.

Velvet tops are my favorite because they are longer.  I love a longer tee paired with skinny jeans or leggings.  This one comes in two great colors.  It would be great layered under a cute jacket or vest as well.

My parents gave me this Missoni scarf for Christmas last year that I am obsessed with.  These are on sale 40% off which is such a steal for Missoni.  Trust me you will wear this with everything.

I am thinking about getting this Tote for my next diaper bag and having baby girls initials embossed on it in Gold.  I checked out the bag in person and love it.  It is the perfect shape and size.  A great timeless, classic tote.

Scenes From Our Weekend

This weekend Sterling and I headed to Charlotte for an engagemant party and to pick up a few things for Baby Girl's nursery. Matt stayed behind to have a solo weekend and do some fishing.   He's lucky right??  What's a solo weekend when you are a mom?  He deserves it though he has been working so hard at his new law firm.

Before I left town I made a big batch of Seafood Lasagna. It is one of Matt's favorite meals and I figured that way he would leftovers for the weekend while we were gone.  I posted this recipe a long time ago when I started my blog, you can check it out HERE. It is so good and a different spin on lasagna which is always nice.  It is creamy goodness filled with crab and shrimp!

For the engagement party I wore my new favorite Rag and Bone Dress.  I am telling you I wear this dress all the time and I think I will love it just as much not pregnant.  It is such a great staple dress for your closet.  The navy version I am wearing is 60% off HERE and Shopbop has the gray version on sale for 50% off HERE.  Both only have mediums and larges left.  If you need a small SAKS has it HERE also on sale.  I got a small because it has quite a bit of stretch to it.

The party was a blast.  The bride to be Lauren is between my sister and I.  To the left of me is my sister in law, Katie.  My sister is wearing my ASOS Floral Dress that I love.

We had to snap a picture of us with my mom. So glad we are adding another girl to mix.  We are all so incredibly close it makes me so excited to have a daughter (heres to hoping she won't hate me).

There was so much incredible food at the party but my favorite was these Goat Cheese Balls with Crispy Apples on top.  I must learn to recreate these for parties.

I love coming to Charlotte because they have a Crewcuts store.  Why did the Charleston JCrew ditch the crewcuts section?? I miss it so much,  it is my favorite place to shop for Sterling.  My parents love treating him to back to school clothes and we picked these up- all sale items are additional 30% off with code SHOP30.   We got the Chinos in the bright yellow, green, and royal blue.  They are my favorite shorts for Sterling.

Sterling is pretty obsessed with the Bulls Eye Tee and wants to rock it all the time.    He put together this outfit himself, and was pretty proud of it.

Sterling has been so sweet lately kissing my belly and talking to his baby sister or "my baby" as he refers to her:)  Matt wasn't home but I had to capture this sweet moment of him kissing my belly and telling her he loved her.

I am off to run some errands with my mom and that includes picking up some Fall Nail Polish.  Have I mentioned I am ready for fall?  I am searching for these two Essie Colors:  Don't Sweater it and Bopping for Baubles.

Happy Monday!

Fall Sale Deals + Fridays Randoms + Carter's Winner

Happy Friday Friends! I can not believe the Summer is almost over. I swear this Summer has flown by!  Two weeks from Saturday we finally leave to go on our family vacation and I can't wait!

At the end of the Summer there are always super sales going on. However come August I am over buying Summer clothes and I am 100% ready for Fall. If you dig through the sales you can actually find some fabulous items to carry you into Fall. Here are my top sale picks to start Fall off right.
The BB Dakota Jacket is technically not on sale but at $88 it might as well be!  The Equipment Dress and Missoni Scarf are sitting in my basket just waiting for me to check out!

Did you know JCrew started making a Maternity line?  This could not come a better time!  So far there are only two items,  the Minnie and Pixie Pants.  I am dying to order a pair to try out!  They currently do not carry them in stores you have to order online.  They come in size tall too for all us tall ladies who can't ever find long enough pants.
Minnie Pant || Pixie Pant

In other news I finally started watching Orange is the New Black and love it. Thank you for the recs! I can't believe this is based off a true story!

Jamie King has the best Maternity style ever.  I love looking at all the fab outfits she wears while pregnant.  I have tuned into a Jamie Stalker.

Sterling has started to want to fix my hair everyday and give me "styles" as he calls it.  Maybe he is the next John Frieda.  Either way it hurts like crap every time he does my hair- I mean look at all those clips!

Social Dress Shop is having a major end of Summer sale,  you can take 40% off your total order, sale and non sale items included!   I own this Rory Becca Tie Dye Dress and love it.  It is great for Fall too paired with a leather jacket.  It is already on sale and then you can take an additional 40% off, a real steal.  Check out the sale HERE.  I also highly recommend the Loren Hope Lindsay Bracelet, I wear mine almost everyday!

I am thinking about buying this Heidi Merrick Dress for Fall while it is on sale.  I have wanted it for two years now!  I also love this Loren Hope Iris Bib Necklace.  Decisions, Decisions.  Either way you should browse the sale!

I forgot to share these last week but while my mom was in town we found these awesome abstract art pieces for the nursery at a Consignment store for cheap!  I am so eager to get everything put together in the nursery.  It is slowly coming together.

Are your husbands all up in your business like mine is?  I feel like Matt is constantly checking my blog, my instagram, and now he even looks at my Pinterest Page.   I keep telling him to start his own Instagram and Pinterest accounts but I think he prefers to look at mine.  It is fine I have nothing to hide, but he came across this ecard I pinned this week and did not think it was finny, I however thought it was really funny:)

Have a great weekend!

Lastly the Carter's $50 Giftcard Winner is Living the Long Life.  She said
"I love all the little explorers collection, plus the warmer stuff is great for cold MT winters!"   Congrats Girl we will email you with your gift card info!

New Foodie Things you Need to Buy

I consider myself a real foodie.   I dream about food and a good meal makes me insanely happy.  I take eating very seriously.   After one meal I am already planning what I want to eat for the next meal.  I have been trying alot of new food items lately and wanted to share a few of my favorites.  What is your favorite new food find?

Harry and Sons Green Tea with Thai Flavors
In keeping with my Thai obsession, I found this tea at Target and I am smitten with it.  I love the light coconut flavor.  I have yet to have it warm I have just been making pitchers of it iced and it is so refreshing.

Sour Cream and Wasabi Rice Crackers
These crackers are insanely good.  Like so good I almost ate an entire box, in my defense the boxes are small.  If you like wasabi you will be addicted to these.  I found them at Whole Foods.

Creme Brulee Dessert Truffles
I love a small bite of dessert after a meal.  These truffles are individually wrapped and the perfect size for a sweet bite.  They are so creamy and good.  Problem is it is hard to eat just one.

Earthfare Maple Creme Cookies
The nice man at Earthfare opened a box of these to help me entertain Sterling while I shopped, I sampled his and promptly bought a box.  They are so good, just don't look at the calories.

Aidells Spicy Jalapeno Mango Sausage
This is some of the best chicken sausage I have ever had.  I actually tasted all the Aidells Sausages and they are all amazing, but this was my favorite flavor.  I always love something with a spicy bite.

Hunter Snack Mix
This snack mix is some of the best I have had.  I have no joke eaten a whole bag by myself, it is addictive.  It is perfect to put out in a little dish while you are having happy hour.  If you are lucky you can sometimes find this at TJMaxx and Homegoods.  I scarf it up there.

Honey Bunches of Oats Tropical Blend
This the new favorite cereal in the Mason Household.  We go thru a box a week.  It has real coconut flakes and mango in it.  It tastes like the tropics plus it it not too high in sugar or calories.

G.H. Cretors Popcorn Chicago Mix
My parents had this popcorn at their house and I could not stop eating it.  It was the perfect savory sweet combo with the cheddar and caramel popcorn.  You can buy a bag of each flavor but I kind of prefer it mixed, the best of both worlds.
Palermos Roasted Veggie Flatbread
I am not a huge frozen pizza fan but it is a necessary evil sometimes.  As far as frozen pizzas go Palermos is my favorite brand.  I had never tried their flatbreads before and decided to give them a go while they were on sale at Harris Teeter.  I was pleasantly surprised,  it was pretty darn good.  It actually had a lot of veggies on it, which was nice.  I added extra mozzarella, feta, and red pepper flakes because frozen pizzas never have enough cheese or flavor,  and that helped.  I would definitely buy these flatbreads again.

Sabra Cucumber Dill Veggie Dip
I have mentioned this before but this yogurt dip is my new favorite snack.  Only 35 calories a serving and it is so good with veggies or pita chips dipped in it.

Are you hungry now??

Thai Green Curry Chicken

I don't know what it is about this pregnancy but I have been craving Thai Food, like I want to eat it everyday!  I seriously crave it.   I decided to take a gamble and try my hand at making my own Thai food.  This was totally out of my comfort zone, but the risk paid off.  This curry was amazing.  Matt kept raving it was better than the curry we get at our local Thai Take-Out place.  I will be making this again and again.  The flavors were so rich and complex.  If you don't like chicken I am sure you could sub beef or shrimp (I just would not cook the shrimp as long).  You could also serve this over noodles instead of rice, but rice is how they usually serve the curries in restaurants.  I recommend using the full fat coconut milk it gives the dish great depth and flavor.  Glad to know I can tackle Thai Food, and you can too!

:: T H A I   G R E E N  C U R R Y  C H I C K E N ::
- 1 Pound boneless skinless Chicken Breasts or Tenders (cut into small pieces)
- 1 Zucchini sliced
- 1 head of bok choy sliced
- 1 can bamboo shoots (drained)
- 3 green onions sliced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger minced
- 2 cups coconut milk
- 1-2 tablespoons flour
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoons fish sauce
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 2 tablespoons green curry paste
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- white rice

Sautee Zucchini, bok choy, and bamboo shoots in olive oil until tender and set aside.

Toss the chicken cubes in a Ziploc bag with one tablespoon soy sauce and two tablespoons flour.  Shake up until they are evenly coated.  Heat olive oil in a large skillet pan and add the chicken.  Cook about 7 minutes flipping the pieces some.  The chicken does not need to be cooked all the way at this point it will keep cooking later.  Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.

In the same pan add a little more oil.  Then add green curry paste, green onions, garlic, and ginger and cook about 1-2 minutes til fragrant.  Then add chicken back in and make sure it is evenly coated in curry mixture.   Add in coconut milk, fish sauce,  1 tablespoon soy sauce, and sugar.  Then add in sauteed veggies.  Let this simmer on medium low about 30 minutes or longer.

Cook white rice according to box.  Spoon white rice on a plate or bowl and top with green curry chicken mixture.  Top with thinly sliced green onions.
