Weekend Style | Casual Friday

Happy Saturday Friends!  I am off for a fun filled girl's day.   Lunch out at Wild Dunes followed by massages and then a dinner out at Kiawah!

I wanted to share a favorite casual outfit today.
I mentioned this tank two weeks in my favorite tee shirts post.  It is the best.  The jeans are another favorite.  They are 6 years old and I still love them.  They sit higher up on your waist and suck in the flab. I actually own two pairs I love them so much.
The purse I bought this week at Loft after eyeing it for awhile.  I couldn't resist after it was on sale + extra 40% off.  It is a great everyday tote and comes to $27 after the discount!

Purse 40% off ends today (use code FALLSTYLE)

and this is me smiling waiting for my first meal post juice cleanse:)  Can you tell I am excited to eat!
You can also see a closer look at my necklace, it is a new favorite and great for layering.

Have a great weekend!

Thoughts For Friday

Yippee for Friday!! Even though this was a short week for some reason it still felt long to me.
This weekend we are having family game night tonight (our Friday night tradition) and Saturday I have a fun girls day planned with an overnight stay at Kiawah!

This week Frances started school.  She will be going 3 mornings this week.  I am happy to have a few hours alone and she loves going and playing with her little friends.
I of course could not resist a leopard book bag for her.
Several of you asked about her bubble.  I bought it at a local store here called Open House, but found the seller on Etsy as well HERE. | Moccasins

Matt and I started the series Narcos.  When Matt suggested it I was like um, no thank you but after episode one I was hooked.  We have already watched half the season.

For the past 3 days I have been doing a juice cleanse.  I have never done one before but always wanted to.  After an indulgent Summer I was ready to cleanse. Next week I will share all the details and how it went for me.  I wanted to share my new manicure color that coincidentally matched my juice exactly.
Nail Color is OPI A to Zurich and shoes are Steve Madden (similar)

Last weekend I finally got to try out a new Restaurant near our House, Ellis Camp Fish House.  It was so delicious with gorgeous views.
I highly recommend the fried okra and portobello fries.
My mom snapped this picture before dinner.

Since Loft started their 40% Fall event I stopped in yesterday for some goodies.
Lots of cute stuff!  Everything is still 40% off use code FALLSTYLE.
This blouse is the perfect blush shade and I finally snagged the tote I had wanted.
A view of the blouse on.

These two are so ready for Halloween.  Skeleton jammies are in full effect.

New sandwich obsession, the Turkey Brie Croissant at Brown Dog Deli.  Simply amazing.

There are so many things I love about Sterling and remind me of me when I was little.  Lately he has been laying out his outfits before school right down to the socks and it just makes my heart melt.  I used to do the same thing before school.  He is an organized fella like his mom:)
These Rack Room Batman shoes have been on major repeat.

I finished reading Jennifer Weiner's Who do You Love and loved it.  Now I am reading Luckiest Girl Alive .  So far I am loving it.  I read Reese Witherspoon just bought the rights to make it into a movie.

I can not believe it has been 14 years since 9/11.  Praying for all those today who lost loved ones on that horrible day.  I still remember so vividly what I was doing when the planes crashed. It will forever be ingrained in my mind.  Never forget.

Have a great weekend!

Falling For Fall | Obsessions

Happy Thursday!  I wanted to share a few Fall favorites I am loving lately!
Fisrt off I wanted to mention two of my favorite dresses that were just reduced.
My Madewell Embroidered Dress just went on sale and there are still a few sizes left.  I love this dress so much.  It does run on the large side so size down, I am wearing a 2. I think you can wear it into Fall with a cardigan and black tights too.

This Mara Hoffman Dress was a winner this Summer.  The colors are stunning in person.  Sizing wise I am in a medium because I wanted a looser fit!  Now on sale!

This Chambray dress will be on constant rotation this Fall.  I have been living it in.  It is light weight and loose fitting which I just love.  It does run on the large side so size down, I am in XS.

It is still hot as crap here but this sweater is getting ordered.  I just love the neckline and sleeves!

Seems like bell bottoms are back on trend for Fall.  I can't wait to try some out.  I love this higher waisted version.

Perfect off shoulder blouse for Fall.

I am loving this tunic from Anthro.  The pattern is so cute!

I love the loose fit of this sweater and color block design.
Best part Loft just announced 40% off the entire site, use code FALLSTYLE.
also comes in a pretty Blush color.

So cute and a great price!  They come in 4 different color options.

I love this dress for Fall and think it would be so cute with over the knee boots or booties.

These wedges come in gray or black.  I just love the cut-out detail, so unique and cool.
Jeffery Campbell also just came out with these cut out booties that are awesome.

I wanted this top last season but it sold out quickly in my size.  I am so excited it is back out in new colors!

I love a good tee shirt dress.  This gray color is so pretty and the price, under $45!

This purse was just reduced to 50% off!  Get it while you can.  I love the classic black for year round.

This tote is also reduced 50% off.  I love all 3 colors it comes in.  I am a huge fan of the bucket tote.

Get Organized!

Alright Friends if you like to be crazy organized like me then you need this planner in your life.  It is so good.  I had heard rave reviews about it and this is my first year getting one.  Apparently last year they sold out very quickly.  The Emily Ley Simplified Planner is where it's at.
I went for the Pineapple print
I love how the inside is organized by month and daily.  The daily page is broken down by hours too which I love for appointments.

If you don't love pineapples the planner also comes in rainbow stripes and mint/gold dots.

Get one and get organized for 2016!

Also speaking of organization and decluttering, I just started this book and I am loving it so far.

Great inspirational tips for getting organized and getting rid of crap you don't need.
I really recommend it.

2 Cheese Loaded Veggie Nachos

Nachos are quite possibly one of my favorite foods.  This week for our Mexican night we decided to switch things up and instead of tacos we did nachos.  These nachos may be meat free but they are full of so much flavor.  I really recommend slow cooking your beans.  They just taste so much better than the canned kind but if you don't want to or don't have time by all means use the canned ones.
The sauteed zucchini and corn really add some fun dimension to the nachos.  It is a great way to use up all those delicious end of Summer veggies.  You can use any two cheeses but I love the Mexican blend and the Quesadilla melting cheese.  Top with sour cream and salsa and you have a tasty meat free meal.

|| 2 C H E E S E   L O A D E D   V E G G I E  N A C H O S ||

- 1-2 cups slow cooked pinto beans (see below)
- 2 zucchinis, diced
- 2 ears of corn shucked
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 tomato
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 2 jalapenos
- pickled jalapenos
- 1 avocado diced
- shredded quesadilla cheese (with the Mexican cheeses)
- shredded Mexican blend cheese
- sour cream
- tortilla chips

For the beans I usually buy a bag of the dried organic beans.  Fill a pot about 1/2 to 3/4 full of water and add half the bag of dried beans.  Bring to a boil.  Once they come to a boil reduce heat to low and cover.  Stir occasionally.  Let the beans simmer for several hours.  About 2 hours in I add some salt and about 3-4 tablespoons of butter.  Simmer another hour or two and taste for seasoning.

Meanwhile in a pan heat about 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add in the 2 chopped zucchinis, and 1 clove garlic minced.  Cook about 5 minutes then add in the corn and one sliced jalapeno pepper.  Cook stirring frequently til the veggies soften. Add a little salt and pepper.

Layer tortilla chips on a baking sheet.  Make sure you spray the pan first or grease it with oil so the chips don't stick.  Try to spread the chips in a flat layer.  Cover with both types of cheeses.  Bake in oven at 350 degrees about 10 minutes til cheese melts and chips are crispy.

Pull out of oven and sprinkle with pinto beans, zucchini-corn mixture, sliced red onion and jalapenos (we used both picked and fresh we like heat).  Place back in the oven for another 5-10 minutes.

Remove from oven and add extra toppings: tomato, avocado, sour cream, and salsa.
Dig in!

Nordstrom Rack Finds

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day Weekend.  We had quite a bit of rain in Charleston but it was nice because we tackled some home projects and relaxed with the kids.

Last week Nordstrom Rack opened in Charleston and I can't tell you how excited I am about it.  I love a good department store, that is one of my favorite parts of visiting Charlotte is browsing the big department stores.  Charleston has no real department stores, so I know Nordstrom Rack will be booming.
I attended the opening last week with a few girlfriends and we had a blast shopping.

This dress was my favorite find.
I had admired it months ago full price on the Rebecca Taylor website and was lucky enough to find it at Rack.  Sizing wise I would say it runs TTS if not on the larger side.  I often find Rebecca Taylor runs a bit on the large side.  I am wearing a 4.

I love the pretty pastel colors and the drawstring waist.  It makes for a comfortable fit.

The shoe selection at Nordstrom Rack was on point.  So many great boots and booties for Fall.

My booties are sold out online but there are some great bootie options.
My mom picked up this pair while she was visiting this weekend and they are even better in person!

I also love these Cole Haans.  They come in 2 other colors.

A few other bootie options on major sale.

Nordstrom Rack, had all my favorite brands like Joie, Equipment, Rebecca Taylor, Alice and Olivia and Vince for a fraction of the price.  Just a few of the amazing deals online.  I found the store and the website had a different selection.  Most are 40% off and up to 75% off!

Welcome to Charleston Nordstrom Rack!  We are so happy to have you!

Thanks to Nordstrom Rack for sponsoring this post!
