Entertaining + Home Favorites

There is nothing I love more than entertaining whether it be a full blown dinner party or an impromptu happy hour with neighbors.  With the holidays right around the corner so many stores are getting in some great entertaining items.  Perfect to use over the holidays or to use as gifts.

This round cheese board is my favorite,  perfect for a small nibble.  I actually own two.  They make great gifts too and are under $50.  The table runner is such a fun addition to any table and great for the holidays because of the sparkle.

Our fig tree has had so many figs so I have been trying to think of ways to use them.  Pictured below are figs sliced and wrapped with prosciutto then drizzled with honey- super yummy!

I am kind of obsessed with this wine coaster!!  The gold lips, are so fun!   It is only $22.  I love the idea of this as a hostess gift or birthday gift for a friend paired with a good bottle of wine.

My martini shaker has since sold out but this one is almost identical and even cheaper than what I paid for mine.  I love gold bar accessories.

I really like these simple stemless wine glasses.  They can go in the dishwasher which makes clean up easy!
I want to add these pink martini glasses to my pink glass collection I love them so much.  I have started collecting pink glasses and these would be the perfect addition to my collection.

I recently bought this Pom Pom throw and I am loving it.  The pom poms make me happy every time I walk in my den.  Perfect for snuggling on the couch after entertaining!
A few other entertaining favorites.  The Nordstrom Home department has so many fabulous things right now!

I want one of each.  I am especially lusting over those pink decanters for my console table in my dining room.  That Nest candle is my favorite scent for the holidays and I love the pretty container it comes in.

Right now Nordstrom also has this special holiday edition of the 3 Nest holiday scents.  Trust me they all smell amazing.

Thanks to Nordstrom for partnering on this post!

Kale Chicken Caesar Chopped Salad with Crispy Prosciutto | Two Sales

If you love caesar salads you will love this salad.  It makes a great meal and saves easily too since the kale won't wilt as quickly as other lettuces.  I came across this recipe in my new Skinny Taste cookbook and then decided to add quinoa and prosciutto to bulk up the salad a bit.  I loved the addition of both.  The dressing is so good.  Don't get scared by the anchovies they really give it great depth and flavor.  This ended up being a really filling salad because of the protein and grains.

Also I know many of you wonder if I feed my kids the same thing we eat.  The short answer is yes.  In this case my kids don't like salad or lettuce- go figure.  So I just served them some of the chicken with a little sliced Parmesan cheese, sliced eggs and a veggie (carrots).  That way I didn't have to cook them an entirely separate meal.
Enjoy!

||  K A L E   C H I C K E N  C A E S A R  S A L A D + C R I S P Y  P R O S C I U T T O  ||
- adapted via Skinny Taste

- 1 bunch laciando kale. chopped finely
- 1 rotisserie chicken chopped into bite size pieces
- 1 cup chopped cherry tomatoes cut in half
- 1 cup cooked quinoa
- 2 hard boiled eggs, chopped
- 4- 5 pieces prosciutto
- shredded Parmesan cheese

D R E S S I N G
- 1/2 grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 anchovy filets
- 1 garlic clove minced
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon water
- juice of 1/2 a lemon
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
- fresh black pepper

Place all dressing ingredients in a blender or food processor and bend until smooth.  Add another tablespoon of water if dressing is too thick.

Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Lay prosciutto on a baking sheet and bake about 10 minutes until crispy.

Arrange all salad ingredients in a bowl.    I like to keep my ingredients separate because I feel like it makes the leftovers less soggy.  Scoop a little of each ingredient in a bowl, top with crumbled prosciutto and drizzle with dressing.

I have these Rag and bone tees in both the black and white.  They are great alone or layered under sweaters.

A few goodies all under $60.

This little black dress is now on sale and only $35.  I am wearing a small.

This tee is only $19 and finally restocked in all sizes.  My sister and I both bought it a few colors.  They are great alone or layered under sweaters and vests.  I bought a size small.

I love this color and the slouchy fit.

This is one of my favorite shades for Fall.  It looks so comfy.

I like how these are fitted at the bottom for a cuter look.  They come in several different color options but I love this royal blue.

I love trying out new lipsticks and this is a great way to try 4 colors.  These would make great stocking stuffers!
I just ordered this in black.  I am always looking for something lightweight to throw on over my tank tops when I head to the gym.

So cute and only $28.

Another fabulous BP scarf and under $30.  These colors are so pretty.
I love the pattern on this and the neckline.

This comes in 3 colors would be great casual for date night or dressed up for a holiday party.

This sweater is so soft! I tried it on the other day and now I am wishing I bought it.

I love this pewter color.
These would be so cute with jeans or leggings.   A great everyday shoe.
I love all 3 colors.  These would be great to jazz up any Holiday outfits.

Scenes From Our Weekend

Happy Halloween!!  Sterling and Frances woke up so excited about today and I am excited because it means I can pack up all the Halloween decorations:)
Truth be told our weekend was pretty low key.  I didn't snap a ton of pics but here is what I captured.

Thursday after school the kids headed to a fun Halloween decorating party at Camp Perri.  They always love anything at Camp Perri she is great with kids!
While they decorated I walked next door with my friend Ashley to Crushed.  The owner let us sample a few wines, they have a such a great selection.

New favorite earrings from Empire State Finery.

Sterling had his school Halloween party on Friday.  I volunteered to bring fruit and thanks to Pinterest I found this adorable idea for skewers.  A few of you asked how I did the faces and I used icing.  The recipe called for a food coloring marker but I couldn't find one.  The small tube of gel icing was easy to use though.  Rodney was hoping he got one, but no dice.

My wingback chairs that I had recovered were ready on Friday so I picked them up.  I love the neutral fabric my mom and I picked out.

Friday night we hung out with my parents.  I always love their view for happy hour.
Wearing:

Saturday morning my mom did a little home shopping at GDC.  I am still searching for fabric for pillows on my wing back chairs.  It takes me forever to make a decision.

This tunic is perfect with leggings.  I am always looking for longer tees and I love this one and it is only $32.  It also comes in black and hunter green.  I am wearing the US 6.
What I wore:
Matt took Sterling to get a haircut and they did the cutest faux hawk.

We had a birthday party that afternoon for one of Sterling's friends and then ordered pizza.
This scalloped tee is so cute and only $25, also comes in black.  I am wearing size US 6.

Sunday I worked around the house then we took the kids to the Yacht Club.  It had been closed down the past few weeks because of damage from hurricane Matthew but finally reopened.  It is always my favorite spot to watch the sun set.

Have a great Monday!
