Thoughts For Thursday

We have had so many fun activities going on leading up to Christmas.
Monday afternoon the kids went to a gingerbread house decorating party at Camp Perri.  She is so great with kids and they always have the best time with her.

and yes Frances wore this gem of a dress/night gown all day:)
Speaking of gems how amazing is Frances Moon's class ornament??  I could not stop laughing.  Tongue out, permanent marker on her head- the best picture ever and kind of sums up her personality!
Our Santa picture before the Nutcracker.  Frances would not even look at Santa.

Two recent workout looks.  Most days I am in my workout clothes so I bought a few new pieces to inspire me to keep hitting the gym up.

This tie back top is basically identical to my lululemon one and almost a 1/3 the cost!  I swear the material and fit are the same!

Sterling had his first grade Christmas program this week and it was the sweetest thing I have ever seen.  He insisted on wearing his " lawyer jacket" like daddy.  He told me how to roll his cuffs and comb his hair.  Then before we left we looked in the mirror and said  "Man I look good!".  So handsome and grown-up!

I have been picking up a $20 veggie basket from Rooting Down Farms each week. They deliver bags to James Island and Summerville.   It is such a great deal and the veggies are always so amazing!  Sterling is now addicted to broccoli rabe because it was in our basket the last few weeks. He now requests it every night and asked me to pack it in his lunch too!

The most gorgeous sky on the way to school yesterday morning.

The cutest ruffle sleeve sweater.  It also comes in black and is under $50.

If you are looking for a special Christmas Gift, check out Harrison Blackford's art.  She is an artist here in Charleston and so incredibly sweet and talented.  Sterling has a crush on her, he always wants to stop by her studio located inside Open Door shop.  She just released a new series Doors of the South and Homes of Charleston.  I love all the colors and they would make such a fabulous gift!  You can see all the door paintings HERE, many have already sold so act fast!
I am partial to the pink one:)

One of my favorite Vince blouses is now 40% off.  This is the black one I wore last weekend.  I also own the white. It runs slightly on the large side I am wearing a size 2.  They are so easy to dress up or down.  The back is my favorite part.

I took the kids to see Moana yesterday because it was rainy and dreary.  The movie was so good, I highly recommend it!  I think I may have liked it more then them.  Sterling kept telling me he never wanted to be in the middle of the ocean on a wooden boat- haha!

I am totally going to try and make these funfetti marshmellows with the kids next week.

Happy Thursday!

Cheeseburger Quiche + LBD for the Holidays

I have been in a bit of a cooking rut these days.  I have been making the same meals and not really branching out.  Yesterday while running errands I was trying to brainstorm dinner ideas.  Quiche popped in my head and I racked my brain for quiche recipes.  Then I thought why not a cheeseburger quiche?  A few google searches later and I knew that was happening for dinner.  I made a few changes to the recipe I found and it turned out great.  It was really easy to make and the kids loved it.  Next time I may add some chopped pickles in while it cooks too.
Enjoy!

- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon mustard

I also wanted to share the cutest LBD.  I spied this a few weeks ago on instagram and fell in love with it.  It was sold out of course but now back it is back in stock.  It is only $79, such a steal.  It would be great for any holiday parties especially NYE. I love the idea of it paired with statement earrings and sparkly heels!  It runs TTS, I am wearing a 4.

Gift Guide | Jewelry

I was planning to run a gift guide for the men this weekend but it is taking me a bit longer to put together- they are always the hardest to shop for.  Stay tuned for it as I will post it this week!  Today it is all about jewelry.  I rounded up some great options in all different price ranges.

Jewelry Gift guide

I love Anna Beck jewelry it is so pretty and I love her attention to detail.  I have admired this necklace for awhile now and it was just reduced.  A great everyday piece great alone or layered!

I own these in 3 colors.  They are great,  not too heavy and they come in several colors.  They are only $42.

Every time I wear this ring I get compliments.  For the price it looks amazing on.  Use code LOVE30 to save 30%!  Making it only $20!

I want this beauty for myself.  It comes in gold, rose gold and copper.
I love the idea of this stacked with other bracelets or alone.   I actually love the idea of ordering the gold and rose gold and wearing them stacked together.
This is one of my favorite rings, I wear it all the time!
If you want more of a statement ring I love this turquoise one and it is currently 30% off til midnight tonight.

These are a fun pop of color and under $50!
I love the idea of this chunky necklace paired with just a plain tee!  It is 30% off today too. Use code LOVE30.
I love the detail on this cuff.
Such pretty colors and only $28.
I really like the simplicity of this ring.  It is so simple and stunning.
This is so pretty.  I like the mixed silver and gold.
These have been sold out and finally restocked!  Perfect for the holidays!
I love any and all Anna Beck jewelry.  I have my eye on this beauty!  It would make a great everyday ring!
Candyshop Vintage is a local Charleston shop and I just adore Deirdre the owner/designer. I own this necklace and wear it often!
She is famous for her rice beads if you don't own any you need them!  I own several colors.

Several of you have asked about my acrylic jewelry boxes in my bedroom.  I found mine at Homegoods for a great price but these are the exact same ones I have.  They are really large and hold quite a bit of jewelry.
I have the larger size pictured above but they also make this slightly smaller version.

I don't have the ring holder but I am tempted to buy one.  They would make great stocking stuffers and are under $30!

Lastly,  my friend Karina from Waffles and Honey has put together the most beautiful gift boxes and they are only $49.  You can custom create and pick what stones you want in the necklace.  I was just gonna do the kid's birthstones but I liked the idea of three stones so I added mine in too.  I love the result.   I did my necklace in gold because that is all I wear but you can also make it in silver as well.  She also does birthstone earrings.  These make such a special and thoughtful gift.

I also have the initial charm necklace.  It makes a great gift for a mom or grandmother with the kid's initials.

Scenes From Our Weekend

Hello Monday.  Can you believe Christmas is 13 days away??  I have lots of shopping and wrapping left to do.  Hoping to knock it out this week!

Thursday was a long day after my girl's Christmas party.  Taco Bell was needed.  I know Taco Bell can be so gross but I secretly love it, especially a Mexican Pizza.

Later that night we met up with my parents for dinner.
I had several questions about sizing for this sweater and it runs TTS, I am wearing a small.

For the next 2 days Baublebar is offering 30% off the site with code LOVE30.  This is a great time to buy gifts. These Crispin drops are my favorite.  They are light weight and come in so many great colors.  I am wearing the royal blue above.
The Pinata tassels are another favorite of mine.  I wear my pink and ivory ones often but all the colors are gorgeous.

Friday morning it was so cold here!  I loved how adorable Sterling looked in his cold weather get up.

My mom and I did a little Christmas shopping and stopped in Antiques of Windemere.  Frances was really trying to convince me she needed this leopard chaise.  It was pj day at school that day hence her Christmas jammies.

Friday night we had our next door neighbors over for happy hour.
My blouse has the cutest split back, I own the white version too.  They are great basic blouses to dress up or down.
What I wore:

I made sugar cookies for the kids to decorate and they had a blast!

My neighbor Rick (he does amazing photography) entertaining the kids.

Saturday's outfit.  I ran a few errands and tackled laundry.
My sweater is now 40% off and only $23!

I whipped up a chopped salad for dinner.  This is my favorite chopped salad I make it frequently for lunch.
I use a combo of kale/romaine then add toppings:  chickpeas + cucumber + cherry tomatoes + hearts of palm + yellow bell pepper + red onion + kalamata olives + pepperoncinis.
I usually just mix olive oil and red wine vinegar for the dressing.

Sunday I took the kids to see the Nutcracker with a few of their friends.  I had grand visions of a fun afternoon but the kids weren't feeling it.  They told me they were bored a million times and kept asking when they could leave.  Then Frances started making farting noises and Sterling was asking why the boy's pants were see through. It was then I decided we should leave:)  I thought Sterling would be old enough to enjoy it but I knew Frances would be a wild card.  I will say at the Gaillard before the show they had cookies, ornament decorating and pictures with Santa that the kids really enjoyed.

Frances Moon's dress is available HERE.  If you love smocked clothes Smockingbirds has a great selection and great prices too!!  I just love her Christmas dress.

Frances Moon and her best friend Anna Louis.
Sterling and his best friend Oliver.
We didn't want to spend a ton on tickets since we didn't know how the kids would do so we were pretty high up.  I still really enjoyed the performance.  My friend Sarah and I joked that next year we would leave the kids and come alone!
This face cracks me up.

What I wore:
Have a great start to your week!
