Thoughts For Thursday

Happy Thursday.

Several of you messaged me and wanted the recipe for this quinoa salad I made for lunch this week.  I used Ina Garten's recipe for her Middle Eastern Salad and just added quinoa.
You can see the recipe HERE

Inspired by my resort post I picked up this pom-pom maxi dress for St John.  It is cotton and so comfy.

My dresser arrived for the bedroom.  Things are slowly coming together.  I am having it painted in the next few weeks and a new rug is on the way too.  I also plan to mount the tv on the wall.

I mentioned last week that I had crazy bad chapped lips for almost 2 months.  I received so many great suggestions and some of you wanted to know what people recommended, so here were the most popular:

- Lanolin (aka nipple cream)
- aquaphor
- coconut oil

I ended up ordering the Sarah Happ products and love them.  I had been using Aquaphor before and for me it just wasn't working.  The scrub really helped to get the dead skin off my lips.  I ordered this grapefruit flavor but you are better off to buy the set as it is cheaper.  The lip slip feels amazing on your lips and really moisturizes.
Several people said you could make your own scrub as well with brown sugar and olive oil.

Snapped the sweetest picture the other night while Sterling and Frances Moon were watching TV.

Two White blouses I am loving.
This one is currently on sale + 40% off making it $26.

Under $100 and I am wearing a small.

Shopbop just reduced many items.  Scroll through to see a few I am loving.  That first sweater is my favorite!

I stopped in Indigo Market this week to look at a rug and they had some really pretty stuff.

Loving this Pinot Noir I picked up at Total Wine.
How gorgeous is this orchid I found at Lowes?  It came already potted in the glass container with the spike plant.

Outfit planning.  I am hoping to wear this out this weekend.

My dad shared this with me and I loved it so I wanted to share it too.

My Daily Make-Up Routine + SEWE

I frequently share what face masks and night time products I use on here but I have not done a daily face post in awhile.  I am that crazy gal who doesn't like to leave the house without make-up.  I don't like it to look like I am wearing too much make-up but I also like some coverage.  I have blond eye lashes and bad under eye circles so mascara and concealer always happen.  Below are the products I use on a daily basis.

daily make-up

I was skeptical about this at first but now I am totally obsessed.  I know some people say oils can be greasy but this one is not.  The key is to let it sit on skin about 2 minutes before you apply your moisturizer to settle in.  I love this one.  It is the first thing I put on every morning.  I feel like it really hydrates my skin.  This small bottle lasts for a long time too as you only need about 1-2 pumps.

Next I apply this moisturizer.  I like it because it is considered "safe" and has no harmful ingredients.   It has coconut oil, aloe, safflower oil and acai in it which really to help moisturize the skin.   It is also light weight and not greasy.

\\ E Y E  C R E A M I alternate between this eye cream as well
Under my eyes can get really dry so I apply an eye cream morning and night.  I find it helps my concealer not get cakey as well.

Then I apply tinted moisturizer to even out my skin.  This is another "safe" product I love.  The coverage is nice and it reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

I use this brush to apply the Tint Skin and I promise you really helps to seamlessly blend the foundation and make your skin look almost air brushed.  This was another item was skeptical about but now I am obsessed with it.

Under eye circles are my worst skin problem. Mine are so dark, add in the fact I don't sleep well most nights and that makes them even worse.  I actually use 2 concealers for extra coverage.

First I apply this Chanel one.  `I have the shade Beige Ivory.  I blend it with this brush.  Then I apply Cle De Paeu with my fingers.  I have found the combination of these two works well for me.
I use #31 in the chanel concealer and beige in Cle De Peau.

Next I use this brush and dust this powder over my face.  It provides just the perfect amount of coverage and doesn't look like you are wearing powder.  I use the Beige Rose color.

I ordered this set right after Christmas and I am obsessed with every single product in it.  It really makes your face look glowing and sun kissed. It comes with 5 products: mascara, beach stick, lipstick, eye shadow, and wonderglow instant beauty flash.  All these items are sold separately as well.  I liked the idea of the kit though to try a few at once.

The eyeshadow stick may be favorite, I love the color.  It looks dark but it is the prettiest bronze neutral.   I feel like it makes my eyes pop.  I have the bronze gromet color but they come in several other colors HERE.

The beach stick is also amazing.  You can use it on your cheeks and lips for that perfect sun kissed look.  I have the shade Moon beach but it also comes in 3 other shades.
The lipstick is a great neutral and I loved the mascara as well.  My lipstick is Very Victoria.

I love Chanel's eye liner.  It goes on smooth and is easy to use.  I alternate between the navy and black.

Another Chanel product I love.  I have tried so many mascaras and this one is always my favorite.  It makes your lashes look long and full.

During the day I don't wear lipstick but I do use lipgloss and love all the Beauty Counter ones.  I am loving the two new colors Bee blossom and Corabell.

I also wanted to mention in 2 weeks on Feb 17-19,  it's the Southeastern Wildlife Festival here in Charleston.   This is one of our favorite weekends.  It is such fun for the whole family.  There are shows, demonstrations, a petting zoo, and food and drinks!  It is Sterling's birthday weekend so my whole family is coming this year!
Today is the last day to pre-order tickets.  Use code HOORAY to save 20%.  You can order tickets HERE

Resort Obsessions

I had a reader request to share some resort favorites as she is headed somewhere tropical over President's day.  Perfect timing since I leave for St John's in about 4 weeks.  I have beach wear on the brain.  I know it is still cold everywhere but it is fun to dream of warmer temperatures and a sunny escape.

resort

Such a gorgeous one piece.  Also comes in black and red.

Also comes in white.

This looks like it would be so flattering.

Loving all the cute pom-poms

This is perfect to toss on with jean shorts but would also be cute with jeans too.

I always love the palm print.  This would be great for any of you pregnant ladies too.
I love a cute necklace to toss on with a cover-up or white tee.

I really want this one.  I love the style and embroidery detail.

Under $100.

I own this in the black version and love it.  The tie dye is so fun.
This is on my wish list.  It is cloth so it is light weight and easy to fold up and pack.

This is under $100 and comes in several color options.

I just bought these at Target and they are adorable in person and under $30.

Super cute and on sale for under $50.

I just love fun earrings when I am on vacation.   These also come in blue and green and I like that they look lightweight!
I always love a neutral sandal and these would go with everything.
Mara never disappoints.  I am contemplating this one for our trip.  I love the color palette and style.

Pizza Wonton Bites+ 18 Super Bowl Appetizer Ideas

Today is all about appetizers, aka my favorite meal.  I made these pizza wontons over the weekend for happy hour with my neighbors and they were a huge hit.   Since the Super Bowl is this upcoming weekend I wanted to share this recipe and a few others that would be perfect for game day!
Let's be real I could care less about the actual football game but I do love the food spread and half time show:)
