TOY STORY

I just had to share these pictures of Sterling playing with his two favorite toys. I love that he can grab for toys now and hold them on his own. This is such a wonderful age. He is beyond obsessed with Sophie the Giraffe. We have already lost one and I quickly purchased another. We don't go anywhere without Sophie and now that he is starting to teeth he loves her even more! He also loves his Manhattan Ball. He is constantly reaching for them and sucking on them with his sore gums:)For any moms or moms to be I highly recommend these toys!

JUST LIKE HIS DADDY

I couldn't resist posting this picture. Sterling is such a little man. He loves to be sprawled out on the sofa legs spread relaxing just like his daddy. He even has his own beer belly, well milk belly:)

Tasty Thursday

As most of you know I love to cook. If I had an infinite amount of money and time I would try out new recipes all the time. I love creating a dish from scratch and enjoying it! Every Thursday I am going to share a recipe that I love or have made that week. I have finally decided to buckle down and battle the last few pounds of my baby weight, so the recipe this week is a healthy one. This recipe comes compliments of my sister Taylor and we have made it many times. It is perfect for the summer! I made it this week and have been eating it everyday for lunch. It is a delicious and refreshing black-eyed pea salad.

BLACK EYED PEA SALAD

4 CUPS COOKED BLACK EYED PEAS (I USE THE CANNED ONES DRAINED AND RINSED)
2-3 SCALLIONS DICED
1 SMALL GREEN BELL PEPPER DICED
1 LARGE TOMATO, SEEDED AND CHOPPED
2-3 RIBS OF CELERY DICED
4 LARGE BASIL LEAVES CHOPPED (I USE MORE)
1/3 CUP OLIVE OIL
2 TBLS WHITE WINE VINEGAR
1 LARGE GARLIC CLOVE MINCED
1/2 TSP BLACK PEPPER
1/2 TSP SALT
1 TBLS HOT SAUCE (I USE TEXAS PETE AND USUALLY ADD MORE)

IN A SMALL BOWL WHISK OIL, VINEGAR, GARLIC, HOT SAUCE, SALT AND PEPPER. COMBINE THE PEAS WITH THE REST OF THE INGREDIENTS AND THEN POUR THE DRESSING OVER. BEST IF CHILLED FOR 2 HOURS.
ENJOY!

The Art of Fashion

I consider myself to be a pretty trendy dresser. I love to read all the latest fashion magazines and keep up with all the trends. When my new bazaar or instyle comes I can't wait to tear through it and look at all the beautiful clothes! I love trapeze dresses, high waisted skirts, loose blouses all things that I consider fashionable and if I saw another woman wearing any of them I would think "wow she looks cute." Matt begs to differ he says I dress like a pregnant woman and wishes I would dress more casually like a t-shirt and jeans or polo shirt. Casual really is not my style, I feel most comfortable in a dress. I am learning to dress more casually now that I have a baby at home but you will never see me in sweats and t-shirt. I just keep rocking my old clothes with a much more expensive dry cleaning bill from all the spit-up and pee! I don't do preppy either, I see other women that dress preppy and think they look cute it just isn't for me!

Which is funny because I like my men to be dressed preppy. I love a man in khaki pants and a button down shirt and I love my baby boy in bubbles and jon-jons. I am going to keep dressing Sterling in bubbles and jon-jons for as long as I can because after that what can you dress a little boy in that's cute? I dread the day when he says mom I want to wear my sponge bob outfit to class today, yikes! so I want to keep him dressed sweet for as long as I can!

Here is a little sneak peek of a precious outfit I got Sterling to wear next weekend for the 4th of July. I can't wait to put my peanut in this precious Old English American flags bubble.

The Apple of my Eye

Sterling is now 4 months old and growing so fast! I can't believe how quickly the time is flying. The other day I caught myself looking a pregnant woman feeling jealous about how much she had to look forward too! I am not one of those people who loved being pregnant, I felt huge, bloated and unattractive the whole time but for a second I started thinking well maybe being pregnant wasn't that uncomfortable! I am no where near ready for baby number 2, I have my hands full with one but I definitely think about it sometimes!

Anyways so far this is my favorite age, he is smiling and trying to talk and sleeping through the night- hallelujah. and most importantly I finally feel like myself again. The first 2-3 months after I had Sterling were a total blur. I was sleep deprived and trying to figure out this whole mom thing! Here are a few recent pictures of my sweet little man flashing the smile that melts my heart!

A New Blog in Town

So I have been wanting to start a blog for awhile now but I am not the most computer savvy person, unlike my sister Taylor who is a genius with computers. So please bear with me as I get my blog up and running, as I am sure there will be many layout changes along the way. I absolutely love reading other people's blogs so I thought why not start my own. This will be a little window into the life of the Masons!

I debated long and hard about a title for my blog and finally decided on designer bags and dirty diapers. For those of you that know me I have a strong love for designer purses, my heart used to belong to Louis Vuitton (and still does) but there is a new player in town named Gucci. As soon as I found out I was pregnant I immediately thought hmmmm I need the coolest diaper bag I can find. I stumbled upon a large Gucci tote that is made of material easy to wipe down and clean and thought done! and its been a love affair ever since! and the dirty diapers part, well I am a new mom and thats pretty much what my days consist of!
