Thoughts For Friday

Happy Friday Friends! This has been a whirlwind week. I still can't wrap my head around the fact we are having a baby girl. I am so excited. Of course the first thing I wanted to do was go look at baby girl clothes. Turns out I don't love all the girl stuff as much as I thought I would.   Alot of it is too pink, too sparkly, and too fluffy for my taste,  even the traditional smocked stuff that I loved for Sterling I don't love as much for baby girl.  I had a hard time finding anything I loved but I did snag this adorable onesie for Baby girl.    I found alot of cute stuff at Baby Gap, which is funny because I never shop there for Sterling!  Their prices are great though!  I am smitten with this cute outfit.  You must click on the link to see the back of this romper it is adorable!

Also loved this Baby Gap Dress. The colors and stripes reminded me of LemLem.

If you love Greek Food as much as I do, you must try Papa ZuZu's in Mt. Pleasant.  My friends Chassity and Sarah urged me to try it and it was amazing.  One the best Greek Salads ever and their warm pita bread and hummus is delish!  I picked it up after my doctors appointment as a treat and I am still dreaming about it!!  Plus the salad is so big I ate off it for two days!

Our first box from Citrus Lane came and it was great!  Sterling was so excited to get mail and it was filled with such fun stuff for him.  I highly recommend.  You can sign up HERE to try it out.  His box came with a race car painting set, a pack of reusable/washable stickers, a lunch container you can use the stickers on to decorate, two cold packs for lunches or booboos, and dried banana snacks.

Of course now that I know we are having a girl my wheels are spinning on the nursery design details.  My sweet Dad has graciously offered to paint the nursery for me, I think he felt sorry for me after I painted our den and hallway myself.  So I am searching for paint colors.  This is so weird and normally I am not a purple girl at all but I am leaning towards doing the nursery a pale purple gray.  After seeing Pratt and Lambert's Quartz Moon in the new House Beautiful I am loving it.  Any other great neutral purple grays I should consider?

I am so excited both my boys from Breaking Bad got nominated for Emmy's, they deserve it.  I am counting down the days til August 11th when the final season starts.  I miss Jessie and Walt.

Can we talk about how amazing Jenna Dewan looks 7 weeks post baby.  I mean how do these celebrities do it??  I need tips.

Normally my little cougar crush Zac Efron can do no wrong but I am still trying to wrap my head around the tragic jean shorts he is wearing.  All men need to take note,  jeans shorts are never a good idea.  His body still looks pretty amazing though.  Is he 21 yet??

My ASOS dress finally came and I can not say enough good things about it!!  It is such a fabulous pattern and looks way more expensive than it is.  It is fitted on me because of my belly but I think it will fit perfect post baby too.  For those curious on sizing I ordered a 6.  Highly recommend this cute dress.

Have a great weekend Friends!
xoxo

Love everything! The dress is gorge on you! The purple is going to make for a stunning nursery! The baby bubble is darling. GAP kids is awesome for baby girl clothes. Boden USA is great and Ralph Lauren outlet at Tanger has precious stuff too!

The Gap has really great baby girl stuff and what is even better is that it goes on sale all the time. It washes fantastically too. I love it for my daughter. Old Navy usually also has great dresses for babies. Lots of smocked dresses that look more expensive than they are. You are going to have a lot of fun!

My mouth is watering, that salad looks amazing! Can you believe I can't manage to find a good Greek place in Atl?! And I can't wait til my bracelet arrives, they shipped it like 5 minutes after I placed the order, amazing! Janie and Jack has some great girl stuff that's not all watermelons and butterflies :-) You look amazing BTW!

Natalie, I was the same way about girl stuff...still am. Not a huge fan of all the pink, too sweet, too girly clothing out there. I too have shopped A LOT at Gap for Vivi and I NEVER shopped there for Julian. I hit up their sales and get GREAT stuff. Old Navy always has cute stuff too!

So excited for you having a baby girl :) I've gotten a lot of Baby Gap and Tea Collection (wait for sales) clothes for my girls. Also love Target for affordable pieces (they also have a lot of hideous little girl clothes but some really cute things too). Janie and Jack is adorable but pricey.

p.s. celebrities have nannies and personal trainers. That is the secret :)

My daughter is 17 months and my new go to favorites are Tea Collection, Peek, Zutano and Mini-Boden all of which are super pricey for kids stuff that they out go quickly. But, I wait for the sales at Nordstroms and Zulily and stock up. Old Navy is also awesome for great little leggings and t-shirts.

I bought that sweet striped dress at the Gap for Ellis a few weeks ago! She wore it at the beach and it was adorable. They have great little girl stuff at Baby Gap! Your little gal is going to be so well dressed :)

I'm not a purple fan at all - but I actually LOVE the shade you are thinking for the nursery. It looks like it would pair really well with smokey grays and soft whites, so I'm sure you could have a lot of fun with it!

Enjoy your weekend girl!

I am crazy-over-the-moon excited for you and your little GIRL! I'm definitely a big fan of Gap for girl clothes and actually, I really love Target, too! They have a lot of the frilly no-no stuff, but definitely a lot of just good stuff that is cheap, easy to wear, and darling (c: Plus it's just kinda like shopping for yourself, sometimes you love *EVERYTHING* and sometimes, you can't find a damn thing anywhere (c; Still looking amazing, girl!

natasha {schue love} said...

Isn't that funny? I always envy all of the girl selection at Gap and Target but I KNOW if/when we have a girl, I'll be like, why did I always think that? Oh perspective!! Still so excited for you! XO

(Found you through commenting on Baby Mama Juice) Okay, this might come off as creepy but it is totally intriguing to a person like me (who lives in South Dakota with cows and tumbleweeds AKA almost zero people). My 2 year old son is also named Sterling and we are expecting a girl also (EDD Aug 30). I'm with you on the baby girl clothes, I envied them all throughout my first pregnancy and even now. UNTIL, I had to shop for them...Most of it is cute if you're doing family photos or Easter, etc. But for everyday? It all looks too nice to get messy! Congratulations on your exciting news!!

As for girl clothes, there is so much that you have to a lot more crap out there to go through but there is cute stuff out there, I promise! When I found out I was having a girl, i bought so many things that werent good quality just because they were cute. Ive learned better now! My favorites for smocked stuff is Jadi Lane, araluz, little English and shrimp and grits, which is local for you! Kissy kissy and magnolia baby make really sweet soft clothes and so does auraluz. Good luck! Also, you can't go wrong with feltman brothers for good traditional/fancy smocked clothes!

There is a super sweet line called Two Girls and a Boy that you should look up. It is very traditional and everything is customizable. They have a website and Facebook page. And you can see the designs in person through trunk shows.

Hi Natalie! Congrats on your baby girl! I painted my little girl's nursery a lavender/gray color from Benjamin Moore called "antique pearl". It's transitioned from nursery to toddler room really easily and it still looks great even with the new furniture and colors I have introduced. You can see a few pics of her room on my blog
http://heartdecodesign.blogspot.com/2013/04/big-girl-roomfinally.html

Congrats again!! I can't wait to see how you decorate her room!

I can not resist Gap Kids for my nieces and I'm not one to go overboard with pink clothing. I actually love navy and turquoise for little girls! So excited for your sweet family!! One of each---how fun!!

Congratulations Natalie! I have really really been enjoying your blog- I am officially obsessed with Trader Joe's Spinach and Kale Bites thanks to you! I can't wait to see all that you choose for your sweet baby girl!

I did our downstairs half bath in a smokey purple. The color is sherwin williams queen lilac. With a tin ceiling antique mirror and chrome fixtures, it ties in nicely without going too feminine. You can see it here:

Going through the pottery barn kids catalog and found they have a new purple gray color called silver peony by sherwin williams. It looks exactly like what you are describing!

I used Lazy Gray by Sherwin Williams in Wells room. It has a purple tint to it. I'm not a big purple fan either but I really like how it turned out. It's an easy color to decorate with. oh and obsessed with greek food too, love the dress and adorable bubble. And Zac is hot. :)
