Thoughts For Thursday

One week from Saturday we are headed back to St Maarten.  We went last year for 5 days and this year we decided to do a full week.  There was so much we didn't get to see or do because we were lazy our first few days.  So I want to know from anyone who has traveled to St Maarten what are your favorite spots, restaurants, beaches etc!  We want to see and do it all this time!
Two Recent OOTD's.
My addiction with off shoulder outfits continues.  I bought this dress on a whim from the Junior's section and I really like it.  It is lightweight material and I like the looser sleeves. I am wearing a size small in the dress, runs TTS.

This Equipment Blouse is currently 40% off.  Size down runs on the large side, I am wearing XS.
It also comes in white.

This picture of Frances Moon makes me smile every time I look at it. I kid you not she accessorized all this by herself down to the phone and purse.   And her sassy stance just makes it even better.

Thanks to the rec from my friend Caycee I ordered these hair vitamins and I really feel like they are working on my hair.  I have been taking them a little over a month and I feel like my breakage is not so bad and they are helping my hair to grow.

I can't believe Sterling is done with Kindergarten, sniff sniff.  He seems so grown-up all of a sudden.  The good news is he still loves to cuddle and I am soaking up every minute of that.   I am excited for a fun Summer with him.

Selfie in my favorite mirror (from Crate and Barrel) at my parent's condo.  Plus this tee shirt is on repeat every week.
Tee Shirt (wearing size 1) + Necklace

I made a spin on my Roasted Veggie Rice Bowls and subbed Quinoa for the rice and they were so good.
For the veggies I did roasted broccoli, sweet potatoes, purple cabbage, and avocado with green goddess dressing.

I love this idea of a hummus salad.  I eat hummus most days for lunch and I want to try this out.

I stopped by the Celadon Warehouse with the kids this week and they had some really cool stuff.  Every Sunday they have a fun Warehouse Event where you can take an additional 20% off prices.  They also have food trucks, jump castles and local vendors!  A fun Sunday activity with or without kids!
The event is at the warehouse not the actual store- the warehouse is located at 2221 Noisette Blvd)
The kids really wanted this bench:)
 and I fell in love with this teak table and stools.
Celadon just revamped their online site too and now anyone can shop not just locals!
I am obsessed with these Vintage Turkish Yastik Rugs.
I really want one for our house.

I also love these Charleston glasses.  How cute would these be for entertaining or as a gift?
Also yes please to these Rebecca Atwood Pillows.
I just downloaded The Nest to read next.  I can't wait to have some down time to read while on vacation.  These days I have been too tired at night to read more than a couple pages.  I am hoping to read a few books while we are  gone.

Happy Almost Weekend!

Have so much fun on your trip!! We went to St. Maarten in 2007 for a wedding and I remember taking a little boat to Pinel Island and having lunch over there. I think it was off of Orient beach- I can't really remember but it was so much fun! We also did a catamaran booze cruise, I think it was Eagle tours and we did a sunset cruise. Again so much fun.

St. Marteen is our Favorite spot. We stick to the french side mostly and explore new beaches each day. I suggest packing a soft cooler to fill with beverages and ice each day in case you are at a deserted beach without restaurants. Here is a list of must do/sees
Long Bay beach
Bay Rouge (red beach) There are other beaches on this route/side of the island, just check the map
Pinel Island (take a kayak over)
Orient Bay (populated but fun. Get a cheap massage on a beach hut)
We did a catamaran one day that took us all over and included lunch, highly recommend
Take the ferry to St. Bart's and go to the beach there, fabulous!
Food: Grand Case is where its at. You could probably eat a different place each day there and be satisfied.

You need to rent a car to really see/experience SXM. Here are a few suggestions:

Stop at Loterie Farm for drinks and/or lunch;
Visit Orient Beach (we like Waikiki and Kontiki bars)
Our favorite beach is Baie Rouge
Pinel Island (access from Orient Beach) is nice, but can be crowded and pricey, and there can be a long wait to get back to Orient Beach;
Mario’s Restaurant (Porto Cupecoy) is excellent;
Grand Case has excellent fine dining restaurants (we have tried several, most recently Le Tastevin) and Carnival occurs on Tuesday evenings;
Temptation (Cupecoy) is good, but the food is adventuresome;
Basilico International (Cupecoy) is good;
Skipjack’s (Simpson Bay) is hit or miss and the food is not consistent;
We are not fans of the food at Cheri’s Café (Maho) or Pineapple Pete (Simpson Bay), but Cheri’s Café does have live music;
Visit Maho Beach when the planes are landing; there are several fun beach bars there;
Do not visit Phillipsburg on Sundays (the cruise ships arrive that day);
Zee Best (a chain) has good pastries;
La Croissanterie is nice for a crepe breakfast, but there can be an odor in the harbor (Marigot);
Margot has really changed in recent years and the number of shops/restaurants has drastically declined;
We have taken a sunset cruise a few times and enjoyed it;
America’s Cup Yacht Racing is in Phillipsburg;
All beaches charge for chairs/umbrellas;
Most all beaches have excellent sand and clean water (Orient does have some seaweed);
Drive into Simpson Bay to see the yachts;
We like the restaurants Crave, IZI and Vesna Taverna (Simpson Bay), Blue Fin (Cupecoy);
Try Le Café at the Cliff (Cupecoy) (visit for lunch, amazing views);
The seaside nature park offers horseback riding and other activities;
We went to Anguilla for 2 days this year and really enjoyed it; you can visit Anguilla or St. Bart's for the day (board in Marigot)
Have fun!

I did St. Maarten for our honeymoon 8 years ago...so not sure how much has changed. Since you said St. Maarten and not Sint Martin, I assume you are staying on the Dutch side as I did? We stayed at Great Bay resort which was a great location. I really loved the market down the street - and please, bargain away! There was a super cute bar called Barefoot. We didn't really do any nightlife other than the casino at our hotel though. We stayed coastal, didn't go much inland. We loved an excursion we took that included snorkeling and traveling to a nearby island to cover ourselves in mud!!! Enjoy!!

If you're taking the kids, Bikini Beach was perfect for little ones.

We go every year and we did get married there. I love orient beach and the beach bar coco beach.. Try Auberge Gorman for dinner. Bikini beach bar is fun and Kontiki. Anguilla is a beautiful day trip. We did a catamaran booze cruise to prickly pear island. Coco beach had the best breakfast. We only really to go to the French side and it's beautiful
