Lighting, Necklaces, Plants and Other Randoms

Happy Friday Y'all!
I had all my lights installed this week and I am so thrilled with the results.  It is crazy how much lighting can update a room.
The chandelier from Lowes for our dining blew me away, it is so good in person and right under $200.
I also bought this flush mount light at Lowes for our hallway.  It is the Allen + Roth brand and I really like the sleek modern feel of it.

and finally I had the West Elm Pendant light (the lighting at West Elm is still 20% off FYI) hung in Sterling's room. It actually looks better in there than it ever would have in my dining room.  It kind of has an urban/masculine feel to it that goes with his room.

I also picked up two new plants for our house.
I fell in love with this cactus when I saw it, random I know, but it is so cute right?  I had been wanting something for a corner in our bathroom and it looks perfect in there.

I also bought a small Fiddle Fig tree for our dining room.  Lord help me that I don't kill it.  I suck at taking care of plants, but apparently it only needs to be watered about once a week and I can handle that.  I am on the hunt for a new basket to set it in, my Nate Berkus one is too large.  If you are local and looking for a Fiddle Fig tree Hyams on Folly Road had a good selection and different size ones.
(ignore the wall to the side we had a cabinet ripped out and are in the process of doing some work in our kitchen)

Madeline at Poppy Styles was sweet enough to send me this gorgeous necklace.  I just love her jewelry and had the pleasure of meeting her when I was in Charlotte a few months back.  She has graciously offered my readers 20% off her site with code DBDD20! I love this necklace so much, it is adjustable so it can be any length you want!  You can browse all her beautiful jewelry here

Several of you asked about the top I am wearing above.  Its from Social Dress Shop and currently 40% off.  Runs way large, I am in an XS.  and yes Sterling is still feeling the Halloween Spirit!

I have really been trying to master the art of flower buying and arranging.  It is kind of therapeutic to arrange flowers.  This is my latest arrangement and I am pretty proud of it!

So I finally decided I need to start planning Frances Moon's Birthday since it is like 3 weeks away.   Poor second child, waiting til the last minute.   This is what the birthday girl will be wearing.  Priorities right?   I am going to pair it with a dress from Zara I ordered and I am waiting on!  I think these feather headbands are just the cutest thing ever.

The Nordstrom Clearance Event is still going on and there are some awesome kid things on sale.
Frances Moon's Tucker and Tate Poncho is now 40% off.  We wear it all the time, it is so darn cute.

A few other favorites:

Love these knee high boots just marked down at Tory Burch.
also obsessed with these snakeskin flats.  So pretty.

I can not stop thinking about this Brussels Spout Gratin.  It has s strong possibility to be added to our Thanksgiving menu.

and this quote.

Have a great weekend!
xoxo

Dying over all of those lights! So need to fix the builder lighting situation still in some rooms of our home.

Good luck with your fiddle leaf! I have killed two.

Hey Natalie, I've never commented before, but I just wanted to drop in and tell you how much I enjoy your blog. I have a 15 month old little girl, so I love hearing your stories and seeing your pics of Sterling and Frances. I needed an idea for a children's book for a little boy's gift last night, so I promptly went right to your blog to pull up some recommendations. I've made and loved the chicken enchilada casserole you shared with us, and I've taken advantage of many of the internet sales you tell us about. You're very real and relatable , and I'm thankful you're part of my daily reading. Keep it coming! :)

The light in Sterling's room is my favorite. It is made for his space! I have an awesome basket for my fiddle fig tree that I found at Target. Think it is either Threshold or Nate Berkus- can't remember. Yours would also look pretty in a blue and white Chinoiserie style pot. Horchow and Wisteria are good sources!

I have been debating changing out our coffee table for a glass one. Do you find you have to clean it all the time???
