Scenes From Our Weekend

I have such a love hate relationship with daylight savings time.  I love the extra hour at night but man I hate getting up while it is still dark out!  This weekend we were blessed with gorgeous weather again.  I have to say it makes me excited for Summer and the extra time outdoors.

Friday while the kids were in school, I hit up the outlets.  I never really find anything for myself there but I wanted to get the kids some pjs, underwear and socks.  Nothing too exciting.  Since I was already in North Charleston we decided to eat lunch at Basico.  I had only been here once before.  I ordered the Basico bowl with half chorizo half chicken and it was so delicious!

Friday night we did a sleepover with my friend Ashley and her girls.  We like to do this every few months.  Us ladies stay up and chat and the kids have so much fun!
I am wearing Rebecca Taylor Blouse,  it is sold out but this style is the same.
We enjoyed dirty martinis and ordered pizza and the kid's watched Billy Madison.  Fun for everyone:)

Saturday morning we strolled the marina.  Sterling always loves looking at the boats.
and notice he and Effie insisted on trading shoes:)

Then we went to Park Cafe for breakfast. I dream about their avocado and creamy kale toast.
I love this picture of Sterling.  He can never have enough jelly.

Saturday afternoon the kids insisted they wanted to put on their bathing suits and get in the water.  There is a park near our house that has small beach area the kids love.  I put my feet in the water and it was COLD but it clearly didn't phase them!
I am usually not one for matching outfits but I could not resist these leaf print swimsuits from The Beaufort Bonnet Company.

The kids said they wanted tacos for dinner that night so we switched things up from our usual and made fried flounder tacos with pineapple jalapeƱo relish. They were off the hook good.

Favorite outfit over the weekend.
The dress runs on the large side, I have an XS.
Sunday on the way to church I snapped this picture of the kids.  Pretty much sums up their personalities.
I wore this gorgeous Hyla Dewitt Necklace to church. I have fun post coming next week featuring her jewelry and a discount code! The dress I am wearing is old but this one is very similar.
Sunday night we went to the Yacht Club for Happy Hour.  We were happy to have the extra hour of light!

Sterling was so excited about the dead fish bones he found and we promptly made him was his hands!  He did manage to find all these shark's teeth which he was super pumped about.  and it slightly terrified me- haha!

Have an awesome week!

Thoughts For Friday

The weather has been amazing here all week.  I swear it puts me in better mood.  I think it is so true vitamin D is good for you!

Target has been on point lately with the little girl's stuff.  I found this dress in store and could not believe it was under $20.  I promise it is even cuter in person. The material is nice and thick with embroidery.

Pink Chicken just teamed with Target too.  The line is beyond adorable.  I ordered Frances a few things that I can't wait to arrive.
A few of my favorites.

The kids and I enjoyed a beautiful dinner at Ellis Creek Fish Camp last night.  They love all the games there and the view is amazing. We shared a fried shrimp and fried oyster basket and it was delicious.
I ordered this Lily dress for Frances for Easter and she has insisted on wearing it the past two days.  I guess I chose well, I loved the vintage feel of the pattern.  She is also chapstick addicted these days, she loves to pretend put it on:)

I made a really easy couscous salad for lunch this week just using items in my fridge.  I used Israeli Couscous + cherry tomatoes + cucumber + red onion + kalamata olives + orange bell pepper + fresh mozzarella and parsley.  Then I drizzled olive oil and red wine vinegar ( and salt and pepper) over it.  Super easy and tasty.

I am really digging this bathroom with the graphic wallpaper and thick marble slab.

My favorite rose (Moulin De Gassac Gulihem) just came back out with a new vintage, so I was happy to enjoy a glass outside.
Wearing BR Sandals that are now 40% off with code BRCFIT
I am tempted to order the heel version since they are on sale.
I love idea of the green or bright blue for a fun pop of color.

The kids have been all about all the Easter treats that are out right now, so one day after school I let them choose one treat.  They of course both choose peeps on a stick.   They had more fun sword fighting them than eating them.
Frances Moon's Dress is Petit Peony (their spring line is amazing) + Mocs
Did anyone else love Rainbow Brite when they were kids?  I saw this display at Hallmark and I can't explain how excited it made me.  I loved Rainbow Brite when I was younger! I want to go back and buy a few things to surprise the kids with!

I stopped in Loft this week and they had some really cute tops and dresses.  I bought a few things including this off shoulder top- I know I clearly have an addiction to off shoulder tops!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Obsessions

Currently Loving.

After my friend Ashley posted a picture of this dress in the store I knew I needed it.  I think it will be the perfect Easter Dress.  All sizes were just restocked too with a ship date of 3/14.
I would say it runs on the small side.  I am normally a 4 but the 4 was snug in my hips so I went up to a 6.

I ordered these shoes last week and I can't get enough of them!  They are comfortable and under $100. I am wearing them above:)

The cutest off shoulder blouse and only $39!

I love the beautiful pattern on this maxi!

I have featured this dress on here a few times.  I had originally ordered the blue but I switched it for the black and I am loving it.  I have worn it 3 times this week thanks to the amazing weather. I am wearing a size small, it is a loose fitting dress though.

I adore the cut out detail on these and the color is perfect for Spring.  I always love Jeffery Campbell shoes they are a good price point and good quality as well.
I always love a shift dress, it is such a classic silhouette.  The colors in this dress are gorgeous.  This would be a great Easter dress.

I think these are so fun for Summer.   I really like both the hot pink and turquoise.

Tata Harper just came out this new purifying face mask.  Her regenerating face mask is hands down my favorite mask.  I just ordered this one and can't wait to try it.  I love all her products.

I featured the matching tote for this a few weeks ago.  The clutch is the perfect summer accessory and under $70!
I tried this on in the store this week and it is so cute on.  I love the cut out detail!

This is a new brand to me and I am loving the fun boho floral prints!

I own this dress in the long sleeve tee shirt version and wear it often.  I am digging this short sleeve version, especially the all white combo.

I really like a gladiator style sandal in the Summer.  They are cute with dresses, shorts and skinny jeans.  These come in brown and black. They would look great paired with the 2 dresses above.

This is the same style clutch as my colored fringe one.  The style is great and I really like the neutral colors.
I have heard nothing but rave reviews about Jessica Simpson's swimwear line.  This reminds me a lot of Mara Hoffman but is half the price.  I always love a strapless one piece for tan line purposes but this comes with a removable strap as well.

Easy Weeknight Dinner | Naan Pizza x 4 Ways

As much as I love cooking, I get lazy and like to have a few meals that can be whipped together quickly.  These Naan Pizzas are super easy, I would say they take less than 10 minutes to assemble and about 15 minutes to cook.  All in all this is a meal that can be made and cooked in under 30 minutes.

There are a million different toppings and flavor combos for pizza but these are few of our favorites.  2 are vegetarian and 2 have meat.   I love that they each have a different base : pesto, hummus, fig preserves, and marinera.  There is a pizza everyone will like.  These make a great appetizer too if you cut them into bit size pieces or strips.  It is also fun to let the kids help you assemble them and put the toppings on.

I really like the Tandori Naan bread from Trader Joes for these pizzas.  It is the perfect size for mini pizzas.  But if you don't have a Trader Joes nearby most grocery stores have naan bread in the fresh bread section.  You can make these ahead and reheat at dinner if you prefer.
Enjoy!

- 1 naan bread
- pesto
- fresh mozzarella
- a few stalks canned asparagus sliced (you can also use fresh that has been cooked)
- handful cooked english peas (I like the Trader Joe's  kind in the produce section.  You can cook them in 2 minutes and they make a great side too)
- fresh parmesan cheese

Layer the Naan with pesto, then mozzarella, then asparagus and bake at 350 degrees about 15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.  Sprinkle on cooked peas and then grate fresh parmesan over the top.

- 1 naan bread
- hummus any flavor
- diced cherry tomatoes
- diced cucumber
- diced orange bell pepper
- diced red onion
- feta cheese
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar

Spread the hummus on the naan bread and top with a sprinkle of feta cheese.  Bake at 350 degrees about 10 minutes.  Toss tomatoes, cucumber, onion, and bell pepper with a few drizzles of red wine vinegar and salt and pepper.  Pour veggie mix over hummus and add additional feta if desired.

- brie cheese sliced
- crumbled bacon

Spread naan bread with fig preserves and layer on brie cheese. Bake at 350 degrees about 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and melted.  Remove from oven and sprinkle on crumbled bacon.  This is also amazing with caramelized onions.

- 1 tomato thinly sliced
- basil, chopped
