Adult Time

The hubby and I are off for an adult only getaway. It will be our first solo vacation since our honeymoon almost 4 years ago. We have taken many vacays since but usually with my whole family- who can turn down an all expense paid vacay by your parents? This trip will be a little work and play. Matt will have to attend some meetings during the day and we will have cocktail parties at night but we will still have alot of free time.

We are staying at the Westin in Hilton Head.

I can't wait to lay by the pool.

and read this huge stack of magazines I never quite have the time to read. I am going to start The Help (I am know I am probably the last person to catch on to reading this book).

Hopefully enjoy a few of these.

and best of all sleep in late.
I am sad though I am missing one of my best friends bachelorette parties. I mean what are the odds that both events fell on the same weekend. It sucks, but my wifely duties prevail. Happy weekend dolls.

If you have a chance to grab dinner out one night, you have got to go to Alfred's!! It is amazing food and a quaint atmosphere. My favorite dish is grouper or other white fish with a chardonnay bleurre blanc.

Natalie! Let me know if you make a trip to Savannah - it's just a little over an hour from HHI! Enjoy your trip!

I'm insanely jealous. There is nothing better than a stack of magazines, cocktails, and laying out. Go buy those clear folder things to put on the outside of the magazines so you don't get magazine print all over you! You can find them in the school supply section! Have a great time and enjoy the Help!!!!

Have yourself the BEST time girl!!!! It is so important for you to have this time to yourself. I've been on two girls' trips and one getaway with my husband since Wells was born a year ago. They are a must have luxury for me. I am so happy for you and your magazine cocktail time. And enjoy yourself a nice long shower and peeing in private...those are the best parts of a baby free vacay!!!

I am jealous! :) And no worries....I haven't read the Help either. Every year I plan a sorority pledge class reunion. This weekend we are heading to Austin to stay at the Barton Creek Spa and Resort. I'm definitely looking forward to a little relaxation by the pool, a massage, a few drinks and dinner out with the girls! :) Enjoy your weekend!!!

Missing out on a party does stink, but I'm pretty sure I would swim through an alligator infested lake if it meant that I got to be with just my hubby on a trip!!! Have so much fun relaxing, girl!!!

Thanks for checking out my guest post over at Aubrey's blog :-)

Looks like you and your hubby have a great little holiday coming up. Bummer about missing the bachelorette, but I'm sure your friend understands.

I just finished reading The Help a few weeks ago. It's such a fantastic book, I didn't want it to end! I'm going to check out the movie - I think it opens on the 10th.
