Scenes From Our Weekend

Is it just me or do the weekends fly by way too fast??
I am almost halfway thru my pregnancy which is hard to believe. I officially have a full on bump.  I am loving being pregnant so much more this time around but I still worry everyday about every little thing, just praying this baby is healthy and the rest of my pregnancy goes smoothly!

I am trying to enjoy and savour all these moments with Sterling while he is an only child.  He seriously melts my heart, he has such a big and sweet personality. I have spent many nights cuddling in bed with him and his "friends."

Friday night we cooked out at the Yacht Club with Matt's family to celebrate Father's Day belatedly.  I whipped together a salad with some Farmers Market goodies that was amazing.

Saturday we hit up the Farmers Market and this is what Sterling chose to wear- I can't make these outfits up.  He definitely got alot of attention.

That night we went on a family boat ride.  It was so nice, we are so incredibly lucky to live near the water!  I whipped together some mini BLT's for our boat ride- my newest obsession.  We (and I mean Matt and I)  demolished the entire tray of them.

We cruised around for several hours.  The water was so calm it was really nice and there are some gorgeous views right behind our house.

While we were cruising I discovered (gasp) a varicose vein on my leg- WTF.  I had previously thought it was just a bruise but it just never went away.  I never had these while I was pregnant with Sterling.  Do they go away post pregnancy?

I have really been trying not to shop alot and lets face it shopping is not as fun when you are extra round in the middle but I can't get this dress out of my head that Natalie blogged about last week.  It would look so cute preggo and after too.  Anyone own this dress is it as cute in person?

Loved this quote, have a great Monday.

Love your bump! I'm 24 years old with no children and I have a few of those veins. I think it can also be a hereditary thing too. Share your secret if you find a way to make them less noticeable! Love that dress! It's a great price with so many colors to choose from!

Umm I have been waiting for someone to chime in and say YES varicose veins will go away and give me some glimmer of hope! UNFORTUNATELY, at 6 months postpartum I will say I still have a handful of them on the sides of thighs. So gross. I still have hope they will go away though. Or that a spray tan will help disguise them. Either way, that bump is just beautiful girl!

you look fantastic! I am dying for that One dress on Shopbop, and it's perfect for your cute prego self. I hate to tell you my veins got worse after the 2nd pregnancy and they haven't gone away...definitely on my list of things to get fixed in the years to come!

Looks like a great weekend. I am crazy over BLTs and those look amazing. Get that dress! I could like it in every color. By the way, pregnancy looks so, so good on you.

What a perfect way to enjoy BLTs!! I never thought of making them cute and all cut like that. I don't think the veins go away unless you get surgery? Small price to pay for healthy babies, is what I try to say. You're adorable!

You look so fantastic!! Can't believe you're 1/2 way through the pregnancy already. If you keep mentioning that dress I'm gonna have to bite the bullet too. So cute!
Also - adding bacon to my grocery list - those BLTs look like da bomb.com.

I was about to tell you I had that same skirt (pic 1) but then realized there's no way...bc clearly that is maternity. Duh. I have one similar...ha. I adore you for letting Sterling go out dressed like that. I feel like some moms would be too uptight/concerned w/ outward appearance and you are just letting him embrace his sense of fashion! Love that so much. I ate so much bacon this weekend. You must try the bacon from whole foods. I swear to goodness, I got breakfast from their hot bar on Saturday and it saved my life. Best bacon and eggs EVER.

Great dress! You are halfway through your pregnancy! Yay! I will say prayers for a healthy baby and an easy delivery! You look amazing too by the way. Dont worry about that tiny spider vein. Small price for a beautiful baby ;)

Those sandwhiches look amazing. Amazing. And I have one of those darn veins too. Ugh.

Sterling's outfit is just awesome!

Not sure about the veins, but I do know there is a surgical way to remove them. Hopefully you won't have to deal with that!

Love all your weekend pictures! Those mini BLT's must have been a hit. I am on a serious BLT kick myself, and I like to add avocado for a twist. I had a really tough time with veins during my second pregnancy. We're talking compression hose-the works! After James was born they did improve slightly, but now, 15 months later I am personally starting to have issues. For cosmetic and health reasons I have been approved for surgery this fall. Honestly speaking, try not to worry because yours will most likely clear all by itself.

Kyle said...

*To follow up- I had slight varicose vein issues noticed at month 8 with my first pregnancy, and those did clear in the time between my second pregnancy. I guess everyone is different and I think genetics plays a role.

You are so cute! Those mini blt's look so freaking good. I would have eaten the whole tray! No really! And I admit my veins didn't go away after Tagg. Boo.

Aubrey {All Things Bright and Beautiful} said...

I have to agree with Julia, no-go on the going away after pregnancy...they faded a bit, but damn it, my body will never be the same!!! )c: And That dress has totally been on my mind since you blogged about it! It really it just perfect for the bump and post-bump!

Your bump is so cute, and I cannot believe you are half way there! Also, Sterling's outfit is hilarious.

Sterling is just the cutest little thing and I love all of the outfits he puts together!! I can't believe you are already half way through...you look fab!!

I was obsessed with BLT's during my second pregnancy too! You must be having a girl! ;)

I unfortunately had horrible vericose veins with both of my pregnancies. I'm told they only get worse with each pregnancy and I can certainly speak to that. They went down almost immediately after having my daughter but they still exist. They are so ugly and I am so self conscious about them but mine are ten times worse than yours. All worth it though because I have two healthy kids ;)

I can't believe you're already half way there. So exciting! Keep enjoying those moments with Sterling. It will be tough when the new baby comes!

There is so much extra blood flow in your body when you are pregnant and that is why varicose veins often appear during that time. Try to put your feet up when possible. Of course this is impossible during the day with a child but at night when you watch TV just elevate your legs. Compression tights are an option to help prevent more veins but they are horrible. After the pregnancy is over you can have them injected which collapses the vein and makes it go away. very simple and not too expensive. I developed some during my twin pregnancy and was mortified but had them taken care of after. good luck

I love that dress!

So jealous y'all live right on the water! Boating is my favorite thing to do! Lastly, I have had BLTs on the mind lately..we have a few leftover from a cookout last week and I think you've convinced me to whip some up tonight!

Unknown said...

unfortunately, i believe vericose veins are laser-removed only. i have a few, but don't fret, it will likely get less noticeable after pregnancy when your blood flow pressure is a lot less on it.

Once again, we missed each other at the yacht club! :( Confession - I made Cameron a salad tonight and made myself a fried green tomato blt. Fatty.
