Coffee Tables + Ottomans.

I am slowly but surely crossing shiz off my house to-do list.  I have wanted a new coffee table for awhile now.  Our old one which I had since my pre-marriage days was just way too big in our den.  It dominated the room.  I wanted something smaller and sleeker so I could have room to do two ottomans on the side for extra seating.

I first spied the perfect coffee table on Pinterest (of course) and stalked it to find it was from Urban Outfitters of all places.  Here is the original picture I saw that sold me on the table.

{Criss Cross Coffee Table}
A great table right???  I loved the sleek modern look and the fact that it was not too big.  Plus Urban Outfitters has great prices and free shipping over $50.  A no brainer when ordering furniture.

Here she is in our den.  I think it is just the look I was going for.  It made our room feel so much more spacious without our giant coffee table.
(sorry for the grainy pics I was lazy just using my iphone plus our camera sucks)

Now I just need two ottomans for the other side.  I can't decide if I want X-Bench ones or small square nailhead ones.

I adore the snakeskin x-bench ones in Jen Ramos's home.  Just perfect, they make me lean in the direction of x-bench.

However I also love these square ones.

I have been scoping out these two from Ballard Designs.  The prices are pretty good although not sure about quality because I have never ordered from there.   There are also alot of fabric choices which is nice.

Then I found this set on Overstock.  Such a freaking steal.  $199 for the pair!  Only thing is they are made with faux leather can't decide if that would look cheap in person and bother me.  Is faux leather lame?

Lastly here is my other concern, this bench under our entryway table.  I don't want it to look like too many similar benches in our den.   Or do I want them all to relate and look similar.  I can always move it to a bedroom but it fits perfectly under the table right now.

So what would you do?  X-bench or small square ones?  Any other places to shop for them?  Any of the above winners?  Give me your best decorating advice!  What should a girl do??

Shameless plug, but I'll be selling custom x-benches in my Etsy shop soon, in any fabric. Wood legs instead of fabric-covered, though. Love the new coffee table, very sleek and totally opens things up visually. Hope you have a great day! Was totally cracking up at the IG pic of Sterling behind you in the Target dressing room the other day :)

It looks absolutely fabulous!!! I vote for square nailhead ottomans in a fun print!

That coffee table is amazing! I think I might need to order one as well. I think you need to stick with square ottomans since you already have an x bench. Get the crappy kind from Target that are super cheap and have storage and then get someone, or yourself to reupholster them. That's what I did and it turned out really great.

My vote would be for the first Ballard Option....similar to the bench you have, but not too similar. While I have never ordered from there, I have several friends that have and they have been happy with their pieces :) Good luck!

That coffee table looks perfect! What a score! I love glass! I would go with Ballard Designs squares in a cool fabric! They are a great shape, you can pick your fabric and you aren't spending a fortune so if you get sick of them, no harm done!!!

I agree with Julia about the Target ottomans! I have had one for a few years now and it's help up great, plus who doesn't need extra storage?! However Ballard is amazing as well. I've always had great success with their furniture. You might see what Home Decorator's has as well. I have a leather chair from them that is an exact copy of a Restoration Hardware one!

Kind of digging the overstock set! Very modern and the faux-leather will be ultra-durable.

I'd say go with Ballard - either the square ottomans or the X bench, the o.co ones look too similar to what you already have, and I'm with you on the 'faux' leather - unless you see it in person, I'd say no. I've heard great things about the quality of Ballard, and know they are used on a lot of sitcom and talk show sets, so they have to be somewhat decent!

Extremely random but check out Target online for the ottomans. They have some surprisingly cute stuff!

I read your blog every day but never post but I actually bought amazing x stools that would look awesome next to your new table I got them on one king lane they are white leather on top and chrome on the x part. Email me if you would like to see a picture of them in person bc they come up on the oneking site quite a bit!

That table is a great find! I have a weakness for x benches so my vote would be for an x bench. I am sure it will end up looking great.

As part of redecorating; new furniture can be an immense strain and with so much longing to beautify their homes to a celebrity standard there comes no surprise as to why purchases are now made with the future in mind.Choosing your ottoman is a matter of taste of course. Some of the popular ottomans are cube ottomans, storage cocktail ottomans, colorful ottomans and round ottomans.

Thanks for sharing this post. Footstools and ottomans are used by many people all over the world in homes and businesses. There are many footstool varieties available and one of the most popular types of footstools are storage footstools. This is because they not only offer the characteristics of a traditional footstool but they also provide a place to store small items.
