Thoughts For Thursday

Do you ever feel like when you get back in town from a trip it takes you a week to get back in your routine?  I am still doing laundry, cleaning house, catching up on emails and work and it all seems to never end!  I am struggling on the blog front coming up with interesting stuff to write about so if you guys have any topics you want me to write about leave a comment with an idea or email me!  Today you get my random thoughts- lucky you.

Confession, sometimes I buy food at TJMaxx- is that gross?  Anyways this is the latest gem I found there.  This popcorn was amazing.  It is no secret I love truffles and this had great truffle flavor.  My mom, Sterling, and I ate the entire box in seconds.  I am pretty sure they carry this brand at Whole Foods too if TjMaxx food makes you weary, but its cheaper there!

I have been trying to build my Summer wardrobe on a budget this year.  This is my latest find.  This ASOS Dress is my newest obsession.  It is cotton and comfortable so I know I will live in it all Summer and I love the tie dye colors.  I highly recommend.

My sister and her husband gave me a Kindle for my Birthday and I am so excited.  They know me well they picked a hot pink leather cover that I adore!  I just picked up Mrs. Kennedy and Me and The Honest Life but what should I read next?  I need some good recommendations.

I finally hung my piece of art from Jenny. I am so in love with it, it makes me happy every time I walk by it.

While I was home my mom had this vintage sofa of my great grandmothers recovered.  I love transforming a vintage piece.  They are so unique and bring such character to a room.  This is my new favorite spot in the house.  She had some of the fabric leftover that she gave me to make into custom ottomans for my den.  I can't wait to get them back!

Newest perfume obsession is balenciaga florabotanica.  This is the best scent I have smelled in forever!!   I could not stop smelling my wrists after I tried it last week.  Although side note it makes me not want to buy it because Kristen Stewart is the face of it- I can't stand her pouty attitude.  She never smiles.

Now that the weather is warm all I can think about is Happy Hour.  How good do these pink tequila drinks look?

Have a great Thursday!

ooh! Check out the book "Blue Zones" by Dan Buettner. It's about the oldest living people in the world, how they are really laid back, family oriented, what they eat, how much wine they drink (you'll love this part as much as I did) and more. If you liked Alba's book you'll find this super interesting!

I always say however long you are out of town, double that time and then you know how long it will take to get back into the swing of things.

I have been on a major reading kick lately, I am going to do a post about it next week but here are some books I have read that I recommend

sharp objects, the playdate, still alice, a secret kept, and Dark places.

Here is what has been recommended to me but I have not read yet...
The Paris wife, the kitchen house, Mrs Lincoln's dressmaker, and the avaiators wife

Lots of great things here...I recommend The Happiness Project for reading if you haven't already. I too can't stand Kristen Stewart...I don't think she has a winning personality either, sort of seems full of herself.

You may feel like you're in a blogging rut, but I love the random stream-of-consciousness posts!

The dress is phenom on you.

I, too, buy food from TJ Maxx and Marshalls. I always check the expiration date and I have yet to find a product that has expired! I figure the turnover there is so high that it's just as fresh as grocery store foods.

Loving this post. I'm with you on so many fronts - trying to build my summer wardrobe with some inexpensive pieces (love ASOS), and all I want to do is drink on a patio somewhere ;)

My boyfriend got me hooked on the Mitch Rapp books by Vince Flynn (If you like the Dan Brown books, these are similar!) I need to get a cuter Kindle cover - do you know where is yours from?

Hi! I am a long time reader but have never commented.

I am coming to Charleston for the first time in a few weeks. Can you give a review of your favorite restaurants and local shops in the area? You have such wonderful taste, and I'd love to have a local's perspective!

Hi Natalie! I read your blog everyday and love your honesty and funny random thoughts! I have a 2 year old son and my husband just got transferred to Denver for his job so I'm now a stay at home mom with no family in town....so I can relate to you! I would love for you to post about staying at home...ie, what activities you do with Sterling, how you keep the day busy, and anything else that helps you to get through the hard days:)

Thanks for your blog, I look forward to it every day!

Hey girlfriend - that popcorn is the bomb.com. I scooped mine up at Fresh Market but will look for it now at TJ's.

I have a request if you are open to it - since bathingsuit season is around the corner and you've shared that you were able to trim some college weight off, would you mind sharing how you did it? I'm looking for any tips to help trim down before I have to go bikini shopping :S

Love your blog! Love the random thoughts! I am a stay at home mom to a 15 month old boy and your blog keeps me stylish (I think!). I always struggle with shoes though; I'd love your advice on that front. Also, how do budget for all your great clothes?! Any tips for staying on budget?

That little sofa turned out beautifully! I love everything about it. And I always feel that way after getting back from being away. I'm in the same place right now, suitcases half unpacked, laundry piling up, this kind of thing totally stresses me out!
